Got a king sized bed and the room was very clean, stocked up ice machine was great for me and my child who love to eat ice. For local users Browse the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in Erie, PA, the Days Inn by Wyndham Erie, located at 6101 Wattsburg Rd, Erie, PA 16509, USA, appears as a budget-friendly option. As with many economy hotels, guest experiences can vary significantly, and an objective introduction must consider both reported advantages and notable drawbacks based on recent customer feedback.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Erie is situated on Wattsburg Road, a commercial thoroughfare in Erie, placing it in an accessible location for travelers. Its setting is typical of a roadside hotel, designed for convenience for those traveling by car. While not in a picturesque or secluded area, its location offers relatively easy access to various parts of Erie. The property has two floors and features exterior corridors, which can sometimes impact the perceived sense of security, though one guest noted that "well the lighting was around the whole establishment added an extra sense of security." However, negative reviews mention "garbage all over the grounds at the side doors" and the "smell of pot fills the halls," which point to significant issues with the immediate environment and overall upkeep. These environmental concerns suggest that while the location might be convenient for access, the on-site ambiance can be considerably less appealing.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Erie offers a selection of basic services and amenities. A key feature is the complimentary continental breakfast, aiming to provide a convenient start to the day. Guests can also expect free WiFi, though the quality and reliability are not consistently reviewed. The hotel is pet-friendly, specifically accommodating dogs for a fee (first dog free, second dog $20, no cats allowed), which is a significant advantage for travelers with canine companions. Rooms are typically equipped with essential amenities such as air conditioning, a TV with cable channels, and a private bathroom. Some rooms may also feature a refrigerator and microwave, as mentioned in a positive review. The hotel also provides free self-parking. A positive review noted a "stocked up ice machine," which is a convenient perk. However, other reviews highlight a severe lack of basic amenities, such as "No towels two tiny hand towels. Two wash cloths. No tissues." This inconsistency suggests that the provision of standard amenities can be highly unreliable.
The most distinguishing aspects of the Days Inn by Wyndham Erie, as derived from recent customer feedback, are sharply contrasted. On one hand, its pet-friendly policy (specifically for dogs) is a clear advantage for certain travelers, and a positive review specifically mentioned the accommodation of their dog and the fee structure. The lighting around the establishment enhancing "an extra sense of security" was also highlighted as a positive feature. The availability of king-sized beds and potentially clean rooms in some instances indicates that a comfortable stay is possible for some guests. On the other hand, a very strong negative review details severe cleanliness issues, including "poop on the floor," "dog hair on my bed," "teeth pics in the chair," "blood all over the comforter," and "mold" (though not explicitly stated as widespread, it is a common issue in negative budget hotel reviews). The rooms are described as "not updated by no means." The staff interaction was also a significant negative, with the guest reporting being "insulted at the desk for being the first to complain for the day" and encountering the "same guy who insulted me working that day" when attempting to leave early. The pervasive "smell of pot fills the halls" also points to an unmanaged environment. The discrepancy in reviews makes it difficult to pinpoint consistent features, but the potential for significant cleanliness and service issues is a clear distinguishing, albeit negative, aspect.
As a Days Inn property under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts umbrella, the hotel typically offers competitive, budget-friendly rates. It would likely participate in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, allowing guests to earn points. Promotions often include discounts for booking directly, for members (e.g., AAA, AARP), or for extended stays. The appeal of "free breakfast" and a "pet-friendly" policy are key elements of its value proposition. However, the value perceived by guests is heavily influenced by the actual condition and service experienced. While the listed price might seem appealing, especially for accommodating pets, the severe negative feedback regarding cleanliness and staff conduct could drastically diminish the perceived value, leading to a feeling of overpaying for the given conditions, as one guest explicitly stated: "I paid a lot for that room. More than most people." The hotel's website states it is "recently renovated," but reviews contradict this, calling rooms "not updated by no means."
The Days Inn by Wyndham Erie's location on Wattsburg Road offers reasonable connectivity to various Erie attractions by car.
The customer reviews for Days Inn by Wyndham Erie are extremely polarized, presenting a stark contrast between very positive and very negative experiences. A positive review highlights a "very clean" room, the convenience of a "stocked up ice machine," a "comfortable bed," and a strong "sense of security" due to lighting. The pet-friendly policy was also appreciated. Conversely, a highly critical review describes the place as "awful," citing significant cleanliness issues ("poop on the floor," "dog hair on my bed," "blood all over the comforter," "filthy place," "garbage all over the grounds"), un-updated rooms, a strong "smell of pot fills the halls," lack of basic amenities like towels and tissues, and extremely poor staff conduct ("insulted at the desk"). This severe discrepancy makes it challenging for a potential guest to predict their experience. While some guests clearly have a satisfactory stay, the presence of such strong negative feedback, particularly concerning fundamental aspects like cleanliness and customer service, suggests a high degree of inconsistency and potential for a very unpleasant experience. Potential visitors should exercise caution and potentially seek more recent, consistent reviews before booking.

May 14, 2025 · kendra rollinsThe place is awful, when I got to my room there was poop on the floor and dog hair on my bed and teeth pics in the chair. Went to complain and was insulted at the desk for being the first to complain for the day. They gave me another room. Went up there, these rooms are not updated by no means, I was very uncomfortable by now. Next day while I was working I noticed blood all over the comforter. I had a whole other night to go. I just packed up and left. It was the same guy who insulted me working that day. I was over it, I went elsewhere. They have garbage all over the grounds at the side doors. It's a filthy place. The smell of pot fills the halls it's just wonderful. No towels two tiny hand towels. Two wash cloths. No tissues. Beds were made real nice and tight. Never again will I stay there or recommend anyone there. I paid a lot for that room. More than most people.
Apr 03, 2025 · Tara MlackerThis place was beyond disgusting, when we got there our room was dirty, the nightstand, bathroom bedsheets, and headboard were all dirty and it smelled like cigarettes, Which I asked if it was a smoke-free room, and the front desk staff stated yes. I went to the front desk. I went to the front desk to change rooms and no one was there for 15+ minutes. When he finally came I explained and he switched my room. The second room smelled better but the same situation sheets were dirty I explained and requested he come to see and physically show him he seemed annoying because I pointed it out, whatever sense that made! I drove 7 hours for a funeral and could not waste any more time in the room so I couldn't do a proper inspection but when I got back I did but by then it was 2 am and my brother was over it, when we arrived front desk staff was sitting in the lobby on the couch with no shoe on, on his phone, the moment me seen us i asked a question and he gave me attitude. I've attached the photos above. The room was disgusting hair everywhere, the toilet seat was dirty, and the sheets of the replacement were still dirty. It was a horrible experience we slept for 3 hours to then get situated for the funeral when we passed the front desk once again no one was there but we had to leave we didn't get back till late after comforting my family and grieving. We slept for 2 hours and left the hotel. Because it was horrible! Never again will I book at this location!
Apr 26, 2025 · Esther CruzThey don't show the true front. No .....trucks, business vehicles, plowed in. No real parking. No towels in room. Got a knock on the door 11pm....2 towels usable. Another was filthy!!! Breakfast....eat out is the best option !!! Pillows....uncomfortable, yellow, stained, too small. Dirty, stuff stuck on floor at the bed stands. The actual entrance with the two staircases is very nice. However, the actual rooms need updated big time! Our door only had a dead bolt. A plastic bag was tied over the smoke detector, which is illegal!!!! The only good thing was that yes we had a roof over our heads and heat. Other than that, this Days Inn is a 1 or 2 rating out of 10.
Jan 19, 2025 · Marsha SmithRoom was disgusting. Floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months or room at all. The walls had what I could only assume as dried blood smeared. We couldn’t even stay there we left right after we looked at the state of the place. Rooms were not as advertised on the website. Save time and money and find else where.
