As a Hilton Diamond member, I expect at least a decent night’s rest — but my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill was a complete letdown. They supposedly placed me in one of their renovated rooms, yet the AC was both loud and ineffective. It barely cooled the room and kept me up with constant noise throughout the night. On top of that, I was placed directly next to the elevator — despite my consistent request to be placed away from it. That’s a basic preference that should be honored, especially for loyal guests. It made for a miserable workday that followed. At check-in, I received two water bottles but no bags — I had to awkwardly carry them myself, and the receptionist made no effort to assist or offer a solution. It felt rushed and inattentive. When I asked for a late checkout, I was denied, despite the hotel not appearing to be at capacity. Ultimately, I had a poor night’s sleep, and my following workday was miserable because of it. This was one of the most disappointing Hilton stays I’ve had, and I won’t be returning to this location.

However, it is important to provide a balanced perspective based on guest reviews. While some guests have praised the friendly staff and the general cleanliness of rooms, other reviews highlight significant concerns. Some guests have reported issues with room conditions, including claims of rooms being "filthy, outdated" and having "mold." Functionality of in-room amenities, specifically air conditioning, has also been a point of contention, with reports of units being "loud and ineffective" or not working at all. Noise from HVAC systems and pipes within walls has been cited as a disruption to sleep.
Concerns regarding service communication have also been raised, particularly concerning special events like wedding blocks, where guests reported a lack of responsiveness from hotel coordinators and unexpected unavailability of rooms. Issues with confirmed after-party arrangements not being communicated to the restaurant staff also point to potential internal communication challenges. Denials for late check-outs, even when the hotel appeared to have availability, have also led to dissatisfaction among loyal guests. These experiences suggest that while the hotel aims to provide certain services and features, the execution and consistency of these offerings can vary.
While specific, active promotions are dynamic and best confirmed directly with the hotel or through official booking channels, the DoubleTree by Hilton chain, and by extension this property, participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, which offers benefits such as earning points for stays, potential room upgrades, and other member-exclusive perks. Guests are often advised to check the official Hilton website or trusted online travel agencies for the most current deals and packages.
Historically, the hotel has offered flexibility with cancellation policies on certain rates. Guests interested in booking for events are encouraged to contact the hotel's events team directly to discuss their needs and capacity requirements, given the extensive event space available. While the hotel offers standard amenities, potential guests, especially those with specific preferences or planning crucial events, are advised to communicate their needs clearly and confirm details in writing to ensure expectations are met. Considering the varied guest feedback, inquiring about the most recently renovated rooms or quieter locations within the hotel, if available, could be beneficial. The hotel accepts credit cards and offers cashless transactions, with a damage deposit typically required upon arrival.

May 15, 2025 · Nathan SebsibieTerrible experience. Do not book for weddings. We had an incredibly disappointing experience with this hotel while trying to coordinate our wedding block. Communication from the hotel coordinator was practically non-existent leading up to the event, and as a result, the hotel sold out before many of our guests were even able to book rooms. To make matters worse, we had planned an after-party at the hotel’s restaurant—a detail that was supposedly confirmed in advance—but the restaurant staff had no idea. There was no setup, no preparation, nothing. As for the rooms themselves, they were filthy, outdated, and many didn’t even have functioning air conditioning. We were told all the rooms had been renovated, but that was clearly not true. Our guests were extremely uncomfortable. If you’re considering this hotel for a wedding block or any kind of special event, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This was one of the biggest letdowns of our entire wedding weekend.
Apr 25, 2025 · Josh BreenReally didn’t want to have to write a bad review. I’m a travel agent so I travel to a lot of hotels and work a lot with hotel staff and chains. I was incredibly disappointed. I was there for a wedding block and when I checked in, they informed me the room wouldn’t be ready (until the wedding started). Ok fine…whatever . I find it odd that a block of rooms wouldn’t be ready at least a couple hours early but fine. They let us check in early to a different floor. At no point was I informed that I was getting a non renovated room. I didn’t even know those existed! When we checked in, the bathroom had mold everywhere, brown stains on tub and toilet. Hairs on my pillow. I contacted front desk and staff was pretty accusatory that I was already informed it wasn’t renovated. I said no…you told me a different floor. I didn’t realize non renovated meant dirty either… The manager proceeded to admit to me “yeah I know those rooms are pretty terrible.” Then why are you putting guests in them? The manager did finally move us to a different room which is the ONLY reason I’m not giving 1 star. My friend who stayed in bridal suite later found a bed bug on her bag when she got home. I contacted the staff with pictures. They did have third party pest control come and look and said they didn’t find any bed bugs…they would not refund the bride’s room despite the fact that her and her guest spent a lot and gave the hotel a ton of business . I understand we cannot prove the bed bug came from there but it seems highly likely given the state of hotel. Needs major upgrades and better customer service.
Mar 26, 2025 · Melanie MartinOur experience at this hotel was truly a nightmare. From the moment we arrived on Thursday, April 10th, we were never informed that the hotel was under renovation. We were given a room on the 7th floor where, from the start, the heating system didn’t work. We spent the entire weekend cold inside the room, even though the outside temperature was around 32 degrees, and there was no way to warm the room. The worst part was what happened in the bathroom. From the second day, we noticed the carpet in front of the bathroom was wet. On the last day, the bathroom completely flooded due to a leak coming from the ceiling, which practically collapsed on us. We couldn’t use the bathroom either to shower or for basic needs because it was completely filled with water. I can only thank God that when I got up at night and walked into the bathroom without turning on the light, although I slipped and fell on the floor, nothing worse happened. When we went down to the front desk to report it, I explained everything to the young lady who checked us out. She called the manager on duty, and the only thing they offered was a breakfast and some points, which doesn’t make up for anything. The least they could have done was apply a discount to our rate, because the room was honestly a horror, in completely unacceptable conditions. To make matters worse, the carpet throughout the entire room ended up soaked. We couldn’t walk barefoot; we had to keep our shoes on the whole time. Despite our reports, no one ever took any action to address the situation. It is truly disappointing and frustrating to pay a significant amount of money and receive this kind of service. I feel like I was robbed right in front of my face.
Apr 16, 2025 · Maria TorresGreat choice - for location, price, and services, even when completely booked. Views are nice from Riverside rooms. Rooms were cozy in winter temp weather. Resturant offered good and tasty options. Staff was always courteous and helpful. :)
