The room was clean and looked like a mini apartment, complete with a small stove, sink and full refrigerator/freezer. The bed was super comfortable. I loved the shower with a small seat built in. The only thing that marred my experience was that the outlet in the bathroom didn’t work. Other than that it was a great value for my 2 night stay and convenient to local shopping of all kinds!!

Operating under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, it aims to provide functional and affordable accommodation with amenities that mimic a mini-apartment setup. Its strategic location in Maple Shade, New Jersey, offers convenient access to major roadways, facilitating travel to Philadelphia and surrounding areas, making it suitable for both business travelers on longer assignments and individuals seeking economical lodging solutions.
The environment at HomeTowne Studios Philadelphia - Maple Shade, NJ, is structured to offer a sense of independent living. The hotel typically features exterior corridor access, which can appeal to guests who prefer direct entry to their rooms. The concept behind HomeTowne Studios is to provide a no-frills, practical environment for long-term guests. While one positive review highlights a clean room resembling a mini-apartment, complete with a comfortable bed and a functional shower, other feedback paints a starkly different picture of the hotel's overall condition and environment. Reports of strong odors like mildew and cigarette smoke, visibly dirty floors, and significant cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, including mold, discoloration, and unpleasant smells, indicate a considerable inconsistency in room quality and maintenance. Guests should be aware that the actual environmental experience can vary significantly, ranging from a satisfactory, clean space to one with notable cleanliness and structural concerns. The emphasis on "no frills" can sometimes translate to a lack of detailed upkeep, as suggested by the critical reviews.
In terms of services, HomeTowne Studios Philadelphia - Maple Shade, NJ, focuses on providing essential conveniences for extended stays. The hotel is equipped with amenities designed to support a self-sufficient stay. This includes in-room kitchenettes, a primary feature that allows guests to prepare their own meals, which can be a significant cost-saving benefit for longer durations. Each kitchenette typically includes a small stove, a sink, and a full refrigerator/freezer, as confirmed by positive guest feedback. While the hotel aims for functionality, the efficiency of certain services and amenities has been questioned. For instance, the experience with demagnetized room keys indicates potential issues with the hotel's infrastructure or key card system. While basic electrical outlets are reported to be functional, critical reviews point to non-functioning bathroom outlets, problematic televisions with burned-out screens and intermittent remotes, and air conditioning units that struggle to maintain settings. These issues directly impact the comfort and convenience that the services are intended to provide. The level of customer service and management responsiveness has also been a point of concern, with some guests reporting a perceived lack of attention to complaints regarding room conditions.
The key features of HomeTowne Studios Philadelphia - Maple Shade, NJ, are its studio-style rooms, which are designed to function like small apartments. Each room typically includes a sleeping area, a workspace, and the aforementioned kitchenette. The comfortable beds have been highlighted by some guests as a positive feature, though others have reported issues with beds being in very poor condition, even broken. The showers are noted for having a small built-in seat, a thoughtful touch for comfort and accessibility. Beyond the in-room amenities, the hotel aims to offer convenience through its location. It is advertised as being convenient to local shopping of all kinds, which is a valuable feature for guests on extended stays or those looking to explore the area. The availability of a full refrigerator/freezer is particularly beneficial for guests who plan to store groceries and prepare meals. However, it is crucial to note that the functionality and condition of these features can be inconsistent. Issues such as non-working bathroom fans, dirty and mold-infested bathroom areas, and defective televisions significantly detract from the intended functionality and guest experience. The hotel's emphasis on policies like vehicle parking over room quality has also been raised as a point of contention, suggesting a need for a re-evaluation of priorities to improve the overall guest experience.
For promotional information, HomeTowne Studios Philadelphia - Maple Shade, NJ, primarily targets budget-conscious travelers and those in need of extended-stay accommodation in the Philadelphia area. Its position within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category makes it an accessible option for individuals searching for nearby lodging with self-catering capabilities. The promise of an apartment-like setup at an economical price point is the main draw. It is marketed as a practical choice for business trips, relocations, or any situation requiring a longer stay where a full kitchen is desired. The proximity to local shopping and dining options further enhances its appeal for guests who value convenience and self-sufficiency. However, potential guests should be advised to carefully consider the highly mixed nature of the reviews. While some have found it to be a great value for a short stay, others have reported severely unsatisfactory conditions that would warrant caution. Therefore, while the hotel aims to be a solution for extended stays, prospective guests should set their expectations realistically, perhaps contacting the hotel directly to inquire about specific room conditions or recent renovations. May 19, 2025 · Tahara BaldwinI recently stayed at Hometowne Studios in New Jersey with my roommate during a business trip, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we encountered several issues. The room keys repeatedly became demagnetized despite us taking care to keep them away from electronic devices. However, this turned out to be a minor concern compared to the overall condition of the room. Upon entering, we were met with a strong odor of mildew and cigarette smoke. The floors were visibly dirty, making it uncomfortable to walk around without shoes. The beds were in very poor condition—one even made a snapping sound and sagged noticeably when sat upon, suggesting it may have been broken. The bathroom was especially concerning. There was an unidentified brown liquid running down the walls, visible mold and dirt throughout the shower area, and the caulking around the sink was discolored and mold-infested. The bathroom fan did not function, which likely contributed to the worsening wall condition. Additionally, the bathroom emitted strong odors of feces and urine. The television in the room was also defective—the screen was burned out and unwatchable, and the remote control worked only intermittently. We were forced to unplug the unit just to turn it off. The air conditioning unit was also problematic; it would not maintain the "high" fan setting, which made it difficult to keep the room comfortable overnight. The only functional aspects of the room were the refrigerator, which kept food cold, and the electrical outlets, which worked as expected. Given the overall state of the accommodations, I would not recommend this location to anyone. It is evident that more attention is being given to policies like how vehicles are parked rather than to the quality of the guest experience. Improving the cleanliness, maintenance, and functionality of the rooms should be a far greater priority. Regrettably, we will not be returning, and I suspect our sentiments are shared by many guests who have stayed here for short-term visits.
May 16, 2025 · Madison MDO NOT STAY HERE. I placed a reservation online which let me know that first pet stays free, i called before checking in to confirm reservation, i asked about ANY additional fees. The young lady at the front desk was nice, but seemed off. She told me that there is a pet fee, i adv that online it stated that first pet is free and also my dog is my esa prescribed by my therapist. I am in between homes right now and needed to unload to gather everything. (Had i known i needed it here i would have had it in hand to check in with no issues) i was charged the room fee, then she tells me that i have to pay a deposit separately, then she tells me i had to pay the pet fee separately and also an early check in fee. I’m confused because i clarified that we spoke on the phone and i asked about pricing. Not all places require deposit. I’m aware some do. I called customer service to clarify about my ESA, rep adv that pet fee is $10 a night $100 max a week, i was told i was charged $15 a night for my pet, and when the rep called the property the front desk told her that i was arguing with her and refused to provide paperwork. I am literally exhausted, no energy to argue i have anxiety and ptsd, the last thing i want to be is uncomfortable or make anyone uncomfortable. I go to the room and the key is faulty. So i went down to get a new key, there was an older woman who attended me and became IMMEDIATELY confrontational about me calling customer service saying that I LIED. I asked her to not call me a liar, i have the paperwork just need to u load my car. I asked her if she was there and if she checked me in? She said no, but the girl told her. I said you have three cameras pointed at me right now. You can run it back. I had LEGITIMATE questions about what I’m being charged for and policies. She started SCREAMING at me, speaking over me, while i was on the phone with customer service she kept speaking over me, the rep advised me that all calls are recorded. I am literally shaking from this experience as it was uncalled for entirely. Oh and because of her unprofessionalism being reported she added me to the DNR list AS IF i would EVER come back or recommend this place to anyone.

Mar 29, 2025 · Родиков ВячеславI had to stay here due to widespread flight outages and no other hotels available nearby. I wouldn’t stay again, even in an emergency. I would’ve been more comfortable just pulling an all-nighter at the airport. The room smelled terrible — an overwhelming, bitter odor that never mellowed. The floor was sticky, with blobs of dirt clearly not cleaned. I kept my suitcase closed to try to keep the smell from getting into my things. The bedding and towels had visible stains, and the whole space felt neglected and potentially unsanitary. No bedbugs that I could tell, thank God, but I slept in my clothes and never took off my socks because the floor was that gross. My socks would stick to the floor slightly with each step. I left as early as I could the next morning. I didn’t want to take a shower in the room, but I felt that the odor of the room was clinging to me so tightly that I might disturb my seat mates on the plane. I shampooed my hair twice to hopefully get the smelll out. I did not open my suitcase for more than a few minutes to keep the odor out of it as best I could. I understand this is a budget hotel, but cleanliness and basic maintenance shouldn’t be optional. I hope they can turn things around — no one deserves to arrive here exhausted and get hit with this kind of experience. I suppose I could’ve gone straight back to the front desk and asked for a better room, but the grubby little lobby had been chock-a-block with cranky travelers and the staff seemed overwhelmed as it was. My best bet was to just gut it out till morning. I left the tv and a light on all night to make me feel less afraid.
