This place was absolutely horrible! We prepaid a 5 day stay through Expedia that was supposed to include breakfast and microwave in the room. We arrive to learn that breakfast was an extra $25 per person, per day. We walk into the room to see no microwave so I call downstairs. Again, another $15 fee per day if we want a microwave. Then we learn the toilet doesn't flush and had to call maintenance. The next morning I learn the coffee maker is broken. Then the refrigerator stopped working. Noise level was also ridiculous at early morning. I made countless attempts to address with with the hotel staff yet no one cared. The room was semi clean and dated. Lastly, on our last night we were startled by a harsh knocking at our door at 5:50am that claimed to be responding to a "noise complaint" on a floor that was dead silent. The only decent thing about this place was the location. Otherwise it's a disgrace. I will definitely be talking to my bank about the $207 per night I was charged for half of the amenities upon arrival and horrible experience. Shame on this place!
For individuals in Bengaluru, India, searching on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform for accommodation options globally, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Fort Lee - George Washington Bridge at 2117 Route 4 Eastbound, Fort Lee, NJ 07024, USA, is an establishment that warrants a detailed and objective introduction. The hotel can be reached via phone at (201) 461-9000 or mobile phone at +1 201-461-9000. It is crucial to provide a comprehensive overview based on the provided customer feedback, which offers a critical perspective on the guest experience at this property.
When considering the environment of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Fort Lee, its most consistently acknowledged feature, even by dissatisfied guests, is its location. Situated on Route 4 Eastbound and in close proximity to the George Washington Bridge, it offers convenient access to New York City. This strategic position is a primary reason why travelers might consider this hotel, as it allows for easy commuting to Manhattan while avoiding the direct commotion and higher costs often associated with staying within the city itself. Despite its advantageous external location, the internal environment of the hotel, as described by recent guests, presents significant concerns. Reviews indicate issues such as a "lingering, sickening odor" in the rooms that intensified with the heater, making the space uncomfortable and even causing physical illness. The general ambiance within the rooms is described as "outdated, dark, and depressing," not aligning with the expectations one might have from a 4-star rating or typical hotel photographs. This suggests that while the external positioning is strong, the internal living environment may not meet modern standards of comfort and freshness.
Regarding services, the customer reviews highlight significant shortcomings and a perceived lack of responsiveness from the hotel staff. Guests reported issues with pre-paid amenities not being honored, such as breakfast being an unexpected extra charge of "$25 per person, per day," and a microwave costing an additional "$15 fee per day." This suggests a discrepancy between advertised inclusions and actual offerings upon arrival, leading to frustration. Furthermore, attempts to address multiple in-room problems—including a non-flushing toilet, a broken coffee maker, a non-working refrigerator, and noise disturbances—were met with indifference, as one guest stated, "no one cared." The inability of the in-room phone to work meant guests had to "physically go downstairs to speak to the front desk" for any request, which is described as "completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one branded as Hilton." This indicates severe deficiencies in basic guest services and staff attentiveness, raising concerns about the hotel's operational efficiency and commitment to guest satisfaction. The alleged early morning "noise complaint" visit, despite the floor being "dead silent," further points to chaotic or uncoordinated service interactions.
The features of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Fort Lee, as experienced by recent guests, appear to be significantly compromised. While a Hilton-branded hotel typically boasts certain amenities, the reviews suggest that these may not be functional or adequately maintained. Key issues with in-room features include:
These detailed accounts suggest that many of the expected features of a branded hotel are either broken, poorly maintained, or contribute to an unpleasant stay. The overall impression is that the property has made "minimal effort to maintain or upgrade the space," leading to a significant disparity between its brand affiliation and actual guest experience.
For promotional information within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, it is imperative to provide an objective and balanced view, especially given the stark negative reviews. While the hotel's official marketing would likely emphasize its "Hilton" brand, its location near the George Washington Bridge, and amenities such as on-site dining, an indoor pool, and a fitness center, the current customer feedback necessitates a cautionary approach for prospective guests.
An objective promotion would state that the hotel's primary advantage is its strategic location at 2117 Route 4 Eastbound, Fort Lee, NJ 07024, USA, offering convenient access to New York City via the George Washington Bridge. It provides 24-hour phone support at (201) 461-9000 and +1 201-461-9000. However, potential guests should be advised to manage their expectations regarding the condition of the rooms, the functionality of in-room amenities, and the consistency of service. Given the detailed complaints, it would be prudent for individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" to consider these reviews carefully, especially if cleanliness, functional amenities, and a quiet environment are high priorities. While some standard DoubleTree features like the warm cookie might still be offered, the overall experience, as described by recent guests, does not align with the perceived standard of a Hilton property. The hotel's value proposition appears to be significantly undermined by the reported issues, making it a choice potentially only for those who prioritize location above all other factors and are willing to accept considerable compromises on comfort, cleanliness, and service quality.

Dec 29, 2024 · J VI recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Fort Lee - George Washington Bridge, and I strongly advise against staying here. This was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences I’ve had, and I’m shocked this property carries the Hilton name. The room was outdated, dark, and depressing—nothing like the photos or the 4-star rating it claims. It felt like stepping into a hotel frozen in time, with minimal effort to maintain or upgrade the space. The worst part was the smell. From the moment I entered, there was a lingering, sickening odor that only intensified when I tried to use the heater. The smell made me physically ill. Turning off the heater didn’t solve the problem; the odor remained, and I was left freezing in the room. There was no way to feel comfortable. The towels were disgusting, clearly not properly washed or replaced, and smelled foul—almost as if they had been reused from a previous guest. To make matters worse, I could hear conversations from other guests during the late night hours (around 2-3 a.m.), making it impossible to get restful sleep. Adding insult to injury, the in-room phone didn’t work, which meant that any time I needed something, I had to physically go downstairs to speak to the front desk. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one branded as Hilton. I cannot stress this enough—this hotel is a disaster. Until it undergoes a major overhaul, avoid it at all costs. It does not live up to the Hilton standard and is absolutely not worth the price.
Dec 31, 2024 · ErikI had the house keeper clean the room and the girl took my wife’s earrings. Breakfast is always cold. I booked the presidential suite and I might as well stayed in a motel 6. The room had stains all over the carpet, the tables were broken, chairs were broken, stuff all over the windows. I went to use the gym and the door was locked. The front desk agent told me to make a complaint against his co worker. Instead of throwing someone else under the bus which makes everyone else look bad. They should have a checklist. As a diamond member I would never come back to this hotel.
Dec 30, 2024 · Ryan BrownThe man at check in was not nice, he had a very bad attitude, he is not customer friendly. The location of the hotel is not for people coming by foot, that was very disappointing. I went to the hotel restaurant and that was a big mistake. I ordered a veggie burger, the guy just came and dropped it on the table and went back to talk to his coworkers. I needed some mayo and it took 6 minutes for them to stop talking and turn around. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if the workers are not properly trained in customer service. I also would not recommend this hotel if you don't have a car.
Nov 20, 2024 · Dane CampbellThis is Mrs Simone. I have to say that George, Fernando and William went above and beyond for me. My husband had surgery and the staff really put me at ease even when i thought they would keep my husband an extra night at hospital. It was World Series and hotel was booked up yet they told me if i need a room during my emergency, they’ll find a room for me. They made me feel wonderful. God bless them - truly special ppl. The view from my window was so pretty in daytime and at night. The food at the restaurant was very good plus they had gluten free pasta for my shrimp scampi. My room was clean, shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. I would stay here again and i recommend this hotel.
