We stayed at this hotel from 3-29-2025 to 3-30-2025. Our room was on the ninth floor and it had two double beds. Although room was overall decent, there was a dent across the room door from the inside. Bathroom was somewhat cramped; sink and shower were right next to each other. Parking was hard because we arrived late and garage was closed. Parking is also expensive at $39 per day. We ended up parking near a curb and it was free on weekend. The buffet breakfast was very good and staff were very nice and helpful. Curtis at the checkout made sure it was quick and easy. We will possibly stay here again if parking is easier and if bathrooms are more spacious.

Reviews mention "dent across the room door" or rooms being "kinda beat up," indicating that despite renovations, some wear and tear may be present. Cleanliness is generally well-rated, but occasional issues like stains or unvacuumed floors have been mentioned in older reviews. Noise levels, particularly from the road, can be a concern for some rooms. The temporary closure of the pool for renovations is also a point to consider. However, the comfortable beds and good pillows are often highlighted as positive aspects.

Apr 01, 2025 · Neeraj GuptaGreat location! Valet parking appreciated and valet staff was very accommodating. Had breakfast at The Grille. It was very good. Maps shows what appears to be The Kitchen and Grille with different menu items that I was very excited about; however, it appears to be the same restaurant without all of the menu items listed online. Pool looks lovely but was closed for renovations.
Apr 20, 2025 · cheryl millerI would not recommend this hotel at all. They claim parking for $39.00 a night but when I checked in, they claim they had no parking and that i was to use their adjacent lot right across the street. They made it sound like it was a part of their extended parking but it wasn't and I was charged $114.00 for the night. They haven't been helpful at all regarding the $75.00 difference. Also the bed slanted down making for a terrible night of sleeping. Ice machine was broken. Just overall a terrible experience. Definitely think twice before booking.
May 17, 2025 · Lori BonnerQuiet Stay, Helpful Staff, But Hotel Needs Updates I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton in downtown Pittsburgh. While the hotel was quiet and the beds were comfortable, the room itself felt outdated. The layout was a bit odd, and I would have preferred queen beds instead of doubles. The carpet was worn, the mini fridge was pretty beat up, and the washroom was quite small. One concerning detail was the blue tape covering the smoke alarm, which didn’t inspire confidence in the room’s upkeep. On the positive side, the staff were helpful and polite, quickly delivering towels when requested. The lobby was clean and well-maintained, which gave a good first impression. I heard renovations are coming soon, and they’re definitely needed. Overall, an okay stay, but I’d consider returning after the updates.
Mar 14, 2025 · C MacIf the rooms were more up to date and not so rundown I would have easily given it 4 stars. It gave the impression Double Tree didn’t care. See my comments below for further explanation. In addition, as a Silver member, you would think parking would be free. $39 plus tip to park. There are no other options available nearby. You are pretty much forced to park in the hotel. They call it “Valet Parking” however, there is NO option to park the car yourself. With that said, the parking attendants are very effecient.
