Environment and Ambiance

Eastwind Hotel - Oliverea Valley is a newly-built property, having debuted in January 2023, and marks the brand's first ground-up construction. This allowed for intentional design, heavily inspired by rural Scandinavian and Baltic aesthetics, emphasizing clean lines, natural materials, and an earthy color palette that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. The hotel is nestled in a lush mountainside in Big Indian, framed by three 3,000-foot peaks, offering both stunning sunrise and sunset views. The calming sounds of Esopus Creek, which runs alongside the property, further enhance the serene environment. The property spans 47 woodland acres, providing a true sense of seclusion and immersion in nature. Guests can choose from various accommodation types, including traditional hotel rooms in the main lodge and distinctive A-frame Lushna cabins. The lodge rooms are furnished with vintage mid-century pieces, creating a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere. The Lushna cabins, imported from Slovenia, exemplify minimalist Nordic simplicity, offering a unique "glamping" experience without sacrificing comfort. Features like large windows, vaulted ceilings, and private patios or decks in many rooms seamlessly connect the indoors with the stunning outdoor landscape. The overall ambiance is deeply rooted in the Scandinavian concept of "Hygge" – signifying contentment and coziness – promoting a profound sense of calm and relaxation, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and natural beauty when searching on "Hotels Near Of Me."

Picturesque Catskill resort with beautiful Scandinavian style cabins and traditional hotel rooms! Super dog friendly! We loved this resort that feels off the beaten path but is also 30 minutes from so many great spots to eat and hike. The resort itself has a great restaurant called Dandelion and we ate there almost every night, not that there aren’t other very good restaurants within 30, it’s just so nice to walk 100 feet to great food and drinks. The staff were fantastic all-around, from the front desk, service, and restaurant. We enjoyed waking up to a breakfast basket outside our room each morning and dinner next to a fire each night. I wish we could remember everyone’s names (our fault for not remembering) as the chef, bartender, and wait staff were awesome and work together to extremely well. Particular shout out to Natasha our primary host each night at dinner who treated us and our dog so kindly. The resort also offers complementary classes like cocktail making and foraging. We did not have time for the cocktail class but the cocktails were very good at dinner. We did do the foraging class and enjoyed learning more about the local environment and trying some very good mushroom and mint drinks from products foraged from the local area.

Amazing experience at Eastwind Oliverea. We stayed in a lushna suite. I had them set it up for a romantic surprise with balloons and snacks. It came up to about $30. Not sure if I would do that again because I expected more balloons and they were kind of small, but the snacks were great! Natasha, our server in the dandelion restaurant was energetic and super nice. She was a great resource for things to do in the area. The food at the dandelion was surprisingly good. And the drinks, particularly the rum drink, was delicious and well balanced. I stayed at the Windham location before and this one is better (Windham is definitely nice) But, the restaurant/lounge makes it better than Windham because it’s much bigger, but still has a cozy vibe. The Lushna Suite, albeit expensive, is nice to have with a living room and porch. Nice to lounge in another area that’s not the bed and it’s great to have the bathroom en-suite. Would highly recommend staying.

It's impossible to lavish enough praise onto this hotel. The rooms paired with the location are incredible while the service and people were heartwarming and lovely. Paired right, we got fresh snow overnight, this can turn truly epic. We kept thinking that the niceties can't be topped out anymore and the people/hotel just kept surprising us. Highly recommend, including the morning breakfast basket and eating at the Dandelion restaurant

Quaint, well-lit, very quiet, and remote getaway. A perfect retrieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. The sauna, light room, and wellness center were easy to book and super well manicured. They had super cute Hunter boots that you could borrow throughout the trip at no cost to preserve your shoes from the muddy terrain. We would definitely stay again 9.1/10.0
