For local users and travelers searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Econo Lodge located at 1360 Virginia Ave, Atlanta, GA 30344, USA, is a property that frequently appears. As part of the Choice Hotels brand, this Econo Lodge aims to provide essential, budget-friendly accommodation. This detailed introduction will objectively present its environment, services, features, and promotional information, incorporating both positive and negative insights from real customer reviews to provide a comprehensive and balanced perspective.
Econo Lodge is strategically situated on Virginia Avenue, placing it approximately 2.9 miles (a 6-minute drive) from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). This makes it a highly convenient option for travelers needing close proximity to the airport for early flights, late arrivals, or layovers. The immediate environment is typical of an airport hotel district, with a mix of commercial properties and other hospitality establishments. While not a scenic area, its practicality for airport access is a major draw.
Beyond the airport, the hotel offers relatively easy access to key regional attractions. It is within a short driving distance of the Delta Flight Museum (1.2 miles), Georgia International Convention Center (2.3 miles), Porsche Experience Center (2.4 miles), and Gateway Center Arena (2.5 miles). Downtown Atlanta, with its array of attractions such as the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, is approximately 6.7 miles away, making it accessible for those who wish to explore the city without staying in the busier downtown core. Various dining options and convenience stores can be found in the surrounding College Park/East Point area.
However, it is crucial to note that customer reviews present a mixed picture of the hotel's physical environment. While some guests found the location convenient, others have reported concerns about the general state of the property, including "broken glass on the stairs and outside leading to the room," suggesting issues with cleanliness and maintenance of common areas. The perception of the environment can therefore vary significantly among guests.
As an Econo Lodge, the hotel primarily offers basic services and amenities aimed at providing a functional stay. These typically include:
Free Wi-Fi: Complimentary wireless internet access is available in guest rooms and common areas, enabling guests to stay connected.
Free Continental Breakfast: The hotel advertises a "free continental breakfast" daily, including coffee and tea. However, like many budget hotels, the quality and variety of this breakfast can be limited. While one review praises the "staff was very helpful and nice" and doesn't mention breakfast, other Econo Lodge reviews in the broader area often suggest that breakfast offerings are minimal.
24-Hour Front Desk: A front desk is staffed around the clock to assist guests with check-in, check-out, and any inquiries. Customer reviews specifically praise the "night and day shift staff" for being "very helpful and nice."
Seasonal Outdoor Pool: The hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool, offering a recreational option during warmer months.
Free Self-Parking: Complimentary self-parking is available on-site, including space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a significant advantage for guests traveling with their own vehicles.
In-Room Conveniences: Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a TV (often 32-inch or 40-inch with cable channels and pay movies), a microwave, refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, desk, iron/ironing board, and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Free cribs/infant beds are available upon request.
Daily Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are provided daily to maintain cleanliness.
Business Facilities: A business center and meeting rooms are available, catering to the needs of business travelers.
Elevator: The property is equipped with an elevator, providing easier access to all floors.
Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel welcomes pets for an additional fee (e.g., $18 per pet, per night, for two pets of any size; service animals exempt). Crated pets may be left alone in rooms, and there is a grassy area on-site for pet relief.
Check-in time starts at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. A valid photo ID and credit card are required at check-in. A refundable damage deposit (e.g., $1000, though this seems exceptionally high and might be a typo in some listings, more commonly $50-$100) may be collected as cash and refunded upon check-out, subject to property inspection. The minimum age for check-in is 21.
As an Econo Lodge, its primary feature is its focus on affordability and essential lodging. Its close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport makes it a prime choice for airport-related stays. The presence of free parking, including for larger vehicles, further enhances its appeal to road travelers.
However, the customer reviews provide a stark contrast in experiences, highlighting significant variability in the hotel's condition and guest satisfaction. One positive review praises specific aspects:
Cleanliness: "room was clean," "bathroom was clean and had all the towels and soap you need."
Functional Amenities: "ac looked new and worked perfectly."
Staff Service: "the night and day shift staff was very helpful and nice."
Conversely, a severely negative review paints a picture of extreme disrepair and uncleanliness, describing the property as "in such disrepair and unclean in my life," looking "like a scene from SVU." Specific issues mentioned include:
Severe Disrepair: "broken glass on the stairs and outside," "rust all over the room," "air conditioning unit looked like it was going to fall out of the wall any moment."
Uncleanliness: "bedding was stained."
Refund Issues: Despite leaving "in less than a minute" due to the unacceptable conditions, the guest was reportedly not refunded, despite being told they would be.
This wide disparity in feedback is a critical point for potential guests. It suggests that while some rooms or experiences might meet basic expectations for a budget hotel, there is a significant risk of encountering rooms or areas in very poor condition. Online rating aggregators also reflect this, with average cleanliness scores often being low (e.g., 4.4/10 or 4.9/10), while staff and service sometimes receive slightly higher but still moderate ratings (e.g., 5.6/10 or 6.6/10). The overall property conditions and facilities often score poorly (e.g., 4.0/10 or 5.4/10).
As a Choice Hotels brand, Econo Lodge participates in the Choice Privileges Rewards program, allowing guests to earn points for future stays. The hotel is listed on the official Choice Hotels website (choicehotels.com) and various major online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Expedia, Hotels.com, and Priceline. These platforms are the primary avenues for booking and for finding promotional information.
Promotional offers typically include:
Advance Purchase Rates: Discounts for booking in advance.
Seasonal Deals: Special pricing during off-peak times or specific travel periods.
Member Discounts: Exclusive rates for Choice Privileges members, AAA, AARP, or military personnel.
Prices for rooms at Econo Lodge at 1360 Virginia Ave can vary significantly based on demand, seasonality, and the booking platform. Rates can range from around $50-$60 up to $80 or more per night. Guests should always review the specific cancellation policies before booking, as fully refundable rates may be available but often come with stricter cancellation deadlines.
For direct inquiries, the hotel can be reached at (404) 761-5201 or +1 404-761-5201. However, given the widely divergent customer experiences, it is highly recommended that prospective guests meticulously review the most recent customer reviews and ratings on multiple platforms before making a reservation. While the promise of an affordable room close to the airport is appealing for those searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," the risk of encountering severe maintenance and cleanliness issues, as detailed in some reviews, is a significant factor to consider. The "Do not stay here ever!" sentiment from one customer serves as a strong cautionary note.

May 17, 2025 · Maurice SiwiakDo not stay here ever! We got stuck at the airport due to weather and everything else was booked. We now know why! After we checked in we went to the room, and immediately turned around. I have never seen a hotel or room in such disrepair and unclean in my life. It looked like a scene from SVU. There was broken glass on the stairs and outside leading to the room. There was rust all over the room. The bedding was stained, and the air conditioning unit looked like it was going to fall out of the wall any moment. We immediately went back to the front desk to say that we would not be staying there. They still have not refunded us the money for the room even though we went back in less than a minute and were told we would be.
May 12, 2025 · Jessica PieriYou know you are in for a treat when the insist that you have ten minutes to decide if your room will work for you. This place is in desperate need of renovation. There have been countless layers of half ass maintenance layered on top of each other the results in a place that feels dirty despite the fact that I believe the cleaning crew does a decent job all things considered. It was supposed to be a non smoking room but I feel like someone has smoked in that room before and how would they know because there was no smoke detector (which also seems illegal). I have never stayed in a hotel that didn't have a chair. I was only there for one night and the bed was comfortable enough and my room appeared to have a newish AC. Above all that I hate being lied to. I understand that you are limited to a certain expectation when you book the cheapest place in the area, but I hate being lied to. A huge consideration for me was that they had an airport shuttle. I know it can be had to get google to update a listing but on their actual website it says they have a shuttle. When I called about it, they said they don't have one. So, I frustratingly took an Uber. There was a van in their driveway with a flat tire in the driveway. I'm not sure if that was the shuttle but you either need to fix it, comp my Uber, or update your listing. There were a couple other things they are dishonest about: photos, business center, ice machine, pool, etc. All in all, try to avoid this place if possible.
Apr 12, 2025 · Alex HoppThe guy at the counter was nice so I will give be them that. But when I thought to myself “How bad could it be?”, wow. I am not sure you could get a $2 hooker to hang out here. My flight was canceled late at night and everything was booked solid so this was pretty much the last choice or sleep at the airport. I would give it a 1/2 star if I could and am rethinking the not sleeping at the airport decision. Let’s see: Dead bugs on the ground (I guess they do spray), AC smelled like urine when I turned it on, and enough cigarette burns on the bed cover to entertain me trying to count how many I can find like it’s a Connect the Dots book. TV isn’t hooked up but you can turn it on and watch the “no signal” show, coax and HDMI cords are just hanging free. Smoke detector wires are capped off hanging out of the box, just no actual smoke detector. Bathroom outlet is burned and dead. I just needed a bed and a shower so I could catch my delayed flight in the morning. Wish me luck….
Jan 11, 2025 · Eric McDonaldBecause of the recent snow in atlanta and plane cancellations, this hotel was the only hotel available at the last minute. The water in the showor was lukewarm at best, and then water didn't drain out of the shower,so you had to washinn the sink. If you wanted Ihot water. The A c/ heater did not warm the room until until the next day, I kept my belongings in a plastic bag and the light on in the bathroom because, yep, you guessed it roaches. The only bright spot was. The locato the airport. And to food sources, which really didn't matter because of the snow, everything was closed, Besides waffle house and mcdonald's. The mattress wasn't bad either.Which I thoroughly inspected with a bright light, lol.
