I wanted to give it a few days to cool down to post my review, Just to make sure the horrible experience really happened. It was my fault, I should have read the reviews before booking. We came to Georgia for a basketball tournament. We booked here because we were looking for a room with a full kitchen and with the sports tournaments in town, options were rather limited. Extended Stay must be aware of this and decided to scam customers into booking with them by making these rooms available on their website, just to let us know on arrival that the room we booked is not available. "We don't know how that happened". You can tell James has his spiel down to a tee. Also, I booked directly through their site, a month in advance, using my Extended Perks account, not a third party booking site. We got to our room and it smelled horrible, like stale cigarettes and a dirty mop. The floor was still wet. The couch and pull out looked like someone had perished on it, bathroom counter was filled with burn marks [no smoking policy? RIGHT....] The "kitchen" was in horrible condition, as you can see. They also DO NOT provide any pots and pans, they have them available for $40. After a 10 hour drive, we checked in at 4pm and had to head to my kid's basketball practice. We return to the room exhausted and hungry around. Just to find NOT EVEN THE MICROWAVE WORKS. That was the last straw for us, we went down and requested a full refund and left immediately. It seemed like the girl was used to the situation, she offered another room or a full return. I booked at another hotel and requested a refund- which there were no issues with. Woke up the next morning with a charge for 1 night. I called the hotel right away (within the hour of receiving the email about the charge) and was informed James is no longer available. He came in to run the reports, charge us for a night and left for the day. Aside from pulling out the bed, we did not touch anything. Just sanitized all the surfaces. But, the girl on the phone said he made that decision since they weren't able to book the room to anyone else. However, we were offered to change rooms, there were clearly other rooms available for them to offer/book. Please do not book here. Spend a little more and go somewhere else. Save yourself, your family from this unfortunate experience.

It offers free self-parking on site, including wheelchair-accessible parking, which is a convenient amenity for guests with vehicles.
Extended Stay America Select Suites - Atlanta - Kennesaw Chastain Rd. is primarily characterized by its focus on providing amenities that support longer stays. A key feature across all its suites is the inclusion of a fully-equipped kitchen. This typically means a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave, enabling guests to prepare their own meals and potentially save on dining costs. While the availability of pots, pans, and dishes might vary or require a purchase (as noted in some guest reviews), the presence of kitchen facilities is a core aspect of the extended stay concept.
Connectivity is addressed with complimentary Wi-Fi available in all suites and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected for work, leisure, or communication. For laundry needs, the hotel provides on-site guest laundry facilities, typically open 24/7, which is a significant convenience for long-term guests. Housekeeping services are structured based on the length of stay: for stays of one to seven nights, fresh towels and linens are available at the front desk (sometimes for a fee), while for stays of eight or more nights, a full-service housekeeping is usually provided weekly or bi-weekly. Additional cleaning services can often be purchased for a fee.
The hotel is pet-friendly, welcoming dogs and cats, although fees and restrictions may apply. This makes it a suitable option for travelers who wish to bring their furry companions along. Other general amenities include air conditioning, a TV in common areas, and a front-desk safe. The property is generally smoke-free, with all suites designated as non-smoking. There are also exclusive member rates available for those who join the "Extended Perks" program, which is a free rewards program offering instant savings and free perks. Occasional flash sales, such as the Memorial Day Flash Sale mentioned, can offer significant discounts (e.g., up to 58% off) for stays at participating hotels when booked directly through their website by a specific deadline.
Guests are encouraged to book directly through the Extended Stay America website to potentially access the best rates and benefit from loyalty programs. The hotel accepts credit cards for payment at check-in, with a valid photo ID also required. A cash deposit may be requested if a credit card is not available. While the hotel aims to provide a comfortable extended stay experience, it is important to consider common feedback from past guests. Several reviews indicate inconsistencies in the quality of service and room condition. Some guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including unpleasant odors, wet floors upon check-in, and visible wear and tear on furniture. There have also been instances where booked room types with full kitchens were not available upon arrival, or kitchen appliances like microwaves were not functioning. Additionally, some guests have mentioned that essential kitchen items like pots and pans are not provided by default and require a separate purchase.
Customer service experiences have been mixed. While some guests praised staff for being friendly and helpful, others reported challenges with communication and resolution, particularly regarding room availability or charges after cancellation. It's recommended that guests confirm their booking details and room amenities upon arrival to ensure they align with expectations. Given the feedback, prospective guests should carefully read recent reviews and consider their priorities for an extended stay, weighing the benefits of the full kitchen and pet-friendly policy against potential inconsistencies in room quality and service.
In summary, Extended Stay America Select Suites - Atlanta - Kennesaw Chastain Rd. positions itself as a practical and affordable option for those needing longer-term lodging in Kennesaw. Its key offerings of full kitchens, free Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly policies cater to a specific segment of travelers. While it provides essential services for extended stays, prospective guests should manage their expectations regarding overall room condition and be prepared to confirm all details upon check-in.

Apr 08, 2025 · Mini DuongAbsolutely horrible! Booked a reservation a week ago. Drove from 8 hours away with my family of 5. I have 3 children under the age of 9. One of them has Autism. Got to the hotel to check in and I was greeted with "the room you were getting, the people didn't leave so we don't have a room for you now". Every where is sold out, I've been driving around for 2 hours now looking for a hotel. Customer service hung up on us. Then we called them again and was booked at another location for them to call 10 minutes later and say "we don't have a room either".
Mar 29, 2025 · Autumn CreelWe stayed here on an impromptu visit. Pros: pet friendly and great location as it is close to the mall, university and restaurants. Prices are very reasonable. The room while somewhat clean has seen better days, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Cons: hit or miss on the key cards working to enter the building and our room. Trying to locate a staff member for assistance takes an act of congress, The entire floor reeked of marijuana so badly we could smell it even in our room. We found a live roach in the kitchen. Rooms have a stove with oven, refrigerator and small microwave but no coffee pot. When we finally found a staff member to ask for one they told us they were on order. At check in they require a $100 refundable deposit to ensure nothing is stolen (not sure what they think can be stolen). You definitely get what you pay for. I recommend if you stay there plan on a Walmart run or bring essential kitchen items with you as there are none provided. We left our dogs in the room for a couple of hours to get dinner. When we came back the front desk agent accused our dogs of making a mess in the room because the whole floor smelled bad. He was very rude and YELLED at us saying that it is against policy to leave pets in the room unattended which was not explained to us prior to checking in. He rudely threatened to charge us a $250 cleaning fee. Upon entering the room we realized that our room smelled fine and there was no pet mess in our room. We asked him to come in and inspect the room as to not be charged. He refused angrily to enter. A few minutes later I approached him again, he stated that he did realize that the smell wasn't coming from our room but did not apologize for his behavior. I have never experienced this type of a behavior from any establishment ever. Especially when the entire building smelled like marijuana for our entire stay. I am planning on complaining to the corporate office and will never stay here or recommend this place to anyone. That staff member should be fired
Dec 29, 2024 · Christie McCarthyThe only positive was the person at the front desk. She was pleasant and professional. The room was filthy. I'm not one to complain a lot but I wanted to throw away my slippers when I left. I've never been in a hotel where I didn't even want to use the shower. I understand it is difficult to get help these days but management would be better off having staff clean a block of rooms well and not use the rest than to give someone a room like we had.
Feb 22, 2025 · Lisa KileyOur hotel room deadbolt would not lock, so we could not lock our hotel room. More alarming is that we saw a roach in our room and checked out immediately and got a room at the Fairfield Inn at Marriott across the street. We were at the Extended Stay America a total of maybe 10 minutes and the hotel would not issue a refund. This hotel was rated a 2.5 star hotel, which it most certainly was not. Would not recommend.
