We recently stayed overnight for my wife’s birthday. We have stayed in New Hope and Lambertville many times, but in season the Ghost Light Inn is usually booked. Overall it’s a very nice hotel, in a nice location. If my review sounds less than excited it’s because when I pay that much for a room, my expectations are very high. When checking in I inquired about the hours for the complimentary breakfast. I was told that’s only Monday through Friday which was not clear on the website. Considering they don’t even serve breakfast in their restaurant, and don’t offer room service at all, this was a major negative. They must get a lot of complaints about this because there was a sign in the room indicating no continental breakfast on weekends. They should have posted that exact sign on their website! The room itself was nice, but small. On the plus side, The bed and linens were very comfortable. The Juliet balcony is actually a nice full length glass door that opens all the way, and the views are nice, but it’s not a true Juliet balcony. The bathroom was small, but also very nice. I called the front desk to inquire about the complimentary gourmet coffee that they advertised only to be told that they no longer offered it and their website and literature in the room, were not up to date. We did use their coffee maker only to find out at checkout that the bottled Nestles water was actually the “smart water” on the minibar menu at $6 per bottle! If this had been clear I would have still consumed them, but trying to pass a minor brand as “smart water” is unacceptable. I acknowledge that some of my comments could be interpreted as I was looking for freebies, but that’s not the case. I just expect properties to perform to the level they advertise. I also don’t appreciate being nickeled and dimed at luxury room rates. Instead of impressing me by going above and beyond, overall they performed below expectation. With so many wonderful options in the area, we won’t be returning. I hope that this review alerts others, who like me have high expectations, to stay elsewhere.

Ghost Light Inn Introduce

For discerning travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant and artistic town of New Hope, PA, the Ghost Light Inn stands out as a luxurious and highly sought-after option. Located centrally at 50 S Main St, New Hope, PA 18938, USA, this inn offers a boutique hotel experience with prime riverfront views, making it an attractive destination for romantic getaways, special occasions, and upscale leisure travel. The hotel can be reached directly at (267) 740-7131 or via mobile at +1 267-740-7131.

The environment of the Ghost Light Inn is consistently described as "very nice" and possessing a "thoughtful luxury feel." Its location "in the heart of New Hope center" is a significant asset, placing guests within easy walking distance of the town's renowned shops, art galleries, restaurants, and entertainment venues. A key environmental feature is its direct "lovely view of Delaware river." Guests can experience the serene beauty of the river directly from their rooms, with one delightful account mentioning "ducks were in the river to greet me" upon opening curtains in the morning. This prime riverfront setting enhances the overall ambiance, offering a tranquil backdrop to a sophisticated stay.

The rooms at the Ghost Light Inn are generally reported as "nice" and designed with comfort in mind, embodying a "thoughtful luxury feel." A major positive highlight is the "very comfortable" bed and linens, ensuring a restful night's sleep. While some guests have found the rooms to be "small," the design aims to maximize space and functionality within its boutique parameters. Many rooms feature a "Juliet balcony," which is described as a "nice full length glass door that opens all the way," providing excellent views, even if not a traditional walk-out balcony. The bathrooms, though also described as "small," are noted to be "very nice," suggesting high-quality fixtures and finishes. The overall aesthetic within the rooms aligns with an upscale, contemporary boutique hotel style.

The services at the Ghost Light Inn present a mixed picture, which is important for prospective guests to understand, particularly given the hotel's luxury positioning and price point. The staff is consistently praised for being "friendly and helpful," contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The on-site restaurant is highlighted as "excellent," which is a significant amenity for guests seeking quality dining without leaving the property. However, a major point of contention raised by guests is the complimentary breakfast policy. Guests have noted that complimentary breakfast is "only Monday through Friday," and this information is "not clear on the website." This lack of weekend breakfast service, coupled with no room service and the restaurant not serving breakfast, has been a "major negative" for some guests, especially those paying "luxury room rates" who expect a more comprehensive offering. The hotel reportedly places a sign in rooms about no continental breakfast on weekends, but critics suggest this information should be prominently displayed on the website to manage expectations upfront. Similarly, advertised "complimentary gourmet coffee" was found to be no longer offered, and bottled Nestlé water in the room was charged at a "smart water" price of $6 per bottle, leading to a feeling of being "nickeled and dimed" and a discrepancy between advertised and actual offerings.

Features of the Ghost Light Inn extend beyond the individual rooms. The presence of an "excellent" on-site restaurant provides a convenient and high-quality dining option for lunch and dinner. The central location is a feature in itself, offering unparalleled access to the vibrant New Hope downtown scene, including its famous shops, galleries, and entertainment venues. The scenic views of the Delaware River are a significant draw, enhancing the overall experience for guests who appreciate picturesque surroundings. For those seeking a short getaway or a weekend escape, the inn provides a tranquil and upscale base.

Given its premium positioning and frequent booking, particularly "in season," the Ghost Light Inn is likely to promote itself as a luxury escape, a romantic destination, or an ideal base for experiencing New Hope. Promotional information would emphasize its prime riverfront location, elegant rooms, and the excellent on-site dining. While specific packages are not detailed, guests might expect offerings such as romance packages, culinary experiences tied to the restaurant, or special rates for multi-night stays. Due to its boutique nature and high demand, booking well in advance is often recommended. Guests interested in the Ghost Light Inn should visit its official website or contact them directly to inquire about current rates, availability, and specific amenities, paying close attention to details like breakfast availability and any advertised inclusions to ensure alignment with expectations. The hotel's appeal lies in its sophisticated ambiance and prime location, making it a desirable option for those seeking a premium experience in New Hope.

In conclusion, the Ghost Light Inn stands out as a highly desirable option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in New Hope, PA, particularly for travelers seeking a luxurious and centrally located experience with stunning Delaware River views. Its beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff contribute to its appeal. However, prospective guests paying premium rates should manage their expectations regarding certain amenities, particularly the weekend breakfast policy and the accuracy of advertised inclusions. While it offers a "lovely getaway location" and an "excellent" restaurant, some guests have found that the actual experience, concerning specific services and transparency around charges, can fall "below expectation" for its price point. Despite these points, for many, the charm, location, and overall luxurious feel make it a compelling choice for a memorable New Hope visit.

What a lovely getaway location! Regardless if it is for a night or a weekend. Location is in a heart of New Hope center with lovely view of Delaware river. When opening curtains in the morning ducks were in the river to greet me. Restaurant is excellent, staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a thoughtful luxury feel

Perfect place to enjoy with friends n family. Cool place. Seating on chairs just next to river with a cup of hot coffee is fantastic! Very nice location. Will spend 3-4 hours even here. Loved it. Will visit again in short time for sure.

Had a one night Valentine's getaway and everything was even better than expected! Very clean, modern, huge room with high quality finishes. Exceptionally nice staff, they even surprised us with roses and chocolates in our room for Valentine's Day! So thoughtful and sweet. Dinner at Stella was also excellent and convenient (don't even need to go outside to get to the restaurant). Views of the river from the room were beautiful, and location is right in the heart of New Hope, great shopping and restaurants (and spa) in walking distance! I highly recommend this hotel!
