The best thing this hotel has going for it is the location. "Right there" access to Peddlers Village, down the road from New Hope, and convenient to plenty other Bucks County happenings. Unfortunately that's about all that's good about this hotel. I understand it is an old/historical inn, but that doesn't mean it has to smell, feel, or look old. The carpets in the hallways, in the rooms, and in the elevator are filthy. The rooms are dated, poorly appointed, and decorated as if from a second hand shop. Broken furniture, broken light fixtures, dirty unclean feeling throughout. The staff were plenty nice and there is definite charm to this place, but it falls short in alot of the areas a hotel should not. Worth spending the extra money if you are able to stay at one of the nicer hotels in New Hope.

Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the charming and historic New Hope, PA, and broader Bucks County area, the Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village presents a truly distinctive accommodation option. Located at 5886 Lower York Rd, New Hope, PA 18938, USA, this inn is not just a hotel; it's an integral part of Peddler's Village, a renowned shopping and dining destination. The hotel can be reached via phone at (215) 794-4004 or mobile at +1 215-794-4004.

The primary and arguably most compelling feature of the Golden Plough Inn is its unparalleled location. Guests benefit from "right there" access to Peddler's Village, an enchanting collection of over 60 specialty shops, restaurants, and gardens set in a colonial-style outdoor setting. This direct access means guests can easily explore the village's boutiques, galleries, and eateries, attending various seasonal festivals and events without needing to drive or search for parking. Furthermore, the inn is "down the road from New Hope" and "convenient to plenty other Bucks County happenings," making it a strategic base for exploring the wider region's attractions, including historic sites, artistic venues, and scenic landscapes.

The environment of the Golden Plough Inn offers a unique blend of historical charm and modern convenience, though with some reported variations. The main building of the Golden Plough Inn is described as "like stepping back in time," evoking a sense of history and tradition. This appeals to guests looking for an experience beyond a generic chain hotel. However, it's important to note that the inn also features "another building in rear which is more modern," suggesting a variety of room styles and perhaps a contrast in ambiance between different sections of the property. This diversity allows the inn to cater to guests who might prefer either a classic, old-world feel or a more contemporary setting.

The architectural style and decor contribute significantly to the inn's unique charm. It embodies the rustic, picturesque aesthetic of the village itself. This historical character, while appealing to some, also leads to certain aspects that warrant an objective review. While there is "definite charm to this place," some guest feedback points to challenges in maintaining a consistent standard of modern cleanliness and upkeep in certain areas. For example, some reviews mentioned "filthy" carpets in hallways, rooms, and elevators, and rooms described as "dated, poorly appointed, and decorated as if from a second hand shop," with "broken furniture" and "broken light fixtures," leading to a "dirty unclean feeling throughout." This suggests that while the historical ambiance is present, the execution of maintenance and modernization in some areas may fall short for guests accustomed to contemporary hotel standards. However, it's important to balance this with the subjective nature of "charm" – what one guest perceives as old or dated, another might find quaint or authentic.

In terms of services, the Golden Plough Inn strives to provide a pleasant stay. Reviews indicate that the "staff were plenty nice," suggesting a generally positive experience with customer interaction. While specific details on services like complimentary breakfast, fitness centers, or pools are not provided in the snippet, inns of this nature typically offer personalized service and amenities that align with a boutique, historical lodging experience. Guests might expect amenities such as a reception desk, perhaps concierge services to assist with local activities and dining, and potentially on-site dining options beyond what's found in the broader village. Given its integration with Peddler's Village, direct access to the village's numerous dining establishments is a significant convenience. The food within the village itself is described as "a bit mundane but convenient," with the suggestion to "try to go during an event" for "tasty treats," implying that the culinary experience might be elevated during special occasions.

The features of the Golden Plough Inn are deeply intertwined with Peddler's Village. Beyond the direct access to shopping and dining, the village hosts various events throughout the year, such as craft fairs, seasonal celebrations, and holiday festivities. Staying at the inn means guests are literally immersed in these events, enjoying them at their doorstep. This is a considerable advantage for those planning a visit around a specific village event. The village itself offers a diverse range of goods for sale, from clothing to gifts, as noted by a reviewer who found "some of the finest clothing I've touched."

Promotional information for the Golden Plough Inn would likely center around its unique location within Peddler's Village. This might include packages that bundle accommodation with village experiences, such as dining credits, shopping discounts, or tickets to special events held in the village. Given its nature as a unique destination, seasonal promotions tied to village festivals (e.g., Apple Festival, Scarecrow Festival, Grand Illumination Celebration) are highly probable. The inn might also offer romantic getaway packages, family packages, or discounts for extended stays. Guests are encouraged to check the official Peddler's Village website or the Golden Plough Inn's direct website for the most current offers and to make reservations. As an independent or smaller hotel, it may not participate in large loyalty programs like major chains, but it might have its own direct booking incentives or returning guest programs.

In conclusion, the Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village offers a distinct experience for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the New Hope, PA area. Its prime location within the charming and vibrant Peddler's Village is its undisputed strongest asset, providing immediate access to shopping, dining, and events. The inn itself offers a historical ambiance, with a mix of traditional and more modern accommodations. While some reviews indicate areas for improvement in terms of general upkeep and modernization of certain rooms, the overall charm and the convenience of being immersed in Peddler's Village make it a unique and potentially appealing choice for travelers prioritizing location and a distinctive, character-filled stay over strictly contemporary hotel standards. Visitors should consider their preference for historical charm versus modern amenities when choosing this property.

The Golden Plough Inn main building is like stepping back in time. They also have another building in rear which is more modern. The shopping village has almost anything you could imagine when you need a gift or clothing for yourself; some of the finest clothing I've touched. Food is a bit mundane but convenient..try to go during an event, you'll get some tasty treats.

Location great but other things let it down. Our daybed had yellow stains on the covers, the fridge didn’t work and the bathroom power outlets didn’t work. The most disappointing part was on arrival when ‘Meg’ on the front desk pretty much ignored us for five minutes when we arrived to check in. It only takes eye contact or a smile to acknowledge someone standing infront of you whilst you’re on the phone or looking at the computer, so it didn’t give us a very good impression on arrival. Disappointing.

The rooms are fine, but there's no elevators! We would not have booked if anywhere on the website, we saw the lack of elevators. I have MS so I was very lucky to stay during "good" week when I can actually manage stairs. So much for being on the first floor - my 112 room required walking up a floor and a half of narrow stairs. This place is horribly inaccessible. The shower is a hazard as the glass door is just completely open on one side with no door. Water got everywhere and was a major fall hazzard. Water pressure was good. The toilet paper was paper thin and they left us with only half a roll. The pillows are awful and offer no support at all. The towels are cheap and scratchy. There is no dresser!! The water pressure was good and the location is great. I saved the best for last - on our last night here, our neighbors started yelling and slamming doors starting at midnight. This continued at 7 a.m. - I should have called someone, but the walls are thin and I did not want to deal with them coming to harass me or something. I just wanted to sleep! I'm very glad that we did not bring any small children - this seemed like a nice family friendly hotel, but it is NOT. Children should not have to hear yelling and door slamming like this! Nobody should. Mind you, this is a Wednesday night into Thursday morning, not even a weekend or something! I'm genuinely afraid to leave my room. Stay away if you are disabled, have children, value your sleep, or want to feel safe at night.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Plough Inn two weeks ago for a wedding. The rooms were great, all of them are unique with comfortable beds and lots of space. The manager, Brian, was very friendly and accommodating!
