This is the second time that I've been to Gainesville on business, both times I've used this Hotel. The rooms are clean, up to date, and maintained. The staff is professional, and friendly. I've had no issues here whatsoever! The location to the town square, and Historic District is nice, and you have several food options within walking distance. My single complaint is that the bread was a little dry at breakfast, but everything else is 10/10, and worth every bit of my 5 stars!

Hampton Inn Gainesville Introduce

For those in Gainesville, Georgia, or planning a visit and searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the Hampton Inn Gainesville at 450 Jesse Jewell Pkwy, Gainesville, GA 30501, USA, stands out as a well-known accommodation option. As part of the Hilton family of brands, Hampton Inn properties are generally recognized for their consistent quality, complimentary breakfast, and a commitment to guest satisfaction, often summarized by their "100% Hampton Guarantee." This hotel, with direct phone contact at (770) 503-0300 and a mobile number at +1 770-503-0300, positions itself as a convenient and reliable choice for a variety of travelers.

When guests are looking for "Hotels Near Of Me," factors such as location, cleanliness, staff professionalism, and value for money are paramount. The Hampton Inn Gainesville attempts to excel in these areas, offering a standard of service and amenities that aligns with the expectations of the Hampton Inn brand. An objective assessment, drawing from both positive and critical guest reviews, provides a balanced perspective on what guests can expect during their stay.

Environment:

The Hampton Inn Gainesville's location on Jesse Jewell Parkway is a significant environmental factor. This address places it in a highly accessible area of Gainesville, often close to major thoroughfares, which is beneficial for travelers arriving by car. A notable advantage highlighted by a reviewer is its "nice" proximity to the "town square, and Historic District," indicating that guests can easily access the city's cultural and entertainment heart. This proximity also means "several food options within walking distance," adding convenience for dining without needing to drive. The hotel is situated in the central business district, making it convenient for business travelers, and it's across the street from the Gainesville Arts Council and just blocks away from the Georgia Mountains Convention Center. Nearby attractions also include Brenau University, Lakeshore Mall, and the hotel offers easy access to I-985, Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center, and Lanier Raceway. The hotel's designation also suggests proximity to Lake Lanier, providing opportunities for boating, fishing, and various water sports.

However, some reviews suggest that while the location is a strong point, the internal environment of the hotel might sometimes feel "dark, very dimly lit, kind of dingy and slightly dirty feeling." One guest specifically mentioned an "smell of old hotel" upon arrival, possibly amplified by a room temperature of "crispy 76 degrees." This feedback suggests that while the exterior and surrounding area might be favorable, aspects of the interior décor and upkeep could be perceived as dated or not consistently fresh. The hotel was built in 1996 and underwent its last major renovation in 2014, so some wear and tear or design choices might be more noticeable to guests accustomed to newer facilities. Despite this, other reviews describe the rooms as "clean, up to date, and maintained," suggesting inconsistency rather than a universal issue. The property consists of 73 rooms spread across three floors, featuring interior corridors.

Services:

A defining aspect of any hotel experience is the quality of its services, and the Hampton Inn Gainesville receives mixed, but generally positive, feedback in this regard. A consistent strong point is the staff, who are frequently described as "professional, and friendly." One returning business traveler lauded their experience, stating "I've had no issues here whatsoever!" and highlighting the staff's professionalism. This positive interaction with hotel personnel contributes significantly to a comfortable stay. The hotel is also noted for its 24-hour front desk and express check-in/check-out services, streamlining arrival and departure processes.

Hampton Inn properties typically offer complimentary hot breakfast, and this hotel is no exception. While one reviewer had a "single complaint" about the "bread was a little dry at breakfast," the overall sentiment towards breakfast is often positive for the brand, and for this hotel as well, with many guests appreciating the convenience and value of the "Make It Hampton Breakfast." Breakfast options include buffet, vegan, gluten-free, Kosher, and American selections, available daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. For guests on the go, "On the Run" breakfast bags are also offered on weekdays.

However, service in addressing guest issues has been a point of concern for some. A highly critical review detailed a prolonged "hot water issue" during a three-day stay, where maintenance and staff "didn’t seem to care" and the guest was told to "just wait." The resolution of a 30,000-point credit, unsolicited and insufficient to cover even one night's stay, further exacerbated the dissatisfaction. This indicates a potential gap in proactive problem resolution and communication for certain guest experiences. While this might not be representative of every stay, it highlights an area where service consistency could be improved. Additionally, laundry/valet services are available for a nominal fee, and the hotel offers dry cleaning/laundry services, a gift shop, and a snack bar/deli. Multilingual staff are also available to assist guests.

Features:

The Hampton Inn Gainesville offers a range of features designed to provide a comfortable stay. Key room features, as mentioned by guests, include "clean, up to date, and maintained" rooms. All 73 rooms boast comforts such as air conditioning (climate-controlled), as well as perks like free in-room WiFi and safes. Standard Hampton Inn room amenities typically include comfortable Hampton beds with premium bedding and down comforters, flat-screen TVs (32-inch or 42-inch LCD TVs with premium channels like HBO) with a good selection of channels, coffee makers, irons/ironing boards, and complimentary wired Internet access. Each guest room also features a hairdryer, microwave, and refrigerator. Blackout drapes/curtains and soundproofed rooms contribute to a good night's sleep. Free cribs/infant beds and connecting rooms are available upon request, subject to availability, for families or larger groups. Desks and laptop workspaces are also provided for business travelers.

The presence of a "dial style microwave" in one room, which reportedly "ruined an instant macaroni," suggests that some in-room appliances might be older models, potentially impacting the guest experience. However, overall, the availability of these amenities is a significant convenience.

Beyond the rooms, the hotel commonly offers public amenities that enhance the stay. These typically include:

  • Free Hot Breakfast: A staple of the Hampton Inn brand, offering a variety of hot and cold options including buffet, vegan, gluten-free, Kosher, and American selections, available daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. "On the Run" breakfast bags are also offered on weekdays for guests in a hurry.

  • Free Wi-Fi: Essential for both business and leisure travelers to stay connected, available in all rooms and public areas, including high-speed internet access.

  • Fitness Center: For guests who wish to maintain their workout routines while traveling. It is open 24 hours and is wheelchair accessible. Complimentary passes to a local health club may also be available.

  • Outdoor Pool: A seasonal amenity for relaxation and leisure, particularly appealing during warmer months. The seasonal pool is typically open from March to October, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It is also wheelchair accessible.

  • Business Center: A 24-hour business center, often equipped with computers and printers for guests' work-related needs, and also wheelchair accessible. The hotel has 4 meeting rooms totaling 1,875 square feet of conference space, with the largest room being 936 sq. ft. These spaces are suitable for various events, from small meetings to banquets for up to 60 people.

  • Free Parking: A significant convenience for guests arriving by car, including free self-parking and EV charging stations on-site. There is also free RV/bus/lorry parking. Wheelchair-accessible parking is available.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel allows pets (dogs and cats only) for a non-refundable fee of $50 per accommodation, per stay. A maximum of two pets are allowed per room. Service animals are exempt from fees.

  • Other Conveniences: Include a 24-hour front desk, a shared lounge/TV area, luggage storage, a convenience store on-site, free newspapers in the lobby, coffee/tea in common areas, a smoke-free property policy, and assistive listening devices.

The slow elevators, mentioned in one review, could be an inconvenience impacting guest flow, especially during peak times. The sentiment that the hotel feels "kind of dingy and slightly dirty" and that there is a "lack of upgrades through the years" suggests that while individual room cleanliness may be maintained, the overall aesthetic and feel of the common areas might benefit from more comprehensive modernization. The emergence of newer hotels, such as the Marriott on the square as mentioned by a reviewer, poses competitive pressure, highlighting the importance of continuous updates and maintenance for the Hampton Inn Gainesville to remain a top choice.

Promotional Information:

As a Hampton Inn, this hotel participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, a major promotional draw. Hilton Honors members can earn and redeem points for stays, access exclusive rates (like the Hilton Honors Discount rate), and enjoy benefits like digital check-in, Digital Key, and choose their room. This program is a significant advantage for frequent travelers.

Beyond the loyalty program, Hampton Inn Gainesville, like other hotels in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, likely offers various promotions to attract guests, which may include:

  • Seasonal Discounts: Such as "50% Off Sundays" when staying Friday and Saturday, or "Spring Sales & Coupons" with fresh deals. Prices can vary significantly based on dates, demand, and room type, but could start from around $144.5 per night for a 1-night stay for 2 adults.

  • Package Deals: Bundling accommodations with local attractions or dining credits, leveraging its prime location near the town square, Historic District, and other local points of interest like Lake Lanier or the Georgia Mountains Convention Center. Examples could include packages for events at Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center or Brenau University visits.

  • Bonus Points Offers: Promotions like "Earn Double Or Triple Points" for Hilton Honors members on qualifying stays, which can accelerate point accumulation.

  • Advance Purchase Rates: Discounts for booking well in advance, though these rates are often non-refundable.

  • AAA/AARP Discounts: Special rates for members of these organizations, allowing savings of up to 10% and earning Hilton Honors points.

  • Government/Military Rates: Reduced prices for eligible government and military personnel.

  • Flexible Booking Options: Highlighting easy cancellations and rescheduling for peace of mind, especially useful in uncertain travel times. It's advisable to check the specific cancellation policy for each booking.

  • Email Sign-Up Savings: Encouraging guests to sign up for emails to receive information about great rates and special offers directly to their inbox.

The hotel would leverage its strong points in promotional materials, such as the prime location with walking access to dining and the historic district, the generally "professional, and friendly" staff, and the complimentary breakfast, which is a significant value add. Despite some critical feedback regarding specific issues, the overall consistent positive sentiment from repeat guests, particularly business travelers, suggests that for many, the Hampton Inn Gainesville delivers a reliable and satisfactory experience, making it a viable option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the area. The "100% Hampton Guarantee" also serves as a strong promotional tool, promising guest satisfaction or a refund, instilling confidence in potential visitors.

The only good thing left about this hotel is their location to the square. I stayed three days and two nights, and did not have hot water during the duration of my stay. The hotel itself is dark, very dimly lit, kind of dingy and slightly dirty feeling. Elevators are extremely slow. It was a crispy 76 degrees in my room when I got there, which amplified the smell of old hotel, and lack of upgrades through the years. I had an old dial style microwave in my room, which successfully ruined an instant macaroni, how is beyond me. Hotel staff and maintenance didn’t seem to care about my water issue, I was told to “just wait”. I was never contacted other than through email, to say my account was credited 30,000 points which I didn’t ask for, but, doesn’t even cover one night stay. I used more points on this stay than what they returned, and I still had no hot water, and was left feeling unclean after a shower. Many years ago this used to be the place to stay in Gainesville. With the new Marriott on the square, no one should stay here. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location. Friendly front desk. I just wish their staff didn’t vape right in front of the main door. Standing outside for a moment about to leave when the team member barely made it out the door before taking a hit And blowing a giant cloud that I had to smell.

Great experience!!!! Ms. Wanda kicked it off with the wonderful stay. We stayed 2 nights and had no issues with anyone. Front desk were friendly welcoming and helpful. The Manager / GM was very hands on and welcoming easy going. Breakfast was such a delight and so was the cook. Location was very central to things. I will definitely be staying here again this summer.

Desk staff ( Kristi) rude. Requested not beside elevator so noise not so bad. Only minimal guests there & we were placed right beside dog room...with barking dog! Someone else gave our room # as a check out- wasn't verified. We were needing to stay several days due to hospital emergency. Room was basic, fairly clean but not a top rated stay for sure! Checked out and got airbnb cheaper, cleaner! Don't recommend- certainly the lowest Hampton I've stayed at.
