For local users in Gainesville, Georgia, seeking accommodation options under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville is a property that warrants a detailed, objective introduction. Located at 400 E E Butler Pkwy, Gainesville, GA 30501, USA, and reachable by phone at (770) 744-3913 or +1 770-744-3913, this hotel, part of the well-known Wyndham brand, presents a mixed picture based on recent guest experiences.
The Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville is strategically positioned on E E Butler Pkwy, which is a key thoroughfare in Gainesville. This location offers convenient access to various parts of the city and is often noted for its proximity to downtown Gainesville, local restaurants, boutique shopping, and attractions. The hotel is situated on Route 129, making it easily accessible for travelers. It's also near points of interest like the Smithgall Arts Center and the Northeast Georgia History Museum. While the address itself suggests a more urban or suburban setting, the hotel aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere within its grounds.
From an environmental perspective, the hotel features a lobby that is described as inviting, with an enchanting fireplace, suggesting an effort to create a cozy and warm first impression. There is also an outdoor pool area and a terrace, which can provide spaces for relaxation during warmer months. However, the external environment, being on a parkway, might entail some traffic noise, though some reviews suggest a generally quiet atmosphere for peaceful nights within the hotel. It’s also mentioned that the property is an "old building" that has undergone renovations, implying a blend of established structure with updated elements.
The services and amenities at the Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville are a significant point of discussion among guests, reflecting a considerable variance in experiences. On the positive side, many guests highlight the staff as being "very nice" and "friendly and helpful." This commitment to gracious service can significantly enhance a stay, with staff often praised for their courteousness and willingness to assist.
The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, with some guests noting it includes a buffet with items like an omelette station and waffles, suggesting a more substantial offering than a typical continental breakfast. There is also an on-site Mexican restaurant, the Courtyard Restaurant, which serves local meals including pecan trout and bourbon ribeye, and a Library Lounge offering drinks and snacks, providing convenient dining options for guests.
Room amenities typically include a king-size bed (in some rooms), updated bathrooms, flat-screen TVs with a good selection of channels, refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers. Other conveniences include ironing amenities, work spaces, and complimentary wired and wireless internet access. For guests with active lifestyles, the hotel provides a fitness center and a seasonal outdoor pool. Additional services include a 24-hour front desk, a business center with computer and internet access, three meeting rooms for events and conferences, laundry facilities, and vending machines. The hotel is also pet-friendly, with a fee.
However, a stark contrast exists in guest feedback regarding cleanliness and room quality. While one guest effusively praised the "spotless" white sheets and bedspread, indicating a very clean experience, another review describes the property as "awful," with rooms being "dirty" and "nothing had been cleaned in what had to have been weeks," and sheets described as "stained." This significant discrepancy suggests a potential inconsistency in housekeeping standards across different rooms or during different periods. Other negative points raised include issues with non-functioning amenities (e.g., toilet, sink) and a "funny smell" in rooms, along with general descriptions of the hotel being "very run down and cheaply run." This highlights a critical area for improvement in maintaining consistent quality.
The Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville possesses several features that aim to make it an attractive option for local users. Its affiliation with the Ramada by Wyndham brand typically ensures a certain level of standard amenities and services. The presence of an on-site restaurant and lounge provides a valuable convenience, allowing guests to dine without leaving the premises. The seasonal outdoor pool offers a recreational outlet, and the fitness center caters to guests wishing to maintain their exercise routines. The hotel also caters to business travelers with its business center and meeting facilities. Its pet-friendly policy expands its appeal to guests traveling with animals.
The central location in downtown Gainesville is a significant advantage, placing guests within easy reach of local attractions, dining, and businesses. The affordability, as highlighted by one appreciative guest ("kind on price"), can also be a strong selling point for budget-conscious travelers. The free breakfast and free parking add to the value proposition.
Conversely, the hotel's primary challenge, as gleaned from the reviews, is maintaining a consistent standard of cleanliness and room maintenance. The conflicting reports on room conditions suggest that while some rooms may be updated and well-maintained, others might fall short of expected standards. Issues like dirty surfaces, stained linens, and non-functional bathroom fixtures, if widespread or recurrent, can significantly detract from the guest experience. The high price mentioned in one negative review for a low-quality stay further amplifies these concerns, as it suggests a mismatch between cost and perceived value for some guests.
For local users considering the Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville, it's essential to approach booking with an informed perspective. The hotel is often listed with competitive rates, making it an option for those seeking a more budget-friendly stay in Gainesville. As a Wyndham property, it participates in the Wyndham Rewards program, allowing guests to earn points for free nights or other rewards. Potential promotions might include discounts for Wyndham Rewards members, AAA/AARP members, or "book early and save" rates. The hotel also sometimes offers bundled deals for rooms, flights, and other travel components.
Given the varied guest feedback, it would be prudent for prospective guests to carefully review the most recent customer reviews and perhaps consider contacting the hotel directly with specific questions about room conditions or maintenance if cleanliness is a primary concern. While some guests have had very positive experiences, praising the staff and cleanliness, others have had significantly negative stays, citing issues that led to immediate check-out. The hotel's commitment to accommodating families, with features like free cribs/infant beds and rooms with microwaves and refrigerators, is also a consideration. Overall, the Ramada by Wyndham Gainesville presents itself as an option in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Gainesville, offering standard amenities typical of its brand, but with guest experiences that can vary significantly regarding room quality and cleanliness.

Mar 31, 2025 · VERONICA McDanielThere is no way I can describe this place to fully convey how awful this place is. We checked in, and then checked right back out with a full refund. We tried 2 different rooms, both equally bad. Everything was dirty, nothing had been cleaned in what had to have been weeks, and the sheets were stained. I can't advise a stay here enough. And all of that for $500 for 2 night. Run, and run fast!
May 09, 2025 · Charlie FerroWe arrived to sign in and there wasn't an attendant, after both ringing the service bell and after calling the provided number, no one showed up for around 11 minutes. The room itself was mediocre at best, the lights flicked and the AC vented stank ass air into the room, there wasn't any toilet paper and the shower was stained yellow.
May 14, 2025 · Micah yeWhere do I start? I am in Gainesville for a medical procedure that requires prep and makes a toilet absolutely necessary. I check into the first room and find used false eyelashes on the very stained, obviously non vacuumed carpet. I go to the front desk. They change my room, after telling me this is why the hotel is so cheap. I move into second room. It's cleaner, no carpet. 2 hours after downing an extremely high powered laxative, the toilet stops flushing. They send someone to fix it, but in the meantime, I am sitting in a lobby chair, close to the public bathroom, in my gown, no bra, in a cold sweat, praying I can make it to the toilet and feeling bad for the plumber fixing the toilet in my room. I can't make this up. I would laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, but every ounce of muscular control in my body is being used not to soil myself.
Apr 23, 2025 · Elizabeth Stanleywouldn't stay here more than a night, wouldn't stay here unless i had to. extra star solely because the front desk guy was really nice. we got a prettier room compared to some of the other reviews, but the wood top on the desk was lifting and there was a small piece missing in the shower wall near the faucet. nothing was extraordinary. it was just...okay. if you can afford a better hotel, do that.
