Booked weeks ago, within an hour of our check-in we were told our room type had been over sold. Now we are using a rollaway bed for an adult instead of the double queen room we booked.

The hotel's staff receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for their hospitality, kindness, and professionalism. Reviews often mention specific individuals like Cheyenne at the front desk, who has been commended for being welcoming, hospitable, and polite, going above and beyond to assist guests, even during difficult personal circumstances. As a Marriott Bonvoy property, TownePlace Suites Gainesville offers guests the opportunity to earn and redeem loyalty points, providing added value for frequent travelers. While the hotel aims to deliver an excellent experience, it's important to provide an objective overview that includes all feedback. One customer review highlighted an issue with overbooking, where a pre-booked room type was unavailable upon check-in, requiring the use of a rollaway bed for an adult. This indicates that while the hotel generally manages reservations well, such incidents can occur, leading to inconvenience for guests. Another minor point mentioned by a guest is that the walls can be thin, leading to some noise transfer between rooms. However, the spaciousness of the rooms and comfortable beds are consistently praised, along with the full kitchens. The convenience of nearby restaurants like Longhorn Steakhouse and Red Lobster with a discount is a popular perk.
Despite the isolated issue of overbooking and thin walls, the overall sentiment from guests is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing intent to return. The combination of comprehensive amenities for extended stays, a genuinely pet-friendly environment, and a staff that consistently goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service makes TownePlace Suites Gainesville a highly recommended option for travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Gainesville area.

Feb 07, 2025 · Ben AnglinWe were visiting for a unplanned and unexpected death of one of our best friends. After driving 12+ hrs from Chicago with our pup, we could not wait to just relax and sleep. Cheyenne, at the front desk, not only helped us with the room reservation, she checked us in and made our stay so welcoming. Not only was our trip unexpected, but we were blown away by the hospitality received by the staff here. Even the breakfast lady was super sweet and friendly. They offer breakfast from 6-9am. Which we took advantage of. Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bagels, bread, sweets, cereals, yogurt, make your own waffles, etc. The place is dog friendly, however it does not smell like "dogs". It is well maintained. Free parking. Walls are thin though, so you can hear the room noises next door. Our room was spacious. Loved the fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. You get 10% off at Longhorn steakhouse and Red Lobster, both right in front of the hotel (less than a 5 min walk). The greens outside were plentiful for my pup to do his business and they had poop bags available. If we ever need to be in the Gainesville area, we will not hesitate to stay at TownPlace. Thank you again Cheyenne!
May 27, 2024 · S BCheck in was kinda a nightmare. I am an associate at a different property and I was not allowed to check in due to my age. The front desk agent made me walk over to another property just to have someone over 21 present at check in. He was kind of rude and snarky, and treated me like a child until another person showed up, just to be present. My room was kind of disgusting. And the garbage disposal didn’t work. The sink took absolutely forever to drain. Hairs on the pillows, food stains on the comforter. Worst, the pull out bed was DISGUSTING. There was no mattress protector, a the mattress itself was so gross. Stains all over it that looked like blood. There was no blanket for the pull out we had to go to the desk to get one from the front desk. I am an associate at another property, i know the standards Marriotts are held to. And for customer service I was disappointed. For room cleanliness I was grossed out.
Sep 03, 2024 · Abigail BroadstreetWe stayed here because we were bringing our dog for more training, and they accept pets with a $150 fee. When we showed up, there were a group of people on the outside area smoking weed. I let the front desk staff know, and she said the powers at be will not allow them to call the police. When I walked back outside, they were doing drug deals…. (The dealers were staying at the hotel, and evidently stay a lot because one of the employees knew them) If we hadn’t had our pet with us, we would have simply canceled our reservation and went somewhere else. We were a one and done at this property. We won’t be back. They obviously like drug trafficking better than law abiding citizens, and that’s sad because it really is a nice property “right now”.
Jul 20, 2024 · Tara HayesI called late one evening coming to town. They were helpful with my reservation. Gave a great room. The kids enjoyed waffles for breakfast. The place was clean. Will return again.
