Great bar service Excellent dinner service and food. Blacken salmon was the best I ever had. Breakfast buffet was only so so. Location was quiet, and only minutes from downtown. Nice location for jogging in the morning along the wharf. We'll lit lights for a stroll at night with boats in the background. Hotel rooms are clean, but plumbing is old and noisy. Will definitely go back again.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Philadelphia, particularly those offering a scenic waterfront experience, the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing emerges as a prominent option. Situated at 201 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19106, USA, this hotel provides a distinctive stay with its prime location on the Delaware River. For inquiries or reservations, you can contact them directly at (215) 521-6500 or via mobile at +1 215-521-6500. This Hilton property caters to a diverse range of guests, from leisure travelers looking to enjoy the riverfront and nearby attractions to business travelers seeking convenience and reliable service.
The most significant environmental advantage of the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing is its quiet, picturesque waterfront location. Nestled along the Delaware River, the hotel offers a serene escape from the immediate hustle and bustle of downtown Philadelphia, while remaining "only minutes from downtown." This unique positioning provides guests with breathtaking views of the river, especially from rooms facing the water, and offers a tranquil backdrop for their stay. The surrounding Penn's Landing area is renowned for its recreational opportunities, including waterfront parks, museums, and historical ships. Guests particularly appreciate the "nice location for jogging in the morning along the wharf," highlighting the accessibility to outdoor activities. The area is also described as having "well lit lights for a stroll at night with boats in the background," creating a pleasant and romantic atmosphere for evening walks.
While the location is a definite strong suit, the hotel's internal environment is described by some guests as "a little dated but nice." This suggests that while the property is well-maintained and clean, certain aspects of its decor or infrastructure may reflect an older style, perhaps not fully aligned with the most contemporary hotel designs. However, the cleanliness of the rooms is consistently noted as a positive, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. The overall ambiance is one of comfort and reliability, typical of a Hilton property, even if some elements suggest a need for modernization.
The service at Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing receives notable praise, particularly in its food and beverage departments. Guests consistently highlight "great bar service" and "excellent dinner service and food." The "Blackened salmon was the best I ever had," according to one review, indicating a high standard of culinary execution in the hotel's restaurant. The bar and bartenders are also described as "wonderful," suggesting a welcoming and competent team. This strong performance in dining and bar services is a significant asset, enhancing the overall guest experience, whether for a casual drink or a full meal. The hotel's primary restaurant is likely serving American cuisine, often with a focus on seafood given its waterfront location.
Beyond dining, general hotel services are typically efficient, though some areas for improvement have been mentioned. For instance, the process for breakfast vouchers, where guests who paid in advance still had to "go to the front desk and wait in line to get 'breakfast vouchers'," was noted as an inconvenience. This suggests a potential streamlining opportunity for administrative processes to enhance guest convenience. Similarly, a lack of basic amenities like "bar soap for the bathroom sink" and the failure to deliver it promptly after a request points to occasional lapses in housekeeping or guest service response. However, the prompt delivery of "more coffee" indicates that staff are generally responsive to requests. Hilton properties typically offer a range of services including a 24-hour front desk, concierge services, room service (often with limited hours), and laundry/dry cleaning services.
The hotel also features standard amenities such as an on-site fitness center, and likely an indoor pool, given its profile as a full-service Hilton. Meeting and event spaces would also be available, catering to both corporate and social gatherings.
The Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing boasts several key features that enhance its appeal:
However, some infrastructure challenges are also noted. The "plumbing is old and noisy," which can detract from the overall comfort of the room. More significantly, the "elevators were awful and took forever," leading to "aggravating" waits. These issues suggest that while the rooms are clean and beds comfortable, some essential systems within the hotel may be showing their age and require significant upgrades to improve the guest experience.
For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" on a booking platform, the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing would likely promote its prime waterfront location, offering stunning views and direct access to recreational paths and attractions like the Independence Seaport Museum. Its affiliation with the Hilton brand implies a certain standard of quality and service, often including benefits for Hilton Honors members. The exceptional dining and bar service would also be a key promotional point, highlighting the convenience and quality of on-site food and beverage options.
The hotel would appeal to those who value a comfortable bed, clean rooms, and excellent dining, particularly if they enjoy waterfront settings and easy access to outdoor activities like jogging or evening strolls. It’s also suitable for guests who prefer a quieter environment while still being minutes from the city's main attractions.
However, potential guests should also be aware of the recurring feedback regarding the hotel's age. While generally "nice," the "a little dated" aspect extends to issues with "old and noisy" plumbing and particularly problematic elevators, which can significantly impact convenience and overall satisfaction. While some guests have had minor service issues, like the soap delivery, these are often overshadowed by the positives like the food and the location.
Despite the minor inconveniences, the sentiment "Will definitely go back again" from one guest, combined with the praise for food, bar, and location, indicates that for many, the positives outweigh the negatives. It suggests that the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing remains a solid choice for those prioritizing location, views, and good food, provided they can overlook some of the older infrastructure challenges. Guests are encouraged to consider these factors when making a booking decision, especially if elevator efficiency or modern plumbing are high priorities.

May 18, 2025 · Stanley LewHotel was nice, a little dated but nice and I’m the room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Restaurant was amazing and the bar and bartenders were wonderful. Paid for breakfast in advance but still had to go to the front desk and wait in line to get “breakfast vouchers”. Would have been nice if they could just skip that part and look up our info at the restaurant. We didn’t have any bar soap for the bathroom sink and never got any even after asking for it to be brought up to our room. They did bring us more coffee, though. The room view was beautiful. The elevators were awful and took forever. I’m not sure what was going on, but we waited for elevators forever every time we had to go anywhere which was aggravating.
May 11, 2025 · Kelley EdwardsI have been using Hilton for over three years, but my stay here at this hotel was one of the worst I have ever had. First, the A/C was not working correctly in my room, and I reported it twice, but it was never fixed. Secondly, my door did not have the disturbing tag that said do not disturb me, and I reported it to the front desk. They told me they didn't have any more, but they told me not to worry, that no one would bother me during my stay. Every day, a housekeeper came in to clean my room. When I checked out, I complained, and the girl at the front desk told me she was sorry for the problems during my stay and would tell the manager that I would be compensated with points for my problems. Now the manager says she never knew about these problems, so they cannot give me my points, and I don't care about them. I am saying they are liars, and for being a big hotel in a good area, they honestly treated me the worst. I sincerely do not recommend this hotel.
May 16, 2025 · Oscar PinedaNot worth the price paid. Rooms are run down. Only one elevator working out of 4. Maid service never came on a 3 day stay. We had to fetch our own towels from the desk so we ended up with three days worth piled in room. Was finally told we had to specially request service. Not clear if the sheets had been changed when we first got there (stain and the middle sheet was bunched at bottom like the comforter had just been thrown over). Toilet leaked at night and the handle looked ready to fall off. Faucet dropped. Rust stain in bath like no-one cared or bother to try to clean it. Shower floor cracked and old. Restaurant was pricy, but at least the service was friendly.
May 18, 2025 · Patrick MillerI want to give a big thank you to the guy working by himself Monday night. He handled the chaos of our 110 person check in with kindness and a smile. The morning banquet staff was top-notch and the views were amazing from every room. However, while the rooms were clean and spacious, several of them had plumbing issues.
