The services at the Philadelphia Marriott Old City are a strong point, frequently highlighted by guests. The front desk staff consistently receives high praise for their exceptional service, described as "really great" and attentive to guest needs. This level of personalized care contributes significantly to a positive guest experience. A notable and positively surprising service mentioned by a recent guest is the provision of daily housekeeping, which is a valued amenity in many hotels. The wait staff at the on-site restaurant are also commended for their friendliness, indicating a general culture of hospitality throughout the property. For Marriott Bonvoy members, especially those at higher tiers, the hotel offers additional benefits, such as complimentary breakfast, which enhances the value proposition for loyal guests. While the overall guest experience is largely positive, with many praising the hotel's location, spacious rooms, and excellent staff, some guests noted the high cost of valet parking and the fact that breakfast is not universally included. One guest, having a short overnight stay for a conference, did not give a full 5-star rating due to not being able to fully test all services or explore the neighborhood extensively, but would "definitely book again." This indicates a high level of satisfaction even from a limited interaction. The hotel's ability to host conferences and presentations is also a strong feature, with its well-appointed lobby and breakout rooms. Apr 11, 2025 · Tony (BigToe)Usually stay at another brand of hotels. I really did enjoy my quick overnight for conference and presentation. Lobby area great with several smaller breakout rooms. Breakfast not included unless you are higher level member of Marriot Bonvoy rewards. Was in a nice area of city, some construction going on waterfront. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Main reason didn't give 5 stars because it was a short stay and was not able to test service, walk around neighborhood or stay in room longer. Would definitely book again when traveling back to Philadelphia.
Apr 24, 2025 · John OrlandoI only stayed here one night since my flight got cancelled. So, for one night of stay, the rooms were clean, valet parking is a little expensive, bathrooms were clean and the front desk is very courteous. After staying 1 week in Westin Mount Laurel, for the most ever horrible stay being a Marriott member, I was very apprehensive in booking this hotel for the one night of my flight cancel. Pleasantly surprised that this a clean and upgraded hotel than the Westin mount laurel. Definitely coming here again.
Apr 27, 2025 · Tejaswini GoratiI’ve stayed in thousands of hotels in my lifetime, and never have I encountered anything this disgusting. I was in room 3130 for two full days before noticing something was wrong—meaning I was probably breathing in sewage spores the entire time without knowing it. On the second night, I stepped to the left side of the bed and my feet were instantly drenched. I turned on the light to find the carpet on that side—right against the bathroom wall—was completely soaked, brown, and curling up from the wall. It looked (and smelled) like raw sewage. I felt sick to my stomach. I jumped in the shower to scrub the filth off my feet, only to find that the room’s phone didn’t even work. I had to walk all the way down to the front desk, where the receptionist first told me there were no rooms available. Then, when she sensed how upset I was, a room suddenly “became” available. She handed me a new key and told me to bring the old room's key back downstairs—like I was inconveniencing *them*. Not a good experience at all.
May 12, 2025 · Liam HindleyI reserved 2 room with 2 queens beds and got 1 room with a king bed. Then when I asked for the second room, they only had another room with 1 bed. I reserved the rooms with 2 queen beds because I had 3 people in one room and 2 in another. We made it work but it was a bit annoying not getting the rooms that I reserved. The AC so loud it was hard to sleep: ear plugs were provided but inconvenient.
