Dec 27, 2024 · Miguel LozadaI am not high maintenance when it comes to hotels. Decent bed, ok pillows controllable temperature and I am good. This place is a good location to get to app ski mountain, but that is where it ends. I booked a 1 room suite. Showed up, checked in, went to my room and it wasn't 1 room suite. Go down to the lady at the desk and ask about it. She said, sorry the room had an issue so we had to put you smaller room. Ok, no problem these things happen. I ask about price, should be less. Nope, I was being charged 50$ more a night! I say, that is not right. She huffed and puffed and lowered it by 30$. I said, that is not right, and she gave me angry look and said she would fix it. I checked on checkout and they reduced to less than what we were set to pay. Asked for extra bedding and a pillow, never got it. I don't recommend staying here. My wife says no more Holiday Inns after this experience!
Jan 13, 2025 · Robert LukesStayed three nights over Christmas. Have used this hotel before. The good: the hotel is finishing a much needed renovation, bringing it up to the modern holiday inn express look and convenience with larger fridge and microwave in the rooms. Especially the bathrooms have benefited from this refresh. The reception staff is kind and helpful. The meh: the dim, fluorescent lighting in the rooms feels institutional. The breakfast is underwhelming in freshness (eggs,biscuits/gravy, sausage, fruit) and choice (broken pancake maker and no fresh oatmeal). Waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. The no: the renovation did not include the HVAC. While other hotels have new units with separate thermostats, this hotel still uses the ones with constant air and dial setting. The result is that in the winter you are freezing as the unit continues to blow unheated air after reaching the (hard to estimate) desired temperature setting is reached. We got extra blankets.
Dec 26, 2024 · Joris FloriaanI checked in around 5pm. When I went to check the first room (204) the toilet had urine on the seat, on the front of the bowl and floor around it. The table also had dried up food on it. I went down to the lobby to notify the front desk staff. They apologized and offered another room on the first floor. I went to check the second room (105) and as soon as I walked in the smell of urine was prominent. The toilet also had urine on it and hair in the shower. I went back to the front desk and said something again. They let me know they could refund my money back to me and I could go else where because they could not offer me another room. I drove 4 hours to Boone and told them that was t an option. Cleanliness is ultimately what I expected when staying at a hotel. She then told me we could check a room together. (108) upon going into this room the toilet was clean, along with the bed and tables. In the mist of everything I forgot to check the shower in this room. In the morning is when I discovered the soap scum, mold and mildew in the shower and on the shower head. The breakfast was good and was probably the best part of the overall experience.
