I’m not sure how this hotel has such high stars. It’s possibly one of the dirtiest IHG locations I’ve ever been in. The front desk was in a rush to clock off and had no interest in helping us whatsoever. The first room we went too, on the fourth floor had obvious water damage on the main wall, and smelled so moldy we switched to a room on the first floor. Which had other downsides— including cigarette smoke wafting in from people lighting up before reaching the side exit, and a bathroom with stains all over the walls. The only positive was that the beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were clean. This entire hotel needs a serious deep clean (mildew central) and a full restoration! I’m also a “gold member” and am now wary of going to another IHG location again!
The Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro, an IHG hotel, is located at 1 Pureland Dr, Swedesboro, NJ 08085, USA. As a major brand within the hospitality industry, this hotel is a significant presence for local users and travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform. The "Hotels Near Of Me" category is designed to provide quick and relevant lodging options based on a user's geographical proximity, making it an essential tool for both planned trips and spontaneous needs. The Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro is particularly relevant for those visiting the Pureland Industrial Complex, located directly adjacent, or for individuals traveling through South Jersey and needing convenient access to major roadways like I-295.
The Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro is uniquely positioned at 1 Pureland Drive, placing it directly within the sprawling Pureland Industrial Complex. This makes it an exceptionally convenient choice for business travelers with engagements within the complex. While an industrial park setting may not offer picturesque views, the hotel's location is highly functional for its target demographic. Swedesboro itself is a developing area in South Jersey, offering a mix of commercial zones and agricultural landscapes. Guests can expect an environment that prioritizes accessibility to transport routes, being conveniently located off I-295. While the immediate vicinity might be industrial, the hotel is within a reasonable driving distance to local attractions, dining options, and other amenities in Swedesboro and nearby towns. The hotel is situated in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Gloucester County Dream Park and Subaru Park, indicating some leisure possibilities nearby. However, it's important to note that the environment around the hotel is characterized by its practical proximity to the industrial park rather than being a quaint or vibrant town center.
The Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro offers a comprehensive array of services typical of the Holiday Inn brand, aiming to cater to a broad range of guest needs. Standard services include a 24-hour front desk, ensuring constant availability for guest assistance, check-ins, and check-outs. The hotel provides both complimentary wired and wireless internet access, a crucial amenity for both business and leisure travelers. There is an on-site restaurant and a bar/lounge, offering dining options without needing to leave the property. Room service is also available during limited hours. For business guests, the hotel boasts 4844 square feet (450 square meters) of conference space and 6 meeting rooms, along with a 24-hour business center. Other conveniences include free self-parking (including RV/bus/lorry parking), laundry facilities (dry cleaning/laundry service), and express check-in/check-out. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing pets for an extra charge, and service animals are welcome without fees. It's worth noting that recent customer reviews indicate varying experiences with service quality, with some guests praising "friendly and nice" staff, while others reported issues with front desk interest and promptness. While the infrastructure for a wide range of services is in place, consistent execution appears to be an area where guest experiences can differ.
The Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro features 161 air-conditioned rooms, each equipped with refrigerators and microwaves, offering convenient in-room amenities for guests. Rooms also include 32-inch flat-screen televisions with satellite programming, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. Desks and complimentary newspapers are provided. The hotel generally aims for comfort, with "comfortable beds" and "clean bedding and towels" being positive features highlighted by guests. Recreational features include a seasonal outdoor pool with sun loungers and a 24-hour fitness center. There's also a billiards/pool table and a playground on-site, catering to both adults and families. Environmentally conscious features are also noted, such as a high percentage of LED lighting and efforts to reduce single-use plastics. However, recent customer reviews also highlight significant concerns regarding the hotel's cleanliness and maintenance. Issues such as "obvious water damage," "moldy" smells, "stains all over the walls" in bathrooms, and malfunctioning lights ("flashing like a strobe light") indicate a need for "serious deep clean" and "full restoration." While the hotel offers essential features, their current condition, as reported by recent guests, suggests a need for considerable attention to upkeep and renovation to meet expected brand standards.
For local users on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, the Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro promotes its prime location adjacent to the Pureland Industrial Complex, making it highly attractive for business travelers. Its convenient access off I-295 and proximity to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Rowan, Widener, and Wilmington universities, as well as the Philadelphia Sports Complex, are strong promotional points. The hotel emphasizes its range of amenities, including the on-site restaurant and bar, outdoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, and complimentary Wi-Fi, all of which add value to a stay. The hotel also highlights its meeting and event spaces, catering to corporate and social gatherings. IHG Rewards members are encouraged to book directly to earn points and potentially receive exclusive rates. While the hotel attempts to convey a message of comprehensive service and comfortable stays, prospective guests consulting the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform should also consider recent customer feedback. Promotional material might emphasize the brand's general reliability and its family-friendly policies where children stay free, but the widespread reports of maintenance and cleanliness issues should be weighed against these advertised benefits to set realistic expectations for the stay.

May 11, 2025 · Molli Wentworth KingThe staff are really friendly and nice but there are some serious issues with multiple items in the rooms. The light in the bathroom started to flash like a strobe light. Not a problem for me but could induce an epileptic fit. It was fixed. The ceiling above my shower leaked whenever the occupant above me used the shower, was fixed but resumed after a couple of days.
Apr 29, 2025 · Thomas SpiresQuite nice for a standard Holiday Inn. Room felt a little dated but clean and well appointed. Lobby area, restaurant and grounds very well kept, clean and welcoming. Very handy to Rt 295.
Apr 10, 2025 · Michael HolmesSo dirty! The level of nasty is exstream! First thing that slaps you in the face is the vomit like smell. Humid inside the rooms when it's winter outside . Wall paper peeling off the wet and stained walls .the carpet was so disgusting with complementary toenail clippings and huge stains and gigantic burn holes . Dust so thick on the little loveseat I could not sit on it .Mold and mildwe in every cranny of the bathroom .funky shower curtain and a dark greasy hand print inthe shower Water sprayed everywhere except in the shower used a towel to wipe it up and OMFG the filthy blackness that it mopped up was just crazy. Every inch of the doors and light switches were covered in grimes. The gap around the door was large all the way around so it was like sleeping with the lights on .Doors slamming all night and very early . So bad I left after one night stay .
Jan 16, 2025 · Jamzthekat01I travel regularly for the past 20 years. I’ve never left a hotel because of the smell until last night. I would have asked for another room but the entire 4 th floor smells just like the room.
