Great location, decent price, subpar rooms, & horrendous management. I stay at hotels frequently for business, but funny enough I started out working, in hotels. Therefore, my review will probably be a bit different than the usual. Everything from the room to amenities was very typical of Hyatt, what stood out to me was staff. Lower Level staff like the house keeping, front desk, etc. were pleasant as could be--Super helpful, and courteous... Higher Level Management however, a nightmare. As the saying goes a place is only as good as they treat their employee's & this place- sucks! Higher level management stands around chatting, between frequenting levels of the hotel to bark orders at house keeping staff ,who are busy at work. Over heard many requests for things like hand towels, "waffles", & even a vacuum. Instead of seeing the high and mighty bringing these items or providing direction to obtain, I heard a lot of empty promises or just utter lack of guidance. Housekeepers are up-and- down stairs and elevators seemingly on a wild goose chase to stock and garner cleaning supplies. I had the occasion to speak directly with one housekeeper ,and she was so gracious and kind I felt bad when I saw her have to run to the elevator and come back sweating to bring me extra towels... shouldn't these be more accessible to your staff? She apologized profusely for the delay, probably because she used to being barked at by management for their lack of competency- but I genuinely felt terrible. Wouldn't stay again, its hard to have a good night of rest when you know the people who make your bed, clean your shower, and provide you clean towels are being halfway abused in order to maintain the room.

Jul 29, 2025 · Mary TestNever coming back to this hotel. This hotel is very expensive for what you get (or don’t get rather). I gave it 3 stars because of the location, the size of the suite, and the nice front desk people otherwise the service was 1 star. The hotel itself is subpar-old looking, dark and dingy. They service the room every 4 days which is absolutely disgusting. We stayed in a suite with our family of 4 for 6 nights so you can only imagine how fast the trash bins filled up and quickly we got through the towels. When they finally did “service” the room they only made the beds (very sloppily) and didn’t place new clean sheets which you expect after 4 days. They gave towels and that’s it! No cleaning/vacuuming etc. They also took the sheets off the sofa bed and left it unmade and then didn’t even close it. I do not suggest staying here not worth it even for the nice location.
Jun 21, 2025 · S KhanGreat hotel! Staff was great to me. Great location (a lot of restaurants/amenities in this west loop area. Safe for the most part) Complimentary Breakfast was decent. The hotel food on site from the bar is not the best especially for the price. Probably 2/5. Only complaint really is just parking. Garage parking is ridiculously expensive. Around $63/night give or take. Street parking is $5/hr (MAX 2 Hours, across the street) until 12am, but you got to find it. Overall, the room and stay was great but things could always be better.
May 08, 2025 · CoasterVaultExpertUPDATED at the bottom. Beware of booking with this hotel, I was double-charged! I booked and fully paid for my room months ago because I'm getting married nearby in Chicago on May 18. Today, just two days before check-in, the hotel charged me again for the same reservation. When I called the front desk to resolve the issue, the staff member was condescending and rude. He insisted the total bill was correct at $1,500, even though our agreed rate was $350 per night for two nights ($750 total including taxes). When I questioned the unexplained extra $750 charge, he dismissively told me I simply didn't understand taxes. I'm extremely frustrated and stressed, especially since this incident adds unnecessary pressure right before my wedding. UPDATED: The manager resolved the issue and comped one of the room nights for us which was very kind. She was very understanding in why we were upset and I do sincerely appreciate her every effort to make our stay enjoyable.
May 19, 2025 · Shayna DeBoisThe service is what stands out at the Hyatt House. Everyone from the kitchen staff, to the cleaning staff, to the staff at the bar, to the reception staff is friendly, courteous and most of all helpful. Portea in a particular was amazing. She was upbeat, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made my stay easy and effortless. Would recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Chicago.
