Extremely disappointing stay – only redeeming quality was the staff Our experience at this hotel was unfortunately terrible. We were shown four different rooms, and each one had a strong, unpleasant odor—ranging from mold and stale fried food to just an overall musty and dirty smell. The furniture in every room we saw, as well as in the lobby, was stained and unclean. The bedding and even the pull-out beds were in poor condition, and the bathroom had hair left in the shower, which was unacceptable. The only bright spot in our stay was Rania, the Egyptian receptionist. She was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. She personally walked us to multiple rooms in an effort to find one that was even slightly acceptable. Her level of service was far above what we expected given the condition of the hotel. Unfortunately, the bed in our room smelled like body odor, specifically like armpits. Additionally, the environment of the hotel felt very unsettling. There were individuals who appeared to be homeless lingering in and around the hotel for hours, some with luggage but no clear purpose, just standing and staring. It made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. We were also surprised to find that dogs were allowed in all rooms, with no designated pet-friendly section. At one point, an unleashed dog approached my family, and the receptionist had to physically intervene because there was no owner in sight. Overall, the atmosphere and clientele did not feel safe or welcoming. It was a deeply disappointing experience, and we would not stay here again.

It is imperative to incorporate customer reviews to provide a well-rounded and objective introduction, as they offer direct insights into the real-world experiences of previous guests. One highly detailed review for Hyatt House Philadelphia/Plymouth Meeting expressed extreme disappointment, stating that the only redeeming quality was the staff. This guest reported being shown four different rooms, each afflicted with a strong, unpleasant odor, ranging from mold and stale fried food to a general musty and dirty smell. The furniture in all viewed rooms and the lobby was described as stained and unclean, with bedding and pull-out beds in poor condition. The bathroom was noted to have hair in the shower, which was deemed unacceptable. The reviewer specifically praised Rania, the Egyptian receptionist, for her exceptional kindness, patience, and professionalism, noting that she personally walked them to multiple rooms in an effort to find an acceptable one. This highlights a significant disparity between staff service and the physical condition of the property.
Further negative points from this review included a strong body odor smell in the eventual room's bed. The guest also reported an unsettling environment, observing individuals who appeared to be homeless lingering in and around the hotel for hours, some with luggage but no clear purpose, creating a feeling of discomfort and unsafety. Another major concern raised was the hotel's pet policy, specifically that dogs were allowed in all rooms without a designated pet-free section. An incident where an unleashed dog approached the reviewer’s family, requiring the receptionist to physically intervene, underscored this concern. The overall atmosphere and clientele were described as neither safe nor welcoming, leading to a deeply disappointing experience and a strong recommendation against future stays. These comments raise serious questions regarding cleanliness, safety, and hotel policy enforcement.
Conversely, another customer review offered a very positive perspective, stating they had "a great stay." This guest noted that upon check-in, as their preferred room type was not ready, they received an upgrade to a larger bed size and a room featuring a big meeting room table with chairs, which enhanced comfort and convenience. They found the room to be "pretty big" and reported that "All worked well and we enjoyed the stay, Everyone was very nice." This contrasting feedback suggests that experiences can vary significantly. While the positive review points to good customer service and comfortable accommodations when available, it does not address the issues raised in the negative review regarding cleanliness, odors, or the perceived safety of the environment.
These reviews collectively offer a critical duality that prospective guests should consider when utilizing "Hotels Near Me" to select an accommodation. While the positive review highlights instances of good service and comfortable upgrades, the extensive negative feedback points to significant and recurring issues with room quality, cleanliness, odor, and safety perceptions. Travelers are strongly encouraged to contact the hotel directly to inquire about their current cleaning protocols, pest control measures, pet policies, and any security measures in place. This proactive approach, combined with a thorough review of various guest feedback platforms, will enable a more informed decision regarding a stay at Hyatt House Philadelphia/Plymouth Meeting.

May 05, 2025 · Lana SaraWe had a great stay. Since we did not have the room type ready when we checked in, we got a bump up to a bigger bed size and had a big meeting room table with chairs that made it super comfortable and convenient. Besides the room was pretty big. All worked well and we enjoyed the stay, Everyone was very nice.
Feb 16, 2025 · Fernando DouerI stayed there a couple of nights for business. The staff is fantastic, especially Ranya and Robert. They made me feel at home, which is important when away on business. I was a Marriott guy, but if all Hyatt staff is like them, I will be switching over. The hotel was clean and well maintained. It seems to be very well managed. I will be back.
Mar 24, 2025 · Craig SicklesMe and my family recently stayed here and our experience was nothing short of terrible to say the least. It was a struggle to find any good quality factors about this hotel other than the amazing staff at the front desk( the nice lady Rania) who were very helpful with our stay. When first arriving you will enter the very underwhelming lobby with a smell of mold and overall must. You will then see the seating arrangement for guests, not a single one without stains, rips, and an unpleasant smell. During your stay you will undoubtedly run into the other guests who appeared to be just floating aimlessly throughout the lobby, and appearing to be homeless and incredibly unwelcoming. Once you’ve made it to your room you are greeted with an odor which is nothing short of horrid, disgusting furniture and beds , and smelly stained carpets which were oddly sticky. If you have seen the pictures online and belive Its nice you will be unhappy to hear that the pictures were NOTHING like the real thing, failing miserably to capture the true vibe and disgust of the hotel. You may have thought that the cleaning of the rooms before your stay could be good, well you are sadly mistaken. When losing something in the room I was unfortunate enough to look under the bed, you wouldn’t belive the shock that befell on me when finding an old Condom rapper(empty). Apart from the staff the best part of the stay was the joy of leaving. Overall I was very unhappy and uncomfortable, will NOT be staying here again
May 06, 2025 · chrisI had a one-night stay at this hotel in mid-February. While the area was ideal and close to the highway/major shopping areas, it was a disappointing experience due to the lack of customer service. I checked in at 5pm and waited on a long line as the hotel was understaffed. Additionally, I inquired about a crib for my room as I was traveling with a toddler. To my surprise, the front desk attendant noted there were no cribs available. She did not attempt to call housekeeping or personally check. When I asked someone else, they confirmed cribs were available, yet I was not given one for the night. When I tried to speak with her again, I had to wait on a long line and wait for sometime as she had stepped away. The next day, I returned and spoke with someone else who was able to send a crib up to my room right away. Other than the service, the experience was fine. Regarding the room-- The beds were decent, though too firm, but the rooms are great for traveling with small kids. The breakfast was fine, had the essentials.
