For the EV owners - We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was new, and the staff helpful and friendly. Easily the nicest Residence Inn I have stayed at. That said, if you plan on charging an EV and taking advantage of their rather large charging amenity, as we did, I'd recommend that you plan otherwise. The charging is needlessly overpriced, in fact the highest price I have ever seen in my decade of charging. At $2/kWh it is the rough equivalent of ~$13/gallon of gas. The next closest charger is priced at $0.40/kWh which is about average. Had we known the premium, we wouldn't have driven our EV and the complexity that it introduced frustrated an otherwise wonderful stay.

Environment and Location:

The Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park is strategically positioned as part of the larger Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park development, an ambitious mixed-use project that aims to blend residential, commercial, and hospitality elements. Its address on Old Vineyard Place suggests a setting that balances accessibility with a sense of place, likely featuring landscaped grounds and modern infrastructure. The hotel's "new" status, as highlighted by a reviewer, is a significant advantage, implying contemporary design, fresh furnishings, and up-to-date facilities. This contributes to a clean, aesthetically pleasing, and inviting atmosphere, which is often a strong preference for travelers searching for quality "Hotels Near Of Me." The surrounding area of Hyde Park itself is rich in history and natural beauty, making the external environment conducive to leisurely exploration.

Its location is particularly advantageous for visitors to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), which is directly across the street, as confirmed by guest reviews. One reviewer explicitly mentioned dining at the CIA and that, "If the weather had been good would probably have just walked to the restaurant." This direct proximity is a significant draw for prospective students, parents, culinary enthusiasts attending events, or those simply wishing to dine at the CIA's acclaimed public restaurants. Beyond the CIA, the hotel is conveniently situated for accessing other iconic Hyde Park treasures, including the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, and the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, both just a short drive away. The overall environment aims to be a comfortable and contemporary base from which to explore the rich history, natural beauty, and culinary delights of the Hudson Valley.

Services and Amenities:

As a Residence Inn by Marriott, the Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park is meticulously designed to cater to both short-term and extended-stay guests, offering a comprehensive suite of services and amenities that enhance comfort and convenience. These typically include:

  • Suite-Style Accommodation: A defining characteristic of Residence Inn properties, the hotel's rooms are consistently praised for being "huge" and "basically residence inn style with kitchenette and sitting area." This means guests can expect exceptionally spacious suites, often with distinct living and sleeping areas, providing significantly more comfort and flexibility than a standard hotel room. The inclusion of a full kitchenette, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, dishes, and utensils, is a major advantage. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which is particularly beneficial for longer stays, families with specific dietary needs, or those looking to save on dining out. The rooms are also noted as being "immaculate," suggesting very high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

  • Complimentary Breakfast: Residence Inn properties are known for offering a complimentary hot breakfast buffet. A reviewer specifically mentioned that "Breakfast was a good notch above the usual free hotel breakfast fare," indicating a higher quality or broader selection of items, which can be a significant perk for guests looking for value in "Hotels Near Of Me." This usually includes a variety of hot and cold options, fresh fruit, pastries, and beverages.

  • Fitness Center: Guests can expect a well-equipped fitness center, often open 24/7, allowing them to maintain their exercise routines and stay active during their stay.

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi: High-speed wireless internet access is standard throughout the hotel, essential for both business productivity and leisure connectivity.

  • Business Services: The hotel likely offers a dedicated business center with computers, printing facilities, and potentially small meeting rooms or flexible spaces for informal gatherings, catering to the needs of corporate travelers.

  • Guest Laundry: For extended stays, on-site coin-operated or complimentary guest laundry facilities are a crucial convenience, enabling guests to pack lighter and maintain their wardrobe.

  • EV Charging Stations: A significant modern amenity, the hotel boasts a "rather large charging amenity" for Electric Vehicle (EV) owners. This feature addresses the growing demand for EV infrastructure among travelers. However, it's crucial to note the feedback regarding pricing: one reviewer stated it was "needlessly overpriced, in fact the highest price I have ever seen in my decade of charging. At $2/kWh it is the rough equivalent of ~$13/gallon of gas." They noted that "The next closest charger is priced at $0.40/kWh," indicating a substantial premium at the hotel. While the availability is a strong point, the cost might deter some EV owners from utilizing it extensively.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: Residence Inn properties typically welcome pets, recognizing that many travelers consider their furry companions part of the family. While specific fees (often a non-refundable pet fee per stay) and policies (e.g., weight limits, designated pet relief areas) would need to be confirmed directly with the hotel, this is a common and appreciated amenity.

  • Outdoor Space and Social Areas: Many Residence Inn locations thoughtfully include outdoor spaces such as a patio with a fire pit, grilling area, or sports court, enhancing the social and leisure aspects of the stay. These areas provide opportunities for relaxation and interaction beyond the guest suites.

Features and Distinguishing Aspects:

The Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park distinguishes itself significantly within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category due to several key features that appeal to a broad range of travelers:

  • Brand New Property: Its recent construction means guests benefit from modern design, fresh furnishings, and up-to-date technology and infrastructure. One reviewer's declaration that it was "Easily the nicest Residence Inn I have stayed at" speaks volumes about its quality and contemporary appeal within the brand.

  • Spacious Suite-Style Living: The emphasis on large rooms with full kitchenettes sets it apart from traditional hotels, making it exceptionally well-suited for extended stays, families, or anyone desiring more space and the convenience of home-cooked meals. This promotes a truly comfortable and adaptable "home away from home" experience.

  • Unbeatable Proximity to CIA: Its location directly across from the Culinary Institute of America is a major draw and a unique selling point, making it the top choice for anyone visiting the renowned culinary school.

  • Comprehensive Amenities for Extended Stays: Beyond the kitchenettes, amenities like guest laundry, a fitness center, and complimentary breakfast underscore its suitability for longer visits, providing conveniences that are often crucial for travelers staying more than a few nights.

  • EV Charging Availability: The presence of EV charging stations caters to the growing segment of electric vehicle owners, positioning the hotel as a modern and accommodating choice. While the pricing is a point of contention, the availability itself is a significant advantage.

  • Marriott Quality and Loyalty Program: As a Marriott brand, guests can generally expect a certain standard of quality, cleanliness, and professional service. Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points, enjoying loyalty benefits that add significant value for frequent travelers.

Promotional Information and Guest Experiences:

The Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park, being a Marriott property, actively promotes itself through the Marriott website, its own direct channels, and various online travel agencies. Guests can expect to find promotional offers such as seasonal discounts, package deals (e.g., with local attractions or events), and special rates for Marriott Bonvoy members. Its newness, desirable features, and prime location are often highlighted in its marketing to attract travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Hudson Valley.

The provided customer reviews offer strong and largely consistent insights into the guest experience. Both reviewers had a "wonderful stay" at this "newish hotel." Key positive takeaways consistently highlighted include the "helpful and friendly" staff, the "immaculate" and "huge" rooms (specifically praised for being "Residence Inn style with kitchenette and sitting area"), and a complimentary breakfast that was notably "a good notch above the usual free hotel breakfast fare." One reviewer confidently stated, "Will definitely stay here again," underscoring a high level of satisfaction with their experience.

The primary and almost sole area of concern highlighted in the reviews relates to the EV charging. While the hotel offers a "rather large charging amenity," the pricing is explicitly criticized as "needlessly overpriced, in fact the highest price I have ever seen in my decade of charging. At $2/kWh it is the rough equivalent of ~$13/gallon of gas." This issue, while not detracting from the overall room quality, staff service, or breakfast, did "frustrate an otherwise wonderful stay" for an EV owner. This suggests that while the hotel is excellent in most aspects, EV owners should be prepared for potentially high charging costs on-site or plan to utilize more affordably priced alternative charging options in the vicinity, as highlighted by the reviewer's comparison.

In conclusion, the Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park is a highly recommended option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Hyde Park. It offers modern, spacious, and impeccably clean suite-style accommodations, consistently excellent service, and a superior complimentary breakfast, making it ideal for both short visits and extended stays. Its prime location near the CIA and other historical sites further enhances its appeal. The only significant caveat to consider is the pricing of its on-site EV charging stations, which electric vehicle owners should factor into their travel budget or plans.

Wonderful overnight stay at this newish hotel. Perfect location for us as we were dining at the CIA. If the weather had been good would probably have just walked to the restaurant. Hyde Park Belfield Inn by Marriott – I highly recommend this hotel to everyone! As a frequent business traveler, I stay at many Marriott locations, and this is easily in my top three. The front desk staff, both during the day and evening, are incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring an outstanding guest experience. All the staff members at this hotel are very kind, but I especially want to highlight Liz and Mary at the front desk—they are truly amazing! Kudos to the hotels leadership—when your team is this happy and customer-focused, it's clear you're doing something right. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stunning exterior and an equally impressive interior. From the moment you walk in, the lobby exudes warmth and comfort. The **Storyteller Restaurant delivers exceptional food, presented with care and attention to detail. If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I absolutely would. Highly recommended!

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. However, a couple of issued during my short stay left me a bit disappointed. For starters, I reported that the shower door did not close all the way. This was not addressed and resulted in a slip and fall yesterday morning due to the floor being went, which is tied to the door. Secondly, I also communicated that the shelf in the bathroom was coming out of the wall as the plastic mounts in the wall are not secure. This also was not addressed. Lastly, my room was not made up. That in itself is not a big deal. Collectively it shows a lack of concern for customer issues and resulted in me slipping and falling on a wet floor. I was not injured but very angry this simple repair was not completed which is a safety issue. I also discovered the sink this morning the faucet in the bathroom is not securely fastened. I rate my stay overall as an 6 out of 10. The four issues I raised caused the four point difference. I hope you find this feedback useful. Looking for to maybe staying In the future.

The hotel is lovely and in a wonderful location. The lobby is gorgeous and I love the added touch of all of the local treats, for a cost, that are in the room. The rooms are extremely clean and up to date. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed in the level of service. We are Titanium and only travel Marriott. We are pretty frequent travelers. This trip was to visit family and we had our kids with us. We reserved a room with two queens so we could all be in the same room. I checked in on the app earlier in the day (11am) and indicated an 8pm check in time. When we arrived to the hotel, they said that we had two reservations. Turns out the hotel changed us to two rooms, each with a king bed. The rooms were adjoining but not connecting. Anyone with kids, knows this is not an ideal scenario. We were visibly upset and the manager said “what else do you want me to do”. In my opinion, and from my experience, this could have been handled much better. First, don’t move your Titanium members and if it’s really necessary, a call would have been helpful. Secondly, an offer to buy a drink, comp back our points, or something would have helped the situation. Third, an apology would have went a long way too - he acted like it was a favor giving us a second room at no charge. Some customer service training, especially to your most loyal customers, may go a long way.
