So the positives! The room had been freshly decorated so nice and fresh! Very comfy bed. The staff were helpful. Location is great. Negatives....I'll ignore the ongoing work as that's unavoidable. The TV didn't work. The phone didn't work. There was a buzz that lasted a few seconds which happened every minute, sounded almost like an intercom. The curtains are thin and decorative so if you wake up with daylight, you'll wake up early! They were obviously in a hurry to do the rooms, paint on lights, floor etc. The biggest negative, I don't know if it's with changing of systems but we checked out 3 weeks ago and the security deposit hasn't been returned. Hilton just keep saying wait a few more days, hotel fails to reply to emails/chat. So I'm still $300 out of pocket. These might all be teething issues, it's not long been taken over but we won't book again

Magnolia Hotel New Orleans Introduce

Howdy, fellow Louisianans! When planning your next visit to our beloved Crescent City, whether for a spirited weekend of revelry, a cultural immersion, or a productive business trip, finding a hotel that genuinely adds to your New Orleans experience is key. The Magnolia Hotel New Orleans, located right in the bustling Central Business District, aims to offer just that – a blend of historic charm and modern comfort, perfectly situated for exploring everything NOLA has to offer.

This hotel, housed in a building originally constructed in 1863 and reimagined in 2019, offers a vivid reflection of the city's unique charm and mystery. Guests have noted that rooms are "freshly decorated," providing a "nice and fresh" ambiance with "very comfy beds." While a recent transition has brought some "ongoing work" and "teething issues" for some guests, the hotel's commitment to refreshing its spaces is evident.

A standout feature consistently praised by visitors is the staff. Many reviews highlight the team as "helpful," "super friendly," and "very accommodating." This dedication to guest service is a significant positive, as attentive staff can truly elevate any hotel stay. Issues, when they arise, are often met with a quick response and willingness to assist, such as moving guests to a new room if needed.

The "location is great," according to guests, offering easy access to the French Quarter and other major attractions. This prime positioning allows you to immerse yourself in the vibrant life of New Orleans with minimal travel time. While some past guests have raised concerns about specific room issues like non-working TVs or phones, and a strong mildew/mold scent in a new room along with an elevator being broken, these appear to be isolated incidents or "teething issues" given the recent changes and renovations. The hotel also has a pet-friendly policy that welcomes all sizes and breeds, though it's important for pet owners to know there isn't much immediate grass area nearby. While not claiming to be a "luxury" hotel in every aspect, particularly in light of some past feedback, the Magnolia Hotel New Orleans focuses on providing a comfortable base with friendly service and an unbeatable location, making it a viable option for those prioritizing accessibility and a pleasant staff interaction.

I gave it two stars strictly because the staff was super friendly and that’s it. 1.) location is sketchy. In the parking lot across the street there was a man doing drugs. We arrived at like 9:30pm and instantly felt on edge 2.) our room was dusty and there was mold. 3.) toilet didn’t work, there was a bug in the tub, and the ceiling was partially collapsed 4.) our towels were ALREADY wet 5.) went downstairs to address issues 2-4 and the gentleman did not hesitate to move us to a new room which was nice. Problem was that the new room had a leaking ceiling in the bathroom and as a result, had a very strongly mildew/mold scent. 6.) although “pet friendly” we had to drive elsewhere for our dog to do her business because there’s not a blade of grass anywhere near the hotel for animals to relieve themselves. Not to mention she also was not feeling the vibe and got extremely anxious every-time we stepped back into the doors. 7.) elevator was broken 8.) breakfast consisted of cereal with no milk and stale pastries. If you’re in NOLA to get drunk on bourbon st and you don’t really have high expectations for where you lay your head at night, this is a great place to stay because it’s within walking distance but for this hotel to refer to itself as “luxury” is a joke. Would NEVER stay here again

Overall a great hotel! We had a fantastic stay. Area was nice and quiet, with easy walking distance to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. Room was very clean and had all basic amenities (except for a fridge and microwave) which was very disappointing as we did have lots of leftover food. However, staff were very kind and accommodating and allowed us to check in early since our flight landed early. Location is great if you’re looking for a nice quiet stay.

I have a love and hate feeling with this Hotel. PROS: - Location is great. Close enough to walk to canal and Bourbon but not too close. - I had a King size bed corner room with double windows on each wall and the view was amazing. Loved it especially in the mornings. - Front desk was great. I cannot remember the lady’s name but she was exceptional. I’d really only come back because she does a fantastic job. CONS: - Constant street/city noise, I mean what do you expect from a city hotel. If you get a window room, expect lots of revving engines, loud music and sirens throughout the night. - No microwave or refrigerator. - Only Valet Parking which price varies depending on size of vehicle. - Tub water kept backing up from the shower head overpressure. -Valet parking is in another building so you would need to call 15-20mins in advance for your vehicle. Reason I give it a 4 is because of the room. When it was quiet the room with the view of the sunrise made up for the cons.

We stayed here during March break for a few days. Our initial room was a King bed and really crammed for a family of 4 (2 kids and 2 adults). It also had a very loud toilet that would go on for a few minutes after the flush was pulled. We spoke with the front desk team and they moved us to a room with 2 Queen beds the next day. Service was amazing! Location is amazing; we were able to walk everywhere! The continental breakfast on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired- they only offer cold items- no protein options (boiled eggs would be great) or hot food. Coffee was decent. We liked the rustic look of the hotel, but missed having a mini fridge / microwave. Would go back- esp because of the service.
