With its unique blend of historic elegance, personalized service, and a prime location on the edge of the French Quarter, Melrose Mansion is an ideal retreat for locals seeking a special getaway or a luxurious staycation in our vibrant city.

The property offers a serene outdoor pool, a "quiet and shaded" oasis perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. Guests consistently rave about the "excellent customer service" and the thoughtful touches like complimentary snacks and drinks, which truly make you feel at home. Melrose Mansion is ideally situated at 937 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116, USA. This highly sought-after address places it strategically on the picturesque Esplanade Avenue, a grand boulevard that elegantly borders the historic French Quarter and connects to the culturally rich Faubourg Marigny. This location is a significant advantage, offering the perfect balance of proximity to New Orleans' most famous attractions and a welcome distance from the constant noise and crowds of the inner Quarter.
The accessibility from Melrose Mansion is consistently praised by guests. It's truly "close to the activities in the French Quarter but far enough away you could sleep when you wanted." This means you're just a short walk to iconic landmarks: Bourbon Street is typically a 2-minute walk, and the vibrant live music scene of Frenchman Street is only about 6 minutes away on foot. Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, and the historic French Market are also within easy walking distance, allowing you to immerse yourself in the city's charm without needing a car. For those driving, one of the standout features mentioned by guests is that "the parking was a DREAM." Jun 10, 2025 · jason gravesMy husband and I were in town for a wedding and Melrose was a great spot to experience true New Orleans. The location was perfect, the parking was a DREAM, the complementary snacks and drinks were very appreciated, and we checked in with Emily who was an absolute joy also! My husband and I love picking places that are more historic anytime we visit and we’ll definitely be back to this one.
Feb 25, 2025 · Ellen DymondOk we came in from San Antonio Texas. They charge for parking $45 a day and a 350 Emnity charge I believe it’s called. But it lovely old classic French design very beautiful. Cashier was wonderful explained everything to my husband. No problems a lot of repairs going on around on the streets. plenty of restaurants. Like every where. you can walk to and from. Including by bourbon street a couple of streets down mission about 5 blocks down. Go past the bourbon street towards the church and the jail that is now a marti gra museum more stuff down there. there is towels outside for the pool everything seems secure otherwise just dont walk by yourself supposedly on the reviews I read and also pick pockets too. One more thing stay away from those people that ask for money one grabbed my husband wanted to make a bet. Then he asked for money we like-do not carry cash. After he found out started to curse at us. The second one ask for money! My husband said how about some food so we bought him two slices of pizza he was happy looked like he wanted to cry. But was respectful. He gave me some beads I assume he got it from the ground or caught it. No tits involved they just ask for catching beads. But some throw the beads hard. Ass**** so I don’t even try to catch them. But all in all we had a good time looking around and just eating . Took a carriage ride they informed you about the buildings, surroundings, back ground on where everything came from-$30 dollars a person and don’t listen to all the peoples referrals where to go eat. Just use google reviews. Burger place around the corner just plain smoked burgers baked potatoes are very good. The monsoon drink wow! I only drank a quarter of it I was drunk but I had not eaten at all so watch out for that drink they sell. Breakfast at 730. If door is closed the girls are not ready yet, then they open it . Help yourself to their hot coffee very Hot! Receptionist and dining helpers are very nice. The parking is safe 45 dollars a day. They have cameras watching back there. I carried a small charger cause we practically stayed out all day slept in and nothing really starts till later. These walls are hollow you can hear everything. Outside people walking and talking! Yah that hollow. Bed are clean no mites.. I’m allergic so yes I am grateful the specially clean beds. Small rooms but we were not here just slept here it was a great experience here I will recommend this place. Be respectful when u come in drunk hahah some are really sleeping some are dead drunk too but you can hear everything. It wa great here!
May 18, 2025 · Virginia ZamoraMy husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Roomza's property last week and we FELL IN LOVE. The staff that we met, Jason and Emily, were so hospitable and enjoyable to talk to. The property is lovely, and our room overlooking the pool gave us the best views. Would definitely stay here again!
Jan 22, 2025 · Carter RoweFirst off I’ve stayed at the melrose couple times in the past and everything was great, despite we had to wait almost 2 hours past our check in time.. this past Christmas my girlfriend and I booked a jacuzzi suite in the main building.. this room was $350.00 per night,, and of course we booked it because of the jacuzzi tub, which DID NOT WORK!!!! As well as the toilet was coming out of the floor.. I very politely went and told the front desk, and of course they tell me since I booked it through a 3rd party there is nothing they can do! Which is BULL****! It’s always a 3rd party booking! I haven’t been able to book a hotel through the property’s website in I can’t remember when. I thought I would at least get an email or call from the manger.. I wasn’t even looking for my money back but I definitely expected a comped night next time I stayed… that’s didn’t happen and I will never stay there again! Beautiful property, questionable service..
