The staff was all wonderful and it is appreciated. The room itself had issues with the door opening and closing. We also had a light flickering and I ended up taking care of the bulb in the bathroom myself but just taking it out and putting it in. My husband found a pill on the ground between the right bed and the heater. That was def worrisome as we had a baby there on the floor. Which is how he found it. Breakfast didn't even start til 8 which is sure hard for early birds. My kids get up at 6 so that was hard to wait for it. Yes we could have left the hotel but wanted to eat there and use the credit. The pool didn't open til 8 either, which I think should have opened earlier ( again for the early risers ) especially since the gym was open and people were going in there even before 7. The hotel grounds weren't stroller/ wheelchair friendly. I came to this spot bc it said it was more family friendly but for my little ones, it really wasn't accommodating for them at all. The cost was super expensive and a lot of stuff was an additional fee. The only activities my kids could do was the fire pit and rock climbing. I think the place is definitely geared more for kids 10 and older. That is totally fine, but I think it's misleading then to say it's kid friendly. The kite restaurant didn't have a breakfast buffet price listed anywhere. I had to ask. And again very expensive for breakfast. Yes it's a buffet and thankfully we had a credit, but to spend that kind of $ on breakfast is not great at all. The indoor pool was cold, the outdoor was lovely but the indoor could have been a little warmer. There really wasn't much to do there as I said for kids. We have stayed at places for $200+ less a night and had a much nicer experience. But everyone was super nice as I said so that's definitely something to note.
For those searching under the "Hotels Near Me" category in the scenic Vernon Township, New Jersey, Minerals Hotel emerges as a prominent option, particularly for guests looking for a resort experience. Located at 2 Chamonix Dr, Vernon Township, NJ 07462, USA, Minerals Hotel is a key component of the larger Crystal Springs Resort, known for its extensive recreational facilities and beautiful natural surroundings. While often touted as family-friendly, a detailed look reveals it caters to a specific demographic within that category, notably children aged 10 and older, alongside adults seeking leisure and activities.
Minerals Hotel is set amidst the picturesque landscapes of Vernon Township, offering a tranquil escape in the Kittatinny Mountains of Northwestern New Jersey. The environment surrounding the hotel is characterized by rolling hills, lush greenery, and access to outdoor activities that vary with the seasons. Its location within the broader Crystal Springs Resort complex means guests have access to multiple golf courses, spa facilities, and dining options, although some of these may require short travel within the resort grounds or to other nearby Crystal Springs properties like Grand Cascades Lodge.
The hotel's design and atmosphere lean towards a blend of comfort and activity, primarily due to the extensive Minerals Sports Club located on-site. This makes it a hub for guests interested in fitness and a wide array of sports. The natural setting provides a pleasant backdrop for relaxation, and while the grounds themselves may not be entirely stroller or wheelchair friendly in all areas, the hotel strives to offer accessible options within its main facilities.
For those attending events, such as weddings, the environment can be quite conducive to celebrations, as evidenced by a glowing review of a wedding held at the venue. The overall impression of the setting is one of a comprehensive resort aiming to provide a varied experience within a beautiful natural backdrop, though guests should be prepared for the expansive nature of the resort and how activities are distributed.
Minerals Hotel offers a wide array of services and amenities designed to keep guests active and entertained. A major draw is the impressive indoor pool, which is one of the largest in New Jersey. While one review noted the indoor pool being cold, the resort aims for a comfortable swimming experience, and it's a popular feature for both adults and children. There is also an outdoor pool, which was positively reviewed for its pleasant temperature. The pool areas are generally well-maintained, providing a refreshing escape.
The highlight of Minerals Hotel's offerings is arguably the Minerals Sports Club. This extensive facility includes multiple sports courts for basketball, indoor tennis, and racquetball, along with a comprehensive fitness center. The gym is noted for its early opening hours, catering to early risers, although the pool's later opening (8 AM) may be a slight inconvenience for some families. Other activities mentioned include a fire pit and rock climbing, which are available for guests.
For relaxation and rejuvenation, Minerals Hotel is home to Elements Spa. This award-winning spa focuses on natural ingredients and therapies inspired by the elements. Guests can indulge in a range of services, including massages, facials, and body treatments. The spa, along with the resort's other amenities, contributes to the overall wellness aspect of a stay at Minerals Hotel.
Dining at Minerals Hotel includes the Kites Restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While the restaurant provides a buffet option for breakfast, guests should be aware that it can be quite expensive, even when utilizing hotel credits. This was a point of contention for one reviewer who found the breakfast buffet price to be high and the quality of some buffet items, such as certain hot table dishes, to be disappointing. However, other culinary experiences within the broader Crystal Springs Resort, such as wedding catering, have received high praise for their quality and variety. The hotel also features bars where guests can enjoy drinks, though the pricing for beverages, such as a Bloody Mary, was noted as being quite high.
The staff at Minerals Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for their wonderful and kind demeanor, with many guests expressing gratitude for their helpfulness and excellent service. This commitment to guest satisfaction is a significant strength of the hotel. Other services include complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring guests can stay connected throughout their stay, and the convenience of available credit for dining, though its value needs careful consideration.
Minerals Hotel offers comfortable accommodations designed to cater to various guest needs. While specific room details may vary, the general emphasis is on providing a relaxing environment after a day of activities. One review noted some minor room issues, such as a flickering light and a difficult-to-open door, indicating that while the rooms are generally comfortable, occasional maintenance issues might arise. A significant concern raised was the discovery of a pill on the floor, highlighting the importance of thorough cleaning, especially when traveling with young children.
Despite these isolated concerns, the rooms are typically well-appointed with essential amenities. Suites, when available, are often spacious, providing extra room for families, and some may include features like fireplaces for added comfort and ambiance. The presence of such amenities aims to enhance the in-room experience, offering a cozy retreat.
The hotel is part of a larger resort that frequently hosts events, particularly weddings. The ability to host and cater large-scale events with excellent service, as highlighted by a guest whose son was married there, underscores the hotel's capacity and dedication to making special occasions memorable. The staff's efficiency in managing events, including handling lost and returned items, reflects a commitment to guest satisfaction and security.
While marketed as family-friendly, it's important to set expectations, especially for those with very young children. As one reviewer explicitly stated, the activities available at Minerals Hotel may be more suitable for children aged 10 and older. Younger children might find fewer engaging activities directly at the hotel itself, though the broader Crystal Springs Resort does offer more diverse options. The cost of a stay here is noted as being on the higher side, with many activities incurring additional fees, which is something potential guests should factor into their budget planning.
As part of the Crystal Springs Resort, Minerals Hotel frequently participates in various promotional campaigns and offers throughout the year. These promotions are designed to attract different types of travelers and cater to seasonal activities. While specific deals change, common types of promotions guests can expect include:

May 10, 2025 · Sandra Schimmenti QuigleyI stayed here for a couple days as it was one of the few options for a trail marathon I was taking part in the area. It's an older resort that has comfortable beds and pillows. The bar and restaurants were good and the service at them was outstanding. They also have a really nice gym. I do think it was bit overpriced but we really didn't have that many other options for lodging in the area.
May 05, 2025 · Christopher BielinskiI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Minerals Hotel Resort, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The front desk staff, especially Sue, Rachel, and Mia, made check-in smooth and welcoming. Their warm, friendly service set the tone for the entire stay. A big shout-out also goes to the servers at Kite Restaurant—Barbara, Conner, and Nick. They went above and beyond to ensure every meal was enjoyable, offering excellent recommendations and making each dining experience a delight. The Elements Spa provided an amazing massage, truly a highlight of my trip. The serene atmosphere and professional service left me feeling completely rejuvenated. The pools were fantastic—immaculate, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing or enjoying some family fun. The resort itself was impeccably clean, and the staff was always available and eager to assist. The ambience throughout the resort is incredibly family-friendly, making it an ideal getaway for those looking to enjoy quality time with loved ones. Whether you’re here to unwind or explore, the Minerals Hotel Resort offers the perfect blend of relaxation and activities. I can’t wait to return! Eric and Annette Padilla
Dec 22, 2024 · Eric PadillaI recently stayed at the Crystal Springs Resort Mineral Hotel for a spontaneous birthday treat to myself, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional—thanks in large part to Rachel at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, Rachel’s personable and extremely helpful demeanor set the tone for a wonderful stay. Rachel went above and beyond in every interaction. I witnessed her upgrade a couple’s room simply because she sensed their good vibe, which, in my opinion, is a reflection of her own good energy. She extended my checkout time by an hour, allowing me to enjoy my stay without feeling rushed. And let me tell you, I asked her at least twenty questions (some of which I repeated—oops!), and she patiently answered every single one with a smile. The facilities were excellent—the spa, gym, jacuzzi, and pool were pristine and fully equipped, and the locker room was immaculate. Even the breakfast choices at the restaurant accommodated my Daniel Fast dietary needs, which was such a pleasant surprise. Every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations, but Rachel truly was the icing on the cake. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine desire to ensure guests have a great experience deserve recognition. Rachel expels the best to those she serves, and she deserves nothing but the best in return. Crystal Springs Resort is lucky to have her!
