If you don't want AC, or Wifi, and you have no interest in a friend or a family member spending a day with you on the beach, this place may be OK for you. But, if you do have a visitor, be prepared to be screamed at, like I was, and accused of having more people staying in your apartment than are allowed. (There weren't. My sister's husband came out for the afternoon, and a friend of mine who lives nearby, came to visit for a few hours on the beach.) I went to the expense of renting a two-bedroom apartment for the week so my granddaughter and her boyfriend could spend the weekend with me and my sister. They left after one night: it was too hot to sleep with no AC, they couldn't do work that needed to be done because the Wifi was a joke. Despite the expense and the lovely beach, I ended up spending my days at Indian Wells, where I was allowed to sit with a local friend and/or family members.

Ocean Dunes Apartments Introduce

For individuals exploring "Hotels Near Me" options in the Amagansett area of Long Island, Ocean Dunes Apartments, located at 379 Bluff Rd, Amagansett, NY 11930, USA, presents itself as a potential accommodation choice. This property offers apartment-style lodging, aiming to provide a stay on the beachfront. Guests can reach them by phone at (631) 267-8121 or +1 631-267-8121 for inquiries.

The environment of Ocean Dunes Apartments is characterized by its beachfront location on Bluff Road in Amagansett. This positioning inherently offers guests proximity to the ocean and direct access to the beach. The primary draw of this location is the natural beauty of the Hamptons coastline, providing opportunities for beach activities and enjoying the serene maritime landscape. For those prioritizing direct beach access, the setting of Ocean Dunes Apartments could be appealing. However, an objective understanding of the environment must also consider other aspects of the property itself. Customer feedback indicates that aspects of the property's physical environment, particularly regarding updates, might be a consideration. One review states, "EVERYTHING IS OLD AND NEEDS UPDATE," suggesting that the facilities and decor may not reflect modern standards or recent renovations. This indicates that while the natural surroundings are a strong point, the built environment of the apartments might show signs of age.

Regarding services, it is crucial for prospective guests to be aware of the experiences reported by past visitors. Customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the attitude of the staff. One guest described it as "UNACCEPTABLE ATTITUDE TO GUESTS," noting that "The people working at this place are unfriendly, starting with the superintendent who may greet guests with F.U. words." Another review mentions being "screamed at" and "accused of having more people staying in your apartment than are allowed" simply for having visitors for a few hours. These accounts suggest that the guest service approach at Ocean Dunes Apartments has been a considerable point of dissatisfaction for some visitors. This contrasts sharply with expectations of hospitality in accommodations. While information on standard services like housekeeping or maintenance isn't explicitly detailed, the prominent negative feedback on staff interaction is a key aspect of the service environment to consider.

The features of Ocean Dunes Apartments, based on customer feedback, present certain limitations that prospective guests should consider. A significant concern raised by a reviewer is the lack of air conditioning, stating, "If you don't want AC... this place may be OK for you." This is a critical amenity for comfort, particularly during warmer months, and its absence can significantly impact a guest's stay, as noted by a family who found it "too hot to sleep." Another feature that received strong negative feedback is the Wi-Fi connectivity. One guest commented that the "Wifi was a joke," making it impossible to "do work that needed to be done." For travelers reliant on internet access for work or leisure, this represents a considerable drawback. Furthermore, the property has a strict visitor policy, as evidenced by the incident where a guest's sister's husband and a friend visiting for a few hours on the beach led to confrontation, implying a lack of flexibility regarding guests having external visitors on the premises. Other specific rules include a "no pets allowed" policy and a potential "fine of $250" if the front door is not slammed, indicating very specific and potentially stringent house rules that guests must adhere to. The review also mentions the property being "old," suggesting that appliances, furnishings, and overall interior might be outdated, which could affect the comfort and functionality of the apartments.

In terms of promotional information, it is important to provide an objective view based on the available customer experiences. While the direct beachfront access of Ocean Dunes Apartments could be seen as a natural promotional aspect for those searching "Hotels Near Me" with a focus on coastal proximity, the negative reviews severely temper this. The sentiments expressed, such as "NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE. I don't recommend staying there. Not worth the money. I will tell all my colleagues and friends NEGATIVELY about my experience," indicate that prior guests have had very unsatisfactory experiences. This strong negative word-of-mouth would be a significant factor for any potential guest. The high expense mentioned by one reviewer ("Despite the expense...") further suggests that the value proposition, in their opinion, does not align with the cost, particularly given the issues with amenities and staff attitude. For those considering Ocean Dunes Apartments, it is crucial to weigh the appeal of its beachfront location against the consistent and strong concerns raised regarding guest service, lack of essential amenities like AC and reliable Wi-Fi, and the overall condition of the property. Prospective guests are advised to carefully consider these points before making a booking decision.

NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE. I don't recommend staying there. Not worth the money. I will tell all my colleagues and friends NEGATIVELY about my experience at Ocean Dunes, Amagansett, NY. 1. UNACCEPTABLE ATTITUDE TO GUESTS. The people working at this place are unfriendly, starting with the superintendent who may greet guests with F.U. words. 2. EVERYTHING IS OLD AND NEEDS UPDATE. 3-4. Pets are not allowed and remember to slam the front door or it´s a fine of $250. But all this is not as important as the unacceptable attitude towards guests.

The grounds are magnificent. The pool, gorgeous nature walk over the Double Dune Preserve to the beach and the view from our room made for a very special vacation. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is it. You’ll need to speak in a whisper when you are on your deck or by the pool. This worked perfectly for us, but if you are looking for some action, this isn’t the place for you. The unit we stayed in was sufficient, that’s where the 4 rating comes from, otherwise this place is a 5+. From my very first phone call, Dimitri, the property manager, was helpful, kind and patient. His professionalism and care set the tone for our week’s stay. It’s obvious that customer service is integral to this property, as everyone I encountered did their best to ensure that our needs were met. We’ll definitely make our way back to this little slice of heaven in Amagansett.

We’ve loved the calm, relaxing beautiful place though the apartment we stayed in was far from being perfect. But the Ocean Dunes Apartments area and location were magical to me and my husband. Martin the nicest! We’ve been there late September, the weather (the sunsets!!) was nice, and the place and the Hamptons pretty isolated, in a good way. 🏊‍♀️ 🦌 🌅 🌲

I stayed here 4th of July weekend summer of 2020 with my fiancée during the pandemic. It was a fantastic and relaxing getaway from Manhattan for a week, and we got to put Covid out of our minds and soak up the sun both on the beach & pool side. I love that The Ocean Dunes Apartments has both a really nice pool with lounge chairs/umbrellas, as well as a private beach with lounge chairs & umbrellas, so if you want to hit the beach instead of the pool, take a 2 minute stroll down their boardwalk and you'll find yourself on one of the nicest beaches in The Hamptons...It's the "Best of Both Worlds"...The property is private, secure, peaceful, and right in the heart of The Hamptons, also not far from Montauk. Location is ideal, ocean front and the local shops & restaurants are literally a walk away. Highly recommend...We look forward to going back again!
