I've stayed here many times, primarily because it's affordable and the pet fee was low. However, recently they've now increased the pet fee from 20/STAY to 25/DAY (first 3 days then 10/day). When I checked in, the choice privileges app stated the first fee and the hotel changed it in the middle of my stay and tried to charge me for it. I declined as I had a screenshot (thank goodness!) on my phone from when I checked in. This hotel is also now attempting to charge a 100 USD incidental fee. This is listed NOWHERE on the app or their site....nor is it even posted as a sign near the desk. Nope, declined this one as well. I do my research about fees and I'm happy to pay what is listed, but I hate being nickel and dimed when I'm staying here for 3 weeks and rarely ask for any services as I take care of my room because I have a dog. For a pet friendly hotel, I haven't seen ANY pet waste disposal cans or bags. The rooms are outdated and furniture is worn out/damaged and bathroom tubs were painted with a Non water resistant paint, causing every tub I've seen to look worse than it actually is because the paint is peeled off. For the 2 stars I gave....that's for the desk staff and the fact that it's pretty quiet. This place needs a large infusion of cash and care to renovate it.

When considering a stay at the Quality Inn Carlisle, it's helpful to have a detailed understanding of what the hotel offers, keeping in mind the practicalities important to local residents, whether for personal travel, visiting family, or temporary stays. This introduction will provide an objective overview of the hotel's environment, services, features, and any available promotional information, based on publicly available details and customer feedback.

Environment:

The Quality Inn Carlisle is located on Harrisburg Pike, a main thoroughfare in Carlisle, offering relatively easy access to local attractions and routes. However, based on recent customer reviews, the interior environment of the hotel appears to be a point of concern. Guests have described the rooms as "outdated" with "worn out/damaged" furniture. Specific observations include bathroom tubs where "paint is peeled off," suggesting a need for renovation. The lighting throughout the establishment, including hallways, has been noted as dim, with some bulbs described as "low wattage/lumens" or "burned out," which guests feel contributes to a "seedy feel." Cleanliness is also a recurring theme in feedback, with reports of "disgustingly stained" towels and an accumulation of dirt and stains on sheets. While the exterior and immediate surroundings may be standard for a roadside inn, the interior common areas and guest rooms are consistently described as being in need of significant updates and maintenance. Despite these points, some guests have found the hotel to be "pretty quiet," which can be a valuable aspect for a comfortable stay.

Services:

As a Quality Inn, the hotel generally aims to provide standard services expected of its brand, which typically include amenities like complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, and often a pool or fitness center, although specific details on these facilities for this particular location are not extensively highlighted in recent reviews. A significant service aspect for this hotel is its pet-friendly policy. While it does accommodate pets, there have been recent changes and issues reported regarding pet fees. Previously, the fee was $20 per stay, but it has reportedly increased to $25 per day for the first three days, followed by $10 per day thereafter. It's crucial for guests to confirm these fees at the time of booking, as discrepancies have been noted between app listings and hotel charges. Furthermore, a new "incidental fee" of $100 USD has been reported, which guests claim is not clearly listed on the app or the hotel's site, nor posted at the desk. This fee, like the pet fee, should be verified directly with the hotel. On a positive note, the desk staff has received praise, with some guests finding them helpful and contributing positively to their stay experience.

Features:

Beyond its location, a key feature of the Quality Inn Carlisle is its affordability, which has historically attracted guests. Its pet-friendly status is another significant feature, catering to travelers with animals. However, a point of concern for pet owners is the reported lack of "pet waste disposal cans or bags" on the property, which can be an inconvenience. The rooms themselves are equipped with basic amenities, though their condition has been highlighted as a drawback. The hotel provides accommodation suitable for short or extended stays, as evidenced by guests staying for several weeks. The quiet atmosphere mentioned by some guests can be considered a positive feature, especially for those seeking a restful night. While specific details on features like breakfast options, parking availability, or other common hotel amenities are not prominently detailed in the provided feedback, it's reasonable to expect standard offerings commensurate with a Quality Inn property, albeit with varying levels of quality and maintenance as indicated by the reviews. Guests should inquire directly about any specific features they require, such as accessibility features or business services, as these are not explicitly detailed.

Promotional Information:

Based on the provided information, there are no specific promotional packages or discounts explicitly mentioned. However, the hotel's general appeal as an "affordable" option serves as its primary promotional point, especially for budget-conscious travelers. The ability to accommodate pets, despite recent fee changes, also acts as a draw for a specific segment of the market. For those using the Choice Privileges app, it's advised to closely monitor pricing and fee disclosures, as discrepancies have been reported. It is always recommended to check the official Quality Inn website or contact the hotel directly for the most up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any ongoing promotions or discounts that might be available. Potential guests should also be prepared for potential incidental fees and pet fee structures that may differ from what is initially advertised on third-party platforms.

In summary, the Quality Inn Carlisle, as found on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, offers an affordable and pet-friendly accommodation option in Carlisle, PA. Its convenient location on Harrisburg Pike is a plus. While the hotel benefits from positive feedback regarding its quiet environment and helpful desk staff, prospective guests should be aware of reported issues concerning room maintenance, cleanliness, and the clarity of incidental and pet fees. For local users seeking a functional and budget-conscious stay, particularly with pets, the Quality Inn Carlisle could be an option, provided they confirm all charges upfront and manage expectations regarding the property's current condition.

I'm writing this review as I am air drying after my shower. Those towels are so disgustingly stained I will not dry myself with them. I guess, because the paint is peeling in the tub, housekeeping thinks there is no point in cleaning the tub. I suppose the owners think by having lighting so dim, it will keep their guest from noticing all the dirt accumulated and stains on the sheets. Bulbs are either low wattage/lumens and or are burned out. Including the hallways. The darkness really lends to the overall seedy feel of the establishment. There is more but you should get the idea by now.

First off, $3.75 to wash 1 load of clothes, then $3.00 to dry is totally taking advantage of people who live on the road. Not today! The rooms stink too and cig burns in bed spreads, yeah it's that kind of place.

Thank you Ravi!!! He was very professional and courteous!!!Great service! Rooms cleaned daily! One of the best Quality inns we have stayed at! If I’m being honest I think they should offer king size beds in some smoking rooms. Queen size beds are ok for some but hubby and I sleep best in a king! Room was good sized ! Water was hot but shower head wasn’t very good. Great restaurant next door!

During our recent stay at a hotel, I was unfortunate enough to encounter the dirtiest hotel room of my life. The room provided was unhygienic, with a clogged toilet and stained bed sheets. Despite informing the front desk, we were asked to clean the toilet ourselves. We were eventually moved to a new room, but it was just as unpleasant and smelled of urine. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't offer refunds, so we were forced to stay there for the night. Save your money and avoid this unprofessional hotel at all costs!
