I pulled up to what looked like an abandoned area. No wonder they only posted the photo of the top of the hotel with just the name, haha! I should have known, but took a chance and booked with them. I ended up not even staying. No staff in the front/lobby, a window to a room was cracked, the pool was…. It was a swamp. Trash around the grounds and I am telling you it just looks abandoned. The hotel is in the photo, on top of the hill and looked very unkempt and felt a bit unsafe.
For users Browse the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in search of nearby accommodations, we present an objective overview of the RELAX INN, situated at 1247 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013, USA. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and unbiased perspective on the hotel, encompassing its environment, services, features, and any available promotional insights, all within the context of what a local user might expect when seeking a "Hotel Near Of Me."
The RELAX INN is located on Harrisburg Pike, a main thoroughfare in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This positioning typically suggests easy access to local amenities and transportation routes. However, based on customer reviews, the initial impression of the property upon arrival can be starkly different from what one might anticipate from a standard hotel listing. Reports indicate that the hotel, along with adjacent buildings, appears to be in a state of disrepair or even abandonment. One review vividly describes pulling up to "what looked like an abandoned area," noting "no staff in the front/lobby," a "cracked window to a room," and a swimming pool described as a "swamp." Furthermore, guests have observed "trash around the grounds" and a general appearance of being "very unkempt" and feeling "a bit unsafe." Another review explicitly states that the "motel appears to have been sitting abandoned for several years as well as other adjacent buildings, and is in the middle of unfinished renovation." For local users on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, this suggests that while the address places it conveniently, the physical environment might not align with typical expectations for a hospitable lodging establishment.
Regarding services at the RELAX INN, customer feedback paints a picture of extremely limited offerings. Unlike many hotels, even those in the budget category, the RELAX INN is reported to have "one employee and no services or amenities whatsoever." This critical absence of fundamental hotel services is a significant point for prospective guests. Specifically, there are no mentions of complimentary breakfast, which is a common amenity even in economy motels. Reviewers explicitly state "No coffee or food items of any kind, no vending machines." The only listed operational amenity appears to be "one ancient ice machine." The lack of readily available staff is another major concern, with a sign by the front desk reportedly asking guests to "kindly call 911 if there are any emergencies between 5pm and 8am." This suggests that during significant overnight hours, direct hotel assistance for emergencies is not available, relying instead on emergency services. For a "Hotels Near Of Me" search, this lack of service infrastructure is a crucial factor for consideration, as it deviates significantly from standard hotel operational models.
Pertaining to the features of the rooms and the property itself, guests have reported recent renovations, but these appear to have resulted in an unconventional and, at times, problematic outcome. Rooms have been "recently refinished without carpet (gray laminate) which makes the room feel cold and loud and echo excessively." This design choice impacts the comfort and ambiance, potentially making for a less relaxing stay. Beyond the aesthetic, functional issues within the rooms have been noted. One guest reported a "leaking sink drain and a non functional mini fridge" in their room. In an adjacent room, a friend experienced a "toilet that wasn’t properly set and wobbled and rocked on the floor." In terms of entertainment, the TV channels are limited to "roughly 18 standard definition TV channels." The general state of repair and the ongoing, apparently unfinished, renovation contribute to a less-than-ideal guest experience. These details are vital for anyone using "Hotels Near Of Me" to understand the practical aspects of staying at the RELAX INN.
When it comes to promotional information, or rather, pricing, the RELAX INN’s strategy appears to be driven by market demand, particularly during peak events in Carlisle. Despite the reported state of disrepair and lack of amenities, there are claims of significant price increases during high-demand periods. A customer review directly states, "The owner has no problem price gouging, charging upwards of $200 a night during high demand times such as one of Carlisle’s many car shows." This practice, if accurate, means that guests might be paying a premium price for a property that, by many accounts, offers minimal services and sub-optimal conditions. For a "Hotels Near Of Me" search, this pricing strategy, combined with the described environment and features, warrants careful consideration. While the hotel’s phone number (717) 386-5740 and mobile number (+1 717-386-5740) are available for direct inquiries, potential guests should be aware of the reported value proposition.
In summary, for local users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," the RELAX INN at 1247 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013, USA, presents a unique and challenging option. While its location might be geographically convenient, the overwhelming consensus from customer feedback suggests significant concerns regarding the environment, the profound lack of services and amenities, and the condition of the rooms. The property is described as appearing abandoned, unkempt, and in the midst of an unfinished renovation, contributing to a sense of unsafety. Crucial services like front desk staff presence, food options, and even functional room amenities are reported to be largely absent. Furthermore, despite these reported deficiencies, the hotel is said to engage in significant price hikes during peak local events. Therefore, prospective guests seeking a "Hotel Near Of Me" should approach the RELAX INN with extremely tempered expectations, carefully weighing the reported conditions against their accommodation needs and budget. The advice from one former guest, "Take my advice and don’t spend any of your money at this place, sleep in your truck first," encapsulates the sentiment regarding the value offered by the RELAX INN.

Jun 05, 2022 · Drew ShriverNot sure why this place even has a bad review in the first place. Staff is super friendly, they waited for us as a late arrival. Rooms are basic, but that's the point? It's fairly priced hotel to sleep in. I personally couldn't have asked for more.
