My In-laws were living with their grand daughter and as we all said it was NOT a good idea! Basically she used, abused, and terrorized them. We needed a place for them to stay for a couple of weeks until we could get them into their new apartment. My mother in law is 70 and has been fully disabled since she was in her 30’s. My father in law is 84 and has dementia and also has been fully disabled for the past 25 years. So staying in a hotel is NOT ideal. But RENEE from the front desk is AMAZING! She has been so helpful with them and with my husband! We feel they are SAFE because Renee doesn’t just let anyone walk around and to the rooms. An example was my husbands cousin came to see my husbands parents. He’s rude and not good news either! And she stopped him and made sure it was ok with my in laws that he came. Which of course they can see whomever they would like! But it’s WONDERFUL that we KNOW they are safe, and someone is looking out for them when my husband cannot be there! So THANK YOU RENEE for being such a wonderful person in general and taking care of 2 people who are in a TERRIBLE situation! And for making me and my husband feel like his parents are in a safe place since we cannot stay there with them.

My pet was in the hospital getting a procedure and coming from Chicago I figured I could use my EMPLOYEE discount to get a room here just to get there and be told rudely check in is at 3 pm. My husband and I were tired going off of 2 hours of sleep and our pet was in surgery for 10 hours. So we wanted to sleep here for a couple of hours. But nope. Not only that I work in a hotel and not once have I ever told a guest they can get up and hand me their room keys. It’s rude. They’re so rude they didn’t greet us or anything. Just “wait over there check in is at 3”. Staff is beyond rude, definitely will NEVER stay here.
Jun 03, 2025 · Sydny LopezI stayed at the West Madison, WI Quality Inn for 5 days and I know you cannot expect much from a 2.5 star $65 a night hotel but let me tell you about the horrible conditions. There was tons of grime & sludge built up in the sink overflow telling me it hadn't been cleaned in months. The sheets had tears in them, there was stuff stuck on the walls all over, the floor had a bunch of stuff on it, & the toilet was only partially cleaned. I am a very clean person so I told the front desk that I will not need maid services for the time I am there & will even take my own garbage out to trash. I also hung the "do not disturb" sign on the door to make sure there was no confusion. The first day went fine but the next 2 were ridiculous. I was on a lot of business calls and would occasionally go outside to smoke while on these calls. I was on a call and omw back to the room while still on this call & on the way in a older Mexican man from maid service comes up to me and starts insisting on me giving him my towel & trash by saying it over n over louder n louder interrupting my call which was very clear that I was on a call. He would not stop so finally had to put the call on hold to give the man what he wouldn't shut up about. Annoyed The day went on & the very next day, the exact same thing happens again but this time I am on the phone with my boss so I tell him "I am fine don't worry about it" & go into my room & shut the door ignoring the fact that he interrupted my call again. This man then starts beating on the door relentlessly so I yelled again "I am fine & on an important call". This apparently meant nothing to them so he continued beating on the door for another 2 minutes until I finally gave up & opened the door just to hear him say "TRASH". I was barely holding my anger in at this point , & told him I have none. I shut the door again. He continues to beat on the damn door until I open it again just to say "TOWEL!". Now, I had 4 towels in the room, I don't think I need to switch them. This went on over and over until he got what he wanted. Absolutely a joke. That man needs to be fired at the very least he needs English lessons and manners.
May 18, 2025 · Patrick WengerThey ghost charge you $1.06 for a safe. Was there a safe? I don't remember it. This is really not a bad hotel, compared to many. The room is small. To jam the requisite amount of hotel furniture in there, the lamps are smashing up against the walls. The shower was good. The TV mostly worked, but I had to pull the remote apart, and tweak the battery contacts, because it wasn't getting any power. Odd that that would be like that. Would most people think to fix the remote? The fridge was good. I didn't mind, but one thing that might affect some people is that the window is DIRECTLY at ground level (first floor room). I never saw anybody or anything outdoors the entire stay. But the window opens, which I really appreciate, because I prefer fresh air. But, I mean, anything that is one inch or taller could get inside the room, if it could get through the windowscreen. I jammed one of the wooden clotheshangers in the window track, so nobody could pry the window all the way open and get in. Nice, fresh air all night. The place is a little run down, but not as bad as some. The concrete is broken out of the floor at the front door. So the hotel entrance is a patch of busted concrete. Seems like you'd think to fix that. The grounds were swimming with weeds. Staffperson was nice.

Highly recommend this hotel, Immaculately clean, well appointed, great value hotel in the Madison west area. Check-in person was very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!
