The front desk person was not friendly, but worse than that, there were two cockroaches crawling around in my room. The place was filthy, both inside the room and in the hallways/stairwell. Do not walk barefoot in your room either- the carpets will literally turn the soles of your feet black with dirt. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they had zero housekeeping staff. The hotel would clean up nice with some effort and an exterminator. Unfortunately that was not my experience.

The hotel's environment is situated conveniently for access to several local attractions. It is very close to Christiana Mall, a major shopping destination in Delaware, offering tax-free shopping. Additionally, the Christiana Care Health System (Christiana Hospital) is within walking distance, making it a potential choice for those visiting the medical facility. The University of Delaware is also accessible from this location, although a car ride would be necessary. The immediate surroundings are generally commercial, with various dining options and businesses in the vicinity, including some adjacent to the hotel.
In terms of services and features, the Quality Inn typically offers basic conveniences expected from a hotel in its category. Guests can usually find a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi in rooms and common areas, and free self-parking, which may include space for RVs/buses/trucks. The hotel advertises a complimentary "deluxe continental breakfast," though customer reviews frequently highlight significant issues with the quality and cleanliness of this offering. Common room features include air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, coffee/tea makers, microwaves, refrigerators, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. Pillowtop beds are also often listed as a feature, aiming for guest comfort. An outdoor seasonal swimming pool and a fitness center are generally available on-site, providing recreational options.
However, it is crucial for prospective guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" to consider the extensive and highly critical feedback from actual customers when evaluating the Quality Inn at 65 Geoffrey Dr. These reviews paint a stark picture that diverges significantly from typical hotel marketing. The most consistent and alarming complaints revolve around the cleanliness of the property. Guests repeatedly describe rooms, hallways, and stairwells as "filthy," with carpets so dirty that walking barefoot results in black soles. There are multiple reports of active infestations of "cockroaches and ants and bugs" in rooms. Bathrooms are frequently cited as "nasty," with dirty tubs and non-working fixtures like hair dryers or sink lights. The overall impression conveyed is a severe lack of regular and thorough housekeeping, with some guests questioning if housekeeping staff even exist, or if they only "remake the bed" between guests.
Beyond cleanliness, significant concerns about the overall hotel environment and safety are raised. Reviewers consistently mention strong, pervasive odors of "weed, alcohol, cigarettes, and what smells like crack" throughout the hotel, including in the lobby and hallways. This suggests a potentially unregulated or poorly managed environment regarding illegal activities. Safety concerns are compounded by reports of broken room door latches and hinges, making it impossible to secure doors properly. There are also unsettling accounts of housekeeping staff "barging in" even when the deadbolt is engaged and it's not the checkout date, leading to privacy breaches and uncomfortable situations for guests. Furthermore, some guests have expressed feeling unsafe due to the perceived clientele, with direct mentions of "dope dealing" and "prostitution" occurring on the premises, as well as ripped-up and taped-up hallway flooring, and broken elevators adding to the disrepair and safety concerns.
The complimentary breakfast, often a key selling point for budget hotels, also receives severe criticism. Guests report broken coffee machines, rude breakfast staff with "shitty attitudes," and alarming instances of finding "hairs in our waffles," leading to concerns about food hygiene and overall cleanliness of the breakfast area and equipment. The lack of variety and quality in the breakfast offerings ("only waffles yogurt and coffee") is also frequently mentioned.
Promotional information for the Quality Inn would typically highlight its affordable rates, convenient location near shopping and entertainment, and standard amenities like free Wi-Fi and breakfast. It would target travelers looking for a budget-friendly stay. However, based on the overwhelming and consistent negative customer reviews, it is essential for any potential guest searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering this specific Quality Inn to be fully aware of the significant issues reported. The concerns regarding pervasive uncleanliness, pest infestations, safety vulnerabilities, unprofessional staff conduct, and unsanitary food service are severe and widespread. Therefore, while it may offer a low price point, the quality of the stay, comfort, and safety appear to be significantly compromised. Prospective guests are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and consider alternatives if their priorities include cleanliness, safety, and a comfortable environment.

Apr 23, 2025 · Samantha BennettIf I could rate this place a zero I would but to preference this I and my hubby and my daughter are here cause we have fallen our hard times and we’re here until we can get back on our feet and get into a better situation. This hotel is nasty. It reeks of weed, alcohol, cigarettes, and what smells like crack all the time They never clean. The rooms are nasty wear shoes because if you don’t your feet are gonna be black cause they never clean the bedrooms. I think the only thing they do when people check out is remake the bed. The floors are nasty. The bathroom is always nasty. The place is infected with cockroaches and ants and bugs. The lobby is absolutely horrendous. Breakfast is only waffles yogurt and coffee. The coffee machine is broken the lady that’s does breakfast always has a shitty attitude and takes it out on everybody and she doesn’t even do her job correctly or right or even at all because she’s always complaining. I don’t think they clean at all because the last couple times we had breakfast we found hairs in our waffles so I don’t think they clean the waffle machine or any machine. I really don’t understand how this place is open because it is so dirty. Some of the room doors are broken the latch to lock it is broken or off hinges so you can’t lock the door properly so stay clear away from this place if you can. housekeeping will barge in even if you have deadbolt on and then say sorry they know exactly what they’re doing Even if it’s not even your checkout date, they have done it to us multiple times last time they did it. I was indecent because I just got out of the shower. I was not pleased. I called down to the front desk to tell them what happened and they brushed it off claiming that they would talk to the housekeeping I don’t think they ever did
Apr 17, 2025 · Ana HalliganMy experience here to say the least was nothing higher than terrible. We got there I had originally booked through booking.com but the guy at the hotel told me that booking only sent him half the payment for two night so we had to pay for a second night. We got in the room mind you, WITH A CHILD, and there was a bed bug in our bed, so we all ran back downstairs and at that point we just didn’t even wanna stay anymore. Switching rooms wasn’t an option in our book. We just wanted to leave so I went down there to atleast get the refund back on my card and then I would call booking for the other portion. He told me it was all set and refunded within 7 days. It’s now almost been 2 weeks and I haven’t received a payment and they have been nothing short of absolutely terrible on the phone. DO NOT STAY HERE. Please save yourself any trouble and just stay far away from this hotel. It’s not safe. There’s people on drugs literally everywhere and it’s no place for a child and any adult for that matter. It’s not healthy. This is my first ever review on literally anything and this deserves to be seen by everyone. (I wouldn’t even give them your card info) I do believe I was scammed into giving them more money because like I said I booked two nights through booking.com and he stated that they only sent him one half of the payment for one night and booking.com has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.
Mar 06, 2025 · Alyssa Walsh-PiwowarskiBreakfast good , rooms are very good and nice. Got a peaceful stay. Everything was perfect and worth every penny we spent. Staff and very friendly and helpful. Want to special mention “Raj” he was nice and helpful no matter at what time we need help. Great suggestion!!!!
Apr 29, 2025 · Cesar CalixTook a road trip with a 16 month old toddler & we needed to find a place to take a break overnight. This hotel was easy to get to off the highway. The parking was nice & simple too. You definitely get what you pay for with this place & I think I was lucky compared to other reviewers. No bugs, clean room, seemed safe. The entire 3rd floor WREACKED of cigarettes. The walls & windows were also paper thin. The cheap flooring was peeling up in the halls. The elevator was nasty & had broken lights, but it didn't sound bad or feel weird. The staff was friendly, I talked to both a male & female. I see reviews of stealing the deposit, so if I don't get my $50 back then I'll update this review. I took pictures of how I left the room in case they claimed I was a terrible guest. They didn't try to make up a story of unfinished payments either. The breakfast was... well it was there. Limited options & crusty counters/floors. I definitely will NOT being going back here whenever I'm passing the area again. I can't get lucky twice with this place.
