To start I am currently driving cross country with my partner and service dog, I book in advance pet friendly hotels because I unfortunately have experience issues with hotels that are not pet friendly and people having brought fake service dogs to those hotels giving me issues. We arrive at the hotel I go inside to grab the room key for the room we booked online well he was driving to it. We booked a smoking king size bed I go up to the receptionist with the confirmation number, the receptionist was very rude after asking for my id and card, well holding my card and id he's says you booked a smoking room we have a not the king size room I said no I just want the room I booked I know it's smoking my partner vapes, processed to call me a stupid white person for not telling him, the list that vaping is not allowed in the smoking room only cigarettes, CBD is not allowed to be used in the room only Cigarettes, my partner and I don't use it not for medical or recreational use, my partner was holding the prescription for the before mentioned service because I see they have gone from AS ADVERTISED pet friendly to no pets and then wants a one of the Amazon not Official here is a service dog id, I responded with why do I need one of those with the prescription and well behaving dog with me. I have attached several photos of the dirty and damaged room we received for other to be informed.

Quality Inn & Suites Introduce

For individuals in Meriden, Connecticut, or those planning a visit to the area and actively seeking accommodations via the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, the Quality Inn & Suites located at 2090 N Broad St, Meriden, CT 06450, USA, may appear as a listed option. This hotel, reachable at (203) 427-6007 or +1 203-427-6007, aims to cater to various travelers. The "Hotels Near Of Me" category is designed to help local users identify nearby lodging options that might fulfill immediate or planned accommodation needs. In this context, the Quality Inn & Suites Meriden positions itself as a readily accessible choice within the local market.

When considering any hotel, particularly through a search like "Hotels Near Of Me," potential guests typically evaluate the environment, services, features, and any promotional offers. To provide an objective introduction to the Quality Inn & Suites Meriden, we must synthesize information from general hotel offerings with direct customer experiences, which, in this case, present a cautionary narrative.

From a general perspective, Quality Inn & Suites is a well-known brand, often associated with providing essential amenities at a value-oriented price point. These typically include comfortable rooms, basic guest services, and sometimes complimentary breakfast or Wi-Fi. However, the specific experiences reported by recent guests at this Meriden location reveal a significant divergence from these general brand expectations.

Regarding the environment, the location on North Broad Street suggests accessibility, likely near local businesses or routes, which can be convenient for travelers. However, the internal environment, as described by guests, raises substantial concerns. One reviewer highlighted "dirty and damaged room" conditions, providing photographic evidence to support their claim. Another guest reported peeling wallpaper, a distinct unpleasant smell, and an overall lack of cleanliness in their room. These accounts suggest that the hotel's internal environment might not consistently meet basic standards of hygiene and maintenance, which are fundamental for a comfortable stay.

Moving on to services, the discrepancies between advertised features and actual delivery are prominent. A key service often promoted by hotels in this category is complimentary breakfast. One customer explicitly stated that the hotel "advertised complimentary breakfast, but to my disappointment, they didn't actually offer breakfast." When this issue was raised at the front desk, the response was described as "unhelpful and rude," indicating a significant lapse in expected guest service. This is a critical point for travelers who factor in breakfast as part of their booking decision, and its absence, coupled with poor communication, can lead to dissatisfaction.

The aspect of customer service appears to be a consistent point of contention. Multiple reviews describe the staff as "rude and unwelcoming." One particularly detailed account outlines a confrontational check-in experience. A guest, traveling with a service dog and having booked a smoking king-size bed room, encountered a receptionist who was described as "very rude." The guest reported being verbally abused and called "a stupid white person" for not disclosing information about vaping, despite booking a smoking room. Furthermore, the receptionist allegedly made contentious claims about allowed substances in smoking rooms (only cigarettes, no vaping or CBD), and questioned the legitimacy of the service dog, demanding an "Amazon not Official here is a service dog id" despite the guest having a prescription and a well-behaved animal. This level of alleged disrespect and unhelpfulness from the front desk staff is highly problematic and can severely tarnish a guest's experience, overshadowing any potential positive aspects of the stay.

In terms of features, the rooms themselves, beyond cleanliness, seem to suffer from maintenance issues. A broken box spring on a bed, with no action taken to fix it, was a notable complaint. Old, damaged, and unclean rooms directly contradict the expectation of a comfortable stay. The specific booking of a "smoking king size bed" room, which then reportedly led to a dispute over allowed activities within that room type, suggests confusion or inconsistency in hotel policy communication and enforcement. The hotel's advertised "pet-friendly" status was also challenged by a guest, who noted a perceived shift to "no pets" and an unreasonable demand for unofficial service dog identification, contradicting ADA guidelines regarding service animals.

From a promotional standpoint, while the Quality Inn & Suites brand generally promotes affordability and convenience, the user reviews severely undermine any positive promotional messages. The customer experience suggests that the reality might not align with typical brand promises. Guests looking for a straightforward, hassle-free stay with basic amenities and respectful service would find these reviews concerning. The repeated advice to "highly recommend looking at reviews before booking here" serves as a direct warning, effectively advising potential guests to exercise extreme caution.

In summary, for local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" and encountering the Quality Inn & Suites at 2090 N Broad St, Meriden, CT, it is crucial to proceed with caution based on available customer feedback. While the hotel's brand might suggest certain standards and amenities, the reported experiences indicate significant issues with cleanliness, room maintenance, the absence of advertised services like complimentary breakfast, and, most critically, highly unsatisfactory guest service. The hotel's accessibility and brand recognition may draw interest, but the consistent negative reviews regarding staff conduct and room conditions paint a picture that is far from the ideal hospitable environment. Potential guests are strongly advised to consider these detailed accounts before making a booking decision, as the objective information available suggests that this particular Quality Inn & Suites may not meet common expectations for a comfortable and pleasant hotel stay.

I recently stayed at a hotel that advertised complimentary breakfast, but to my disappointment, they didn't actually offer breakfast. When I inquired about it at the front desk, I was met with an unhelpful and rude response. Additionally, the box spring of my bed was broken and nothing was done to fix it. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off and the overall cleanliness of the room was lacking. There was also a distinct smell in the room that was unpleasant. I booked this hotel without doing a thorough search and regretted it. I booked two rooms for myself and family members for Thanksgiving and it was not a pleasant experience. I highly recommend looking at reviews before booking here. The guest services were bare minimum and the staff was rude and unwelcoming. Best of luck if you decide to stay here.

I wish I could give this place a less than 1 star review! The Comfort Inn we usually stay at in Meriden was full so the rep asked if we would like to stay at this Quality Inn sister hotel instead. The lobby should have been my first clue that this was going to be a big mistake. It was dirty, run down, and smelled like smoke. We checked in and made our way upstairs and down a dirty hallway to an even dirtier room, which was supposed to be a "suite." The wall paper was peeling off the walls in the bathroom, and there was mold in there, the carpets and furniture were stained, and I can't even describe how filthy the mattress was on the pullout couch. I quickly called around and found another room in the area and we left immediately! The place looked like a crack house and smelled like cigarettes and pot. It's also in a shady part of town. The ice machines were broken and there was no continental breakfast, that was advertised. Choice hotels needs to investigate this place and shut it down!

Spent a few nights here and all was mostly fine. This is a no frills place, but fine for a short stay. Front desk staff always took a sec but did respond to the bell they have there, eventually. The room had a bit of a smell, but most hotel rooms in this price range do. Good water pressure, but it didn't get hot enough for my preference. Room was clean, well appointed with coffee, fridge, microwave. TV was a bit small, but did the job. They do NOT do breakfast here. Either post Covid, or just to save cost. I didn't see any other amenities they may have, so can't comment. Overall, at this price point, I would stay here again.

This Quality Inn location is anything but. Poor service, with staff disappearing from the front desk for extended periods of time. A couple times during our stay, after asking if we needed anything, staff downright refused requests for additional towels and blankets. Whole dining room with signage for complimentary breakfast but none was served. Rooms are very poorly maintained.
