So let me start off saying that I know this isn’t a top tier hotel and definitely will never be. But it should at least be up to like 3 star quality. WiFi does not work whatsoever, and the staff will say they are “resetting” the modem for you but never actually do. Staff is not friendly whatsoever. Rooms are super dirty and have some of the oldest technology I’ve ever seen. I’d only recommend if you’ve got kids and are coming to swim and need the absolute cheapest place to stay. Otherwise I’d steer clear of this place. This place is like the carnival cruises of hotels.

Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Batavia, NY area, particularly families seeking a stay with aquatic entertainment, the Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark is a prominent option. Located at 8250 Park Rd, Batavia, NY 14020, USA, this hotel is known for its integrated indoor waterpark. You can contact them directly at (585) 250-0283 or via mobile at +1 585-250-0283 for reservations or inquiries.

Environment and General Impression

The Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark presents a very mixed impression, as reflected in customer reviews. While it aims to be a family-friendly destination, especially with the waterpark, a significant portion of feedback points to a property that is "extremely rundown" and in poor condition. Terms like "scary," "super dirty," and having "some of the oldest technology" are frequently used. There are serious concerns regarding cleanliness, with reports of "cockroaches" and generally unkempt rooms. The overall atmosphere can be off-putting for some guests, with one review mentioning witnessing a "drug deal in the parking lot." This suggests a challenging environment that might not be suitable for all travelers, especially families prioritizing safety and pristine conditions. It's important to note that while the waterpark itself is a major draw, the hotel portion of the experience often falls short of expectations for a typical hotel stay.

Room Features and Conditions

Guest rooms at Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark typically offer basic amenities such as air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer. For convenience, rooms are equipped with a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker with free coffee. Entertainment is usually provided via a TV with premium channels. However, the condition of these rooms is a recurring negative point in customer reviews. Guests frequently report "super dirty" rooms, "heavily stained" carpets and bedspreads, and even "mold and mildew." The "oldest technology" observation implies dated fixtures and appliances. There are also reports of vital safety features like smoke detectors being removed, and broken ventilation fans. While some sources indicate features like premium bedding, these are often overshadowed by the pervasive cleanliness issues. The provided information about room size generally suggests standard dimensions.

Services and Staff

The staff at Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark receives varied feedback. While some reviews describe staff as "not friendly whatsoever," other comments acknowledge that the staff was "understanding and rectified the situation," particularly in severe cases like finding a cockroach. This indicates some level of responsiveness, even if general customer service might be inconsistent. The hotel typically offers a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that assistance is available at all times. Other services usually include:

  • Complimentary Breakfast: A free continental breakfast is advertised. However, reviews do not consistently praise its quality or availability, with some implying it might be "below average" or that the hotel "needs upgrade" in this area.
  • Free Wi-Fi: While advertised, multiple reviews explicitly state that "WiFi does not work whatsoever," and that staff claims of "resetting the modem" don't lead to resolution. This is a significant point of concern for guests relying on internet access.
  • Laundry Facilities: Self-serve laundry facilities are generally available for guest use.
  • Business Center: The hotel provides a business center with a public computer, internet access, and copy/fax services, along with meeting and banquet rooms.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel generally allows pets, although fees apply (e.g., $20 per accommodation, per night). Service animals are exempt.
Features and Amenities

The main distinguishing feature of Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark is, as its name suggests, the Palm Island Indoor Waterpark. This attraction includes:

  • Paradise Plunge and Crazy Cobra: Two 24-foot tall body slides that loop outside the building before returning indoors.
  • Monsoon Lagoon: A children's play area with smaller slides, an activity pool, and dumping buckets.
  • Swim Lagoon: A versatile area featuring a basketball hoop, a cascading waterfall, and an underwater lighted hot tub.
  • Arcade/Game Room: Offering additional entertainment options.

It is crucial to note that "Admission to the indoor park is not included in any rates except a water park package." Guests must factor in this additional cost if the waterpark is their primary reason for staying. Other general hotel amenities include:

  • Free Self-Parking: Ample parking is provided on-site, including space for RVs, buses, and trucks. An electric car charging station is also available.
  • Fitness Center: A gym is usually available, though one review reported it as "closed."
  • Restaurant and Bar/Lounge: The hotel has on-site dining options, including Belgustos Restaurant and Chasers Lounge. However, one review mentioned the "Restaurant was closed," indicating potential inconsistency.
  • Vending Machines: Available for snacks and drinks.
Promotional Information and Location Context

Quality Inn & Suites Palm Island Indoor Waterpark's primary promotional angle is its integrated indoor waterpark, positioning it as a family-friendly destination for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Batavia area. Its location at 8250 Park Rd, Batavia, NY 14020, places it conveniently near several local attractions:

  • Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel: Less than one mile away, offering gaming and entertainment. Some sources even mention a free shuttle service to the casino.
  • Darien Lake Theme Park Resort: Within a reasonable driving distance, making the hotel a potential option for visitors to the larger amusement park.
  • Holland Land Office Museum and Jell-O Gallery Museum: Local cultural and historical sites.

The hotel aims to provide a budget-friendly option, especially for families looking for a place to stay while enjoying the waterpark. However, based on extensive customer feedback, prospective guests should carefully manage their expectations regarding the hotel's overall condition and service quality outside of the waterpark experience. The explicit negative reviews about cleanliness, safety concerns, and unreliable amenities like Wi-Fi are critical factors to consider. While the concept of an on-site waterpark is appealing, the general state of the hotel may significantly detract from the overall guest satisfaction. It is advisable to contact the hotel directly at (585) 250-0283 or +1 585-250-0283 to inquire about the current operational status of all amenities and to verify cleanliness protocols before booking.

trust your gut!! my family booked online and upon arrival i thought we must be at the wrong place… it’s nothing like the photos online. extremely rundown, and quite frankly scary. we witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot while unloading our bags from the car. and when we got to our room, we had to turn right around and leave because there was a cockroach right on the wall. NOT family friendly and not safe for kids. we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. only positive was that the staff was understanding and rectified the situation.

UPDATE I was contacted thru email by the hotel GM after I posted my review several places. The GM did refund the credit card charge and stated that the property would be undergoing renovations. I do appreciate them reaching out and processing a refund. Hopefully the place greatly improves in the near future. Choice Hotels should shut this Quality inn down, or at least take their branding off of it. Believe the reviews when they say the rooms have bugs. Also believe the reviews that say this place is unsafe. Doors to the desolate parking lot next to the highway do not even close completely, let alone lock. Homeless store their shopping carts in the stairwells and sleep In the dilapidated banquet rooms. I left shortly after I checked in due to the conditions here and the front desk told me I would not be charged and gave me a receipt showing such. But the next day on my choice hotels app I get a new receipt from the gm, charging me for a room I did not use. They refuse to refund my $88.80. Choice hotels did give me a few meaningless points on my account, but it’s the principle of things. I shouldn’t have to pay for Crappy product that I did not use. The door handle on my room just flipped around and you had to find the right “mark” to make it open the door. The health department should investigate this place. Maybe the water park is great, but if it is cared for like the hotel, I’d make sure I had my kids tetanus up to date.

Okay so the place is nice when u walk in the waterpark is nice to the problem is the two first elavators are broken so we had to walk all thw way done the hall. The elavators take so long to but when we got to our floor it was a mess it smelled like ciggerets and there were baby stuff everywhere so we went to our room and they gave me the wrong room so i had to go back down. In the water park my kids told me the lifeguards arent even paying attention and they dont care of anything only if your hurt. Do not recommend 4/10

The hotel is old and everything is dirty. The room smells awful and is filthy. The walls and ceiling are stained. The smoke detector was removed, and the bathroom ventilation fan was also missing—just a hole with disconnected wires. Probably because of that, the moldy smell is terrible. The whole place just reeks. When I checked in past 11 PM, there was someone yelling at the entrance—possibly drunk or on drugs. The atmosphere in the lobby was eerie, with no furniture at all. It felt like everything had been repossessed after a bankruptcy. It honestly felt like staying in an abandoned building. The elevator next to the lobby was also broken and unusable. Absolutely the worst. This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the U.S.
