I see some older reviews that are pretty misleading. I say that because most all are from a different owner/mgr. Ranger Inn has a new manager(Keith) that has removed the bad elements/people! He is always available on site to work out any issues. Keith has not only made this place a safe and quiet place to stay but is overseeing renovations and installation of security equipment, example: camera's in all common areas and sidewalks. So if you're looking for a place for a week or a year the Ranger Inn is now safe and affordable! Most of the time there's a waiting list so do not hesitate to give them a call.✌️

Previously, the inn may have faced challenges, but current reviews highlight a proactive effort to create a "safe and quiet place to stay." This has involved the removal of "bad elements/people," indicating a strong commitment to fostering a secure and respectful community within the inn. The strategic location on Hammond Street provides easy access to major thoroughfares in Bangor, connecting guests to various parts of the city and beyond. While the exterior, particularly the parking lot, could benefit from repaving, this minor detail does not detract from the substantial improvements in the internal environment and safety protocols. The ongoing renovations signal a dedication to modernizing the facilities and enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the property. The installation of "security equipment, example: camera's in all common areas and sidewalks" significantly bolsters the sense of security, providing peace of mind for guests staying for extended periods. This focus on a safe and improved living environment makes the Ranger Inn a more appealing and reliable choice for long-term residents and transient guests alike. Its position on Hammond Street also means relatively easy access to local conveniences, dining options, and transportation links within Bangor.

Services: Accessible Management and Commitment to Guest Issues

The services at Ranger Inn are largely defined by the hands-on approach and availability of its new manager, Keith. Reviews consistently praise him for being "always available on site to work out any issues," which is a crucial aspect for extended stay properties where guests might encounter more day-to-day needs or concerns. This direct line of communication and immediate responsiveness are invaluable. The inn provides essential amenities for comfortable living, particularly for longer durations. While the detailed scope of "efficiencies" (which often include kitchenettes) is mentioned in general information, providing a space for basic cooking, this is a significant feature for extended stays. The inn offers complimentary coffee and continental breakfast, which are appreciated conveniences for guests. Rooms are equipped with TVs, telephones, and free WiFi, ensuring connectivity and entertainment. Individual AC and heating units allow guests to control their room climate. Free use of copy and fax machines is also available. The commitment to a safe and quiet environment is a continuous service, actively managed by the on-site team. Free parking for all types of vehicles and buses is available, adding convenience for guests with personal vehicles. The overall sentiment is that the staff is dedicated to ensuring a positive experience, addressing concerns promptly and striving to create a welcoming atmosphere for all residents.

Features: Renovated Rooms, Security Enhancements, and Affordability

The Ranger Inn boasts several key features that make it an attractive option for extended stays. A primary feature, and a significant improvement, is the ongoing "renovations." This indicates a commitment to updating and modernizing the rooms and common areas, aiming to provide a more comfortable and contemporary living space. Guests can expect "comfortable and clean" rooms, which is a fundamental requirement for any extended stay property. The mention of "efficiencies" suggests that some rooms are equipped with kitchenettes, providing the convenience of in-room meal preparation, a highly desirable feature for guests staying for a week or even a year. The installation of "security equipment, example: camera's in all common areas and sidewalks" is a crucial safety feature, addressing past concerns and ensuring a secure environment for all residents. This proactive approach to security is a testament to the new management's dedication. From a value perspective, the Ranger Inn is noted as "affordable," making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and those seeking long-term accommodation without prohibitive costs. The property has 90 rooms, including these efficiencies, suggesting a good capacity. While one older review mentions a need for parking lot repaving, the focus of more recent feedback is on the internal improvements and the tangible efforts to enhance safety and comfort, showcasing a positive shift in the hotel's features.

Promotional Information: Safe, Affordable, and In-Demand

The promotional message for the Ranger Inn is strongly driven by its recent transformation and the resulting positive changes. The primary selling points, as articulated by satisfied customers, are its newfound safety and affordability. The direct mention of the new manager, Keith, and his proactive efforts to remove "bad elements/people" and install security equipment serves as a powerful endorsement, directly addressing and mitigating past negative perceptions. This emphasizes that the Ranger Inn is now a "safe and quiet place to stay," appealing to a broad range of individuals, including those who prioritize security. The phrase "if you're looking for a place for a week or a year the Ranger Inn is now safe and affordable!" clearly defines its target audience for extended stays, highlighting its suitability for both short-term weekly rentals and long-term yearly accommodations. The fact that "Most of the time there's a waiting list" is a highly effective piece of promotional information. It communicates high demand and desirability, subtly urging potential guests to "not hesitate to give them a call." This implies that the positive changes have resonated well with the local community, making the inn a sought-after place to live. While not explicitly stated, the presence of complimentary coffee and continental breakfast, free WiFi, and the availability of laundry facilities would also be part of their promotional efforts. The overall promotional strategy is to showcase the inn's renewed commitment to guest well-being, comfort, and value, positioning it as a highly recommended and reliable option for extended stays in Bangor, Maine.

Place could really use a repaved parking lot

The room, oh boy!!! I had to literally scrub the entire bathroom before I could even shower because the scumn was so thick. I go to brush my teeth, and water won't drain because it's stuffed right full of cigarette butts and whatever else, then I notice all of a sudden my soaks are wet. I looked down to the floor to see the water pissing out out of the u shape is, and obviously somebody knows about the issue because they have taken white tape and electrical tape and wrapped it around the pipe instead of replacing it . Keith, the manager, is very friendly along with maintenance personnel as well.

I've lived here for almost 2 years so I can tell you the neighbors are nice. Mostly quiet people and a few young families. Over all it is a decent little place. They do a good job of keeping the riffraff out no drugs or illegal activities. Most people keep to themselves but are friendly. They rent biweekly or monthly.

While moving back Maine, and looking for an apartment, I was able to find a room at the Ranger Inn, with a reasonable weekly rate on August 5th, 2016, during the height of the tourist season. The Managers were GREAT, but the other guests were from homeless shelters & jails due to lower monthly/weekly rates. The Managers were aware of these types of renters, and kept a careful watch on them. A good place to stay in a pinch, when all hotels are full, and have raised there prices amid tourist season, but keep an eye on the White/Mullato Trash who stay there.
