My friend and I stayed in the Miss Elizabeth/Walter Bearden suite in mid October. We were within very close walking distance of the Arts and Crafts Fair, fine dining, and downtown - all while being tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The innkeeper, Scott, was the very soul of hospitality and helpfulness. We enjoyed our stay in this restored, antique filled, charming, and comfortable B & B. I definitely give it a high recommendation, AND the beds were very comfortable!

Hello, North Carolinians! When the allure of Asheville's vibrant arts, stunning mountain vistas, and delectable dining calls, finding the perfect place to stay can truly elevate your experience. While our state offers a wide range of accommodations, sometimes the most memorable stays are found in places with unique character, personalized service, and a true sense of home. Rankin House Inn in Asheville is one such gem, offering a charming Bed & Breakfast experience that goes beyond a typical hotel stay. This article will provide you with a detailed look at what makes Rankin House Inn a highly recommended choice for your next visit to our beloved mountain city.

Rankin House Inn is not just a hotel; it's a restored, antique-filled, charming, and comfortable Bed & Breakfast that promises a "homelike atmosphere" and a personal touch. Guests consistently describe it as a "lovely" place where they felt "pampered, well-fed, and welcomed." Unlike larger, more impersonal establishments, Rankin House Inn focuses on delivering exceptional hospitality, often highlighted by the innkeepers themselves. It's a place where you can unwind in a cozy, intimate setting, surrounded by history and thoughtful details. The emphasis here is on creating a memorable stay through attentive service, delicious homemade meals, and a tranquil environment, all while being remarkably close to Asheville's most cherished attractions. It's an ideal choice for those who appreciate the charm of a historic property combined with modern comforts, and who seek a more personal connection during their travels through Western North Carolina.

Location and Accessibility

Rankin House Inn is perfectly situated at 32 Elizabeth Pl, Asheville, NC 28801, USA. This address places it in an enviable spot within Asheville, offering guests the best of both worlds: a "quiet neighborhood" setting combined with incredibly convenient access to the city's bustling downtown core. For North Carolina residents planning a visit, reaching Asheville is typically straightforward via major interstates such as I-40 and I-26, and once in the city, Elizabeth Place is easily accessible.

The Inn's location truly "can't be beat" for exploring Asheville on foot. Guests rave about being "within very close walking distance of the Arts and Crafts Fair, fine dining, and downtown." This means you can easily stroll to Asheville's vibrant culinary scene, explore unique boutiques and art galleries, visit the Basilica of Saint Lawrence, or catch a show without the need for a car or worrying about parking. Popular attractions like the Asheville Pinball Museum are just a short walk away. While the Inn is tucked away in a quiet residential area, providing a peaceful retreat, it remains exceptionally accessible to all that Asheville has to offer. For those who choose to drive, while the property itself may not have extensive parking listed, its central location near downtown garages (like the Wall Street Garage or Rankin Avenue Garage) provides public parking options within reasonable walking distance. This combination of peaceful seclusion and urban accessibility makes Rankin House Inn an ideal base for experiencing the charm of Asheville.

By far, one of the best mini-vacations ever! The Rankin House Inn was lovely, and Scott and Sherod were so accomodating and friendly! My childhood friend and I felt pampered, well-fed and welcomed by Scott, who, by the way, is an excellent cook! His blueberry pancakes (with the secret ingredient), cheesy grits and "toad in the hole" were favorites, and sent us on our way each morning! Very comfortable room, complete access to the kitchen and it's ammenities and a big, beautiful front porch to relax on. Besides the charm of the Inn, it's location really can't be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed all that Asheville has to offer, and I will definitely be back to stay at the Rankin House Inn! Thank you for everything!

Rankin House is great! Fred the host, is a wealth of information and very friendly. He goes out of his way to make your stay really wonderful by providing snacks and drinks in a help yourself way kind of way. Loved it. Only bummer was sharing a bathroom, but it was the room we chose, so if you are uncomfortable with this, then make sure you have your own!

The Rankin House Inn gets five stars in all categories, ambience, breakfast, cleanliness, inn keepers and quiet spacious rooms. My wife and I think that it has the best location to downtown out of all of the B&Bs we know of. Walking took us just five minutes to shops and restaurants and another five or so minutes to the center of town. We will definitely be back!

Had a great weekend stay for a wedding. We had a large group and took the entire house for the weekend. The lady that checked us in and showed us around was awesome. Within walking distance to downtown. Definitely recommend.
