The Red Carpet Inn Louisville, KY is situated in the Jeffersontown area, just off I-64. This location offers convenient access to several points of interest, though travel times can vary depending on traffic. It is approximately 10.8 miles (17.4 km) from the KFC Yum! Center and 13.2 miles (21.2 km) from Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Exposition Center and Louisville Zoo are typically within a 15-minute drive. For business travelers, the hotel is located about 1 mile from the Bluegrass Industrial Park and is near other corporate entities like GE Appliance Park. The hotel's proximity to I-64 also makes it a viable stop for those traveling long distances. Notably, the property offers ample truck and RV parking, a significant advantage for professional drivers. The hotel has 171 rooms spread across two floors and was built in 1972.
The environment of the Red Carpet Inn is characteristic of a budget motel. While some sources describe it as having "simple rooms" in a "functional budget hotel," customer reviews provide a starkly contrasting picture regarding cleanliness and overall ambiance. Positive feedback suggests a "cool place" with a focus on meeting guests' needs, providing "peace" during hard times. However, highly negative reviews describe the place as "nasty," smelling "horrible," with windows having "boards on them," and feeling "unsafe." This indicates significant variability in the condition of the rooms and the overall guest experience. The exterior features include barbecue grills and a picnic area, offering outdoor spaces for guest use. The property is designed to be accessible, with some wheelchair-accessible features, though upper floors are accessible by stairs only.
In terms of services and amenities, the Red Carpet Inn provides basic offerings often found in budget accommodations. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas, ensuring guests can stay connected. A complimentary continental breakfast is mentioned by some sources, though specific customer reviews contradict this, stating "there was nothing such thing" as continental breakfast, suggesting this amenity might be inconsistent or no longer offered. It's advisable to confirm breakfast availability directly with the hotel. Guest rooms typically include cable TV with premium movie channels, air conditioning, a desk, and a seating area. Some rooms may have a refrigerator and microwave, though availability can be limited or subject to an additional fee.
Other services include a 24-hour front desk, offering around-the-clock assistance. Laundry facilities (coin laundry) are available on-site for guest convenience. There are vending machines for drinks and snacks, and a shared microwave is also accessible. Pets are generally allowed at the Red Carpet Inn upon request, though a daily fee (e.g., $10 per pet per day) may apply, and service animals are exempt from fees. The hotel also offers free self-parking and free RV/bus/truck parking, which is a major draw for commercial drivers. While some sources mention an indoor pool or a game room, this information appears to be inconsistent across various listings for this specific Red Carpet Inn in Louisville, and may be a reference to a different Red Carpet Inn property. Based on more common and recent information, these amenities might not be reliably available at this location.
The features of the guest rooms are generally described as simple and functional. Each of the 171 rooms includes an LCD television with cable programming. Private bathrooms come with a shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer (available on request). Housekeeping is reportedly provided daily. Despite these stated features, customer reviews heavily critique the actual condition of the rooms. Common complaints include extreme dustiness, unpleasant odors ("smelled horrible," "strong odor from the carpet," "smelled like cigarettes and cats and dogs"), signs of disrepair ("windows had boards on them," "carpet was coming up in different places," "holes in walls," "paint falling off walls," "sheetrock falling apart"), and concerns about cleanliness ("filthy," "dirty," "bed sheets did not appear so clean," "bed sheets having holes with burn cigarettes"). Some reviews even mention feeling unsafe or encountering "very shady guest." Conversely, a few positive reviews highlight "comfortable beds" and "clean" rooms, indicating a highly variable guest experience.
Promotional information typically emphasizes the Red Carpet Inn's affordable rates. They may offer AARP discounts and an "INNcentive Instant Rewards" program. Being a budget hotel, the primary promotional draw is often the low price point. However, given the widely disparate customer reviews regarding quality and safety, prospective guests should exercise significant caution. It's advisable to call ahead to confirm current conditions, specific room amenities (like refrigerators and microwaves), and any ongoing renovation impacts. The hotel states that it requires a cash damage deposit of $25 on arrival, which is reimbursed on check-out, and guests under 18 can only check in with a parent or guardian.
In conclusion, the Red Carpet Inn Louisville, KY positions itself as a basic, budget-friendly accommodation near major Louisville attractions and business areas, with the added benefit of truck parking. While some guests have reported positive interactions with staff and satisfaction with the overall value, a substantial number of reviews raise serious concerns regarding cleanliness, room condition, amenities (like breakfast), and overall safety. Travelers searching for "Hotels Near Me" who prioritize minimal cost might consider this option, but it is imperative to set realistic expectations and be prepared for potential inconsistencies in room quality and comfort based on the highly varied feedback from past guests.

Mar 24, 2025 · Cory WilliamsPulled into town looking for a clean place to stay. Was charged 62.50 for a room. I went up to the room the windows had boards on them. The place was nasty and it smelled horrible… after realizing this place was a not a good fit for me I immediately went downstairs and asked for my money back. (I had been on the property probably 15 minutes) the guy said no… I just want a place that doesn’t have boards and tape securing the room. I did not feel like that was an unreasonable request. lol. Horrible experience.
Mar 20, 2025 · Joseph CaponettoI wouldn't give this place a single star. Worst hotel motel experience ever in my 30 years. My husband literally picked a bed bug off his arm. Well we did and we got ate up by bed bugs. My husband literally threw one off his arm. And why the hell would I want to spend $77 on a room and not stay in the room for not even 2 hours. If I would have gotten my money back I wouldn't have left a bad review... Yall all about cleanliness but there was a cup and straws laying all in the floor in my room that I just paid for I'll let that go but bed bugs really? I know it's not your fault thet yall have bed bugs but you can at least close down the room and take care of the problem you are nasty

May 08, 2025 · CreeI really did not like staying here. I asked for a non smoking room and my whole room made me gag. The smell was so bad. The area was really run down and did not feel safe. There were all sorts of burn marks and stains on the carpet, but it was the smell that really got me.
