We travel with our 2 cats and 1 small dog. We found this pet friendly hotel a year ago, and it is now our stop on the way home from family visits in FL. There are several short term residents. Location is good, close to the highway, and some great restaurants and food trucks

Guests appreciate its proximity to the highway, as well as nearby restaurants and food trucks, ensuring dining options are readily available. It's also close to significant businesses like GE Appliance Park and the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, making it a viable option for business travelers on extended assignments.
Suburban Studios Louisville East aims to provide a functional and no-frills environment tailored for extended stays. The property is designed with simplicity and practicality in mind, focusing on the core needs of long-term guests. While it might not boast elaborate recreational facilities like a pool, its strength lies in offering a comfortable and self-sufficient living space. The rooms generally feature plank flooring instead of carpet, which many guests appreciate for cleanliness. The overall atmosphere is geared towards a quiet and safe stay, particularly noted by guests who have had positive experiences regarding the general safety and tranquility of the surroundings. The hotel has 76 rooms spread across 3 floors, and it is a non-smoking facility.
The property offers common areas for guests, including a lobby with a TV and vending machines. There's also a shared kitchen facility available, providing an alternative to in-room cooking for larger meal preparations. The hotel is known for having several short-term residents, contributing to a diverse guest base that includes individuals and families on longer trips.
The core philosophy of Suburban Studios Louisville East revolves around providing amenities that support an extended stay. Each guest room is designed with an apartment-style setup, notably featuring a full kitchen. This kitchen typically includes a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and stovetop, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and save on dining expenses. While some guest reviews have noted an initial absence of dishes, silverware, or cookware in the rooms upon check-in, the hotel generally advertises the availability of cookware, dishes, and utensils, suggesting this may be an oversight that can be rectified by contacting the front desk.
Beyond the in-room kitchen, the hotel offers several other crucial services:
In-room comforts extend to air conditioning, a desk for work, and 32-inch flat-screen TVs with premium cable channels. Private bathrooms include a shower/bathtub combination and free toiletries. While hair dryers are typically available on request, towels are generally provided. Housekeeping services are typically provided weekly for extended stays, with daily housekeeping available for an additional fee. Fresh towels and linen can usually be exchanged at the front desk at any time.
The Suburban Studios Louisville East's key features make it attractive for its target demographic:
While the hotel strives to provide a comfortable experience, guest reviews offer a mixed but generally helpful picture. Many guests praise the staff for being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The pet-friendly nature of the hotel is consistently highlighted as a major positive, making it a reliable stop for travelers with animals. The location, being close to the highway and various dining options, is also frequently lauded.
However, some reviews point to inconsistencies in room conditions and maintenance. Issues such as missing bath towels, unpleasant odors in rooms, clogged drains, malfunctioning door handles, and issues with appliances like TV remotes and microwaves have been reported. While the hotel aims to provide clean and stocked rooms, these individual experiences suggest that guests should be prepared to communicate any immediate concerns to the front desk for resolution. The hotel's emphasis on weekly housekeeping for longer stays, with options for fresh linen/towel exchange at the front desk, indicates a system in place to address cleaning needs, though individual room conditions upon check-in can vary.
For direct inquiries about current promotions, specific room availability, or to confirm details on amenities like kitchenware or housekeeping services, guests can contact Suburban Studios Louisville East directly at (502) 790-9697 or +1 502-790-9697. Nov 18, 2024 · Fred HoitashIn general, the rooms were clean and stocked. It was surprising the rooms didn't have any dishes, silverware, or cookware. Room 1: -No bath towels (had wash clothes and face towels) -Smelled really bad, and was on the ground floor, so opening the window for long periods wasn't an option. -Tub drain was full of hair. -Door handle wouldn't open by pushing down; had to pull up. -Fridge and freezer settings were set to their coldest. Room 2: -Fridge and freezer settings were set to their coldest. -TV remote didn't work. The batteries were good because the light flashed when a button was pushed, but it didn't interact with the TV in the room. -The toilet was "wobbly", enough to slosh water out of the tank sometimes. -Microwave turntable stopped from time to time.
Oct 07, 2024 · JoshI would never book here again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. I booked this place because it was cheap, had a kitchen, and allowed dogs. Since I was staying for a week and had my dog with me, I thought this would be perfect to save some money with the price and to be able to cook while I'm there instead of eating out everyday. However, the room had no pots, no pans, and no silverware. What's the point of having a kitchen in my hotel room if I have to bring all the cookware??? The room was nasty. There were ants in the room. There was some woman hair in the bathroom, and it's not mine as I am a man. The bathroom sink would not drain properly. The desk looks like it's about to break, and the so-called "breakfast" is just coffee. I told the person working the front desk, and they told me I should have said something and they would have switched my rooms. To me, that sounds like they were shifting the blame on me for my poor stay. I called the day I checked-in because I would be arriving earlier than check-in time. I wanted to verify if my room was available if I arrived early. I was assured that my room was ready. Once I saw the state of my "ready room", why would I expect any of the other rooms to be different??? I had an emergency and had to check out a day early. Could or would not give a refund or even a partial refund for the last night. OK, I guess as I originally was planning to stay that night anyways. However, when I asked about at least the pet charge being refunded for the night as it is charged per night the pet is there, I was told that the have to check with the manager, and it might not be refunded. I will call on Monday if I do not hear back from them. Update: I was called back and was refunded for my final night. I prefer if this was done beforehand when I was checking out, but I think it was done in response to my review. I appreciate that it was taken care of. I updated my review from 1 to 2 stars and updated the service from 1 to 3 as they did refund me. Please do better.

Aug 07, 2024 · Toni DixonGreat value for an extended stay without the normal nonsense you usually see at extended stays - especially when it comes to guests. It is quiet and the location is great. Staff is friendly and willing to accommodate. Much better than other Choice brand hotels I have stayed at.
