Wanted to get away for a few days. Hotel picking were slim due hurricane Matthews. Red Carpet was the next best. If I had to do it over I would keep driving. The room were smelly. The tub/shower needed to really be cleaned and I expressed myself to the front lady. There were dead bugs on the wall as WELL as other things. Not enough towel and pillows for the family and was told there were no more pillows. The booking person told me that the pool was open find out the pool had been close since July and this is mid October. Any place / hotel could be nice and decent if management could take time to clean and new linen and covers on the bed. Throw some fresh paint on the walls to off set that smoke smell. Clean the carpet deep clean at that. Just make the rooms look and feel like we are away. Even if you take one at a time. The rewards of a happy customer. ( I'm in the Environmental field so yes I know what clean REALLY is and this isn't it...)....
As North Carolina residents, we know that finding the right place to stay, whether for a quick getaway, a business trip, or when hosting out-of-town family, can make all the difference. Gastonia, a vibrant city in the Charlotte Metro area, offers a variety of lodging options. Among them is the Red Carpet Inn & Suites, a hotel that caters to travelers seeking a place to rest their heads while exploring what Gaston County has to offer.
Located on Broadcast Street, Red Carpet Inn & Suites is part of a larger network of inns and suites that aim to provide straightforward accommodation. For those familiar with the various hotel brands, it typically falls into the category of a budget-friendly option, focusing on essential services for travelers. This type of lodging is often chosen for its economical rates, especially when planning a trip where the hotel serves primarily as a place to sleep after a day of activities, rather than a destination in itself.
Gastonia itself is a city with a lot to explore. From outdoor adventures at Crowders Mountain State Park to educational experiences at The Schiele Museum of Natural History, or even just quick access to the larger Charlotte metropolitan area for attractions like the U.S. National Whitewater Center or Carowinds theme park, a well-located hotel can be a convenient base. The Red Carpet Inn & Suites aims to offer this accessibility, allowing guests to easily navigate the local area.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge that experiences at budget-friendly hotels can vary widely. Recent customer reviews, as provided, highlight significant concerns that prospective guests, particularly local North Carolinians who expect a certain standard, should be fully aware of before making a booking. These insights are vital for setting realistic expectations and deciding if this particular Red Carpet Inn & Suites aligns with your comfort and cleanliness preferences.
This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of the Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia, detailing its location, the services it typically offers, and the reality of guest experiences, to help you make an informed decision for your next stay in North Carolina.
The Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia is located at 1721 Broadcast St, Gastonia, NC 28052, USA. This address places it in a practical spot within Gastonia, offering decent accessibility for travelers, whether they are navigating the city or using it as a stopover point while traveling through North Carolina.
Broadcast Street itself is a local thoroughfare that connects to larger roads, allowing for relatively easy access to major highways such as I-85. This connectivity is a significant advantage for guests who are driving, providing straightforward routes to nearby attractions and cities. For instance, from this location, you can typically reach:
Furthermore, Gastonia serves as a western gateway to the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. From the Red Carpet Inn & Suites, visitors can access Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and popular Charlotte attractions like the Spectrum Center, Bank of America Stadium, or the NASCAR Hall of Fame, usually within a reasonable driving distance. The availability of free self-parking on-site is a valuable convenience, particularly for guests traveling by car.
The location on Broadcast Street generally means the hotel is situated in an area with a mix of commercial and light industrial properties, typical for motels of this kind. While it might not be in a picturesque, secluded spot, its practicality for road travelers and those needing access to Gastonia's amenities is a key aspect of its accessibility.
The Red Carpet Inn & Suites typically offers a basic set of services designed to provide essential comforts for travelers. While it aims to be a straightforward and economical lodging option, prospective guests should note that the actual delivery and quality of these services, particularly cleanliness, can be inconsistent as per customer reviews. Generally, you can expect the following:
It's important to cross-reference advertised services with recent guest feedback, as the actual availability and quality of services can vary. For instance, the lack of "enough towels and pillows" as reported by a guest, with no more available, points to potential operational limitations.
The Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia, as a budget-friendly accommodation, focuses on providing fundamental room features. While some highlights are intended to enhance the stay, recent customer feedback suggests significant inconsistencies in their condition and functionality. Here are some commonly advertised features and the associated realities based on reviews:
It is evident from customer reviews that major concerns exist regarding the condition of the rooms. Reports of "smelly" rooms, "dead bugs on the wall," "cracked and greasy" walls, "moldy and old" smells, and generally unsanitary conditions ("super disappointed with the condition and cleanliness") are significant drawbacks that heavily impact the guest experience. The inability to get "new linen and covers on the bed" or additional "pillows for the family" further points to issues with basic amenities. These cleanliness and maintenance problems appear to be major detractions from any advertised features.
As a budget-friendly hotel, Red Carpet Inn & Suites may offer various promotions or special rates, though these are typically found through online travel agencies (OTAs) or by calling the hotel directly. Given the property's branding, specific large-scale loyalty programs or extensive promotional campaigns might be less frequent compared to larger hotel chains. However, here are common types of offers that might be available:
It's important to approach any low prices with caution and to consider the context of customer reviews. While a low price might be appealing, the reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and the operational status of amenities like the pool (as described in reviews) suggest that potential savings might come at the expense of a comfortable or satisfactory stay. Therefore, it's advisable to thoroughly read recent reviews and perhaps contact the hotel directly to inquire about current conditions before relying solely on promotional pricing.
Should you wish to inquire about availability, make a reservation, or discuss any concerns regarding a potential stay at the Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia, you can reach them using the following contact details:
Given the significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding cleanliness, amenities, and customer service responsiveness (e.g., staff telling a guest there were "no more pillows"), it is highly recommended to communicate any specific needs or concerns clearly and directly with the hotel prior to booking. Asking about the current status of amenities like the pool, and requesting assurances regarding room cleanliness, would be prudent steps.
For residents across North Carolina, particularly those in the Gastonia area or traveling through the Charlotte Metro region, the choice of a hotel often comes down to balancing convenience, cost, and comfort. While Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia might appear on a list of available lodging options, its suitability for locals requires a frank assessment based on the provided customer feedback.
From a purely logistical standpoint, the hotel's location on Broadcast Street does offer accessibility. For locals who need a temporary place to stay during home renovations, or for those passing through Gastonia and needing an economical overnight stop, its proximity to major roads and local points of interest like Gastonia's downtown area or nearby state parks is a practical consideration. The availability of free self-parking is also a consistent positive, alleviating a common concern for travelers with vehicles.
However, the significant and recurring issues highlighted in customer reviews present a considerable challenge to recommending this property to local North Carolinians. Our community values cleanliness, reliable amenities, and professional service. The reports of "smelly" rooms, "dead bugs on the wall," "very dirty" bathrooms, non-flushing toilets, "moldy and old" smells, and a non-functional pool are serious concerns that fundamentally impact comfort and hygiene. As one reviewer, an "Environmental field" professional, stated, "this isn't it" when it comes to true cleanliness. The reported lack of available essential items like towels and pillows, and unsatisfactory responses from staff, also speak to potential operational challenges.
While the initial appeal might be a lower price point, the emotional and practical cost of an unsatisfactory stay, as evidenced by guests who would "keep driving" or "never go here again," could outweigh any monetary savings. For locals, who might be hosting family or simply seeking a comfortable and uneventful night away from home, these types of issues can turn a planned rest into a frustrating experience.
In conclusion, while Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Gastonia is geographically positioned for convenience, the overwhelming feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and service issues indicates it may not meet the expectations of many North Carolina residents for a comfortable and reliable stay. Locals are advised to carefully consider these factors and explore all available options to ensure their lodging choice aligns with their standards for a pleasant experience in our state.

Oct 20, 2016 · TutuHorible just horrible! This place didn't look safe at all. The bathrooms were VERY dirty. They had a half used toilet roll in the side of the toilet. And also the toilet NEVER flushed properly. The tv was also fuzzy and only had about 20 channels on it. The walls were cracked and greasy and inside smells moldy and old. I paid more than $300 for that CRAPPY hotel (worst experience) and I will never go here again and I hope nobody else does either!
Oct 07, 2016 · Shantelle MazyckCheck inn, got to the room and went back to check out. I never had an experience like that before. Lost my almost $50 of the night, but save $1,000s on medical bills. They are no words to describe the situation and I am not picky at all, just need a pillow and a bed and am good. But this .. Wow no words.
Nov 02, 2015 · Marielis GarciaRoom Cons: Laundry facility is out of service, only contains one working clothes dryer. TV only gets three channels without static, twelve channels total if you enjoy listening only (no discernable picture) to your favorite shows. The mini fridge is actually a mini freezer, freezing everything in it from milk to ham and mayo on the lowest setting. Bed linens are in need of replacement with the top blanket alone sporting six cigarette burn holes. Room Pros: The hot water does come through immediately and they allowed my dog to stay for am extra $10 a day. I'm guessing she could've qualified as a high end guest but at least she was allowed to stay so I digress. Hope this helps! Facility info: Spoke with two very professional Gastonia police officers outside of my building after one overnight stay here. They came by for a missing property report (which was unfounded, kind of a pro I guess). They apparently felt i was out of place and learning my home was over four hours away advised me of the following... Seven individuals were arrested in the building directly behind my room eighteen hours prior to our discussion for herion possession and distribution. Only six hours following the herion arrest and unrelated, two individuals were arrested for fighting (AKA Simple Assault). Last but not least, a homicide occurred approximately ten doors away from the room I rented some time in the last summer. Someone shot into the occupants door, striking and killing them. That was just recent examples, not the only issues. Maybe this is not the good side of town?
Jan 13, 2017 · Ryan W.Hmmm - I put 1 star because do not stay here was not an option. there are not enough words to describe the "stay". Red light district -- yep outside bulbs are red. Activity in parking lot is sketchy. Cannot sleep for all the activity going on. People seem to lurk in bushes and come out of no where. The room was filthy. The tub had a layer of dirt in it. Pay the extra 5 or 10 dollars and enjoy somewhere else. Or skip Gastonia all together.
