Booked a room for one night. 1st.. due to RIT graduation, room rates were jacked up to $184 a night đand everyone else was booked up. I didnât even make it to check-in. And I turned around and walked to my car And canceled my room I ate the $184 and left. This place is shady as all can be. Homeless and sketchy individuals everywhere before you even get in the building. Place stunk of weed.

Rooms are typically described as air-conditioned with wood-effect floors, offering a simple and functional decor. While the brand aims for a clean environment, it's crucial for potential guests to be aware of mixed reviews regarding the hotel's overall condition and atmosphere. Some customer feedback has noted issues with cleanliness and a perceived "shady" or "ghetto" environment, mentioning strong odors, such as weed, and the presence of individuals that made guests feel uncomfortable. These are significant points of concern that have been raised by past guests and may impact the overall ambiance.
The exterior corridors and presence of vending machines contribute to the motel-style convenience. The property offers free self-parking, including limited space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which can be a valuable amenity for those traveling by larger vehicles. While there's a designated smoking area, the hotel generally maintains a smoke-free policy in its rooms and common indoor areas. The hotel was built in 1989 and features a traditional architectural style.

For guests requiring laundry services, there is an on-site coin-operated laundry facility, which is particularly beneficial for longer stays. Free coffee is generally offered in the lobby, providing a welcoming touch. The hotel also has vending machines for quick access to snacks and beverages. Notably, Red Roof Inn is known for its pet-friendly policy. At this specific location, up to two pets (cats or dogs) are allowed per room with a weight limit of up to 80 lbs per pet. Its proximity to educational institutions like the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology can make it a viable option for visitors to these campuses. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center, Kodak Center, and Geva Theatre.
Red Roof Inn often promotes itself as a value-oriented lodging choice, emphasizing affordability and essential comforts. The "Sleep Easy. Spend Less." slogan reflects this philosophy. While the hotel generally aims to offer a comfortable and clean stay, guest experiences at this specific location have been significantly varied, as highlighted in customer reviews. Positive feedback has mentioned rooms being "clean, comfortable, nice, very kind" and "great place quiet and clean." Some guests have appreciated the staff's helpfulness and caring nature.
However, several critical reviews have pointed to significant issues. One guest cited an experience where they "didn't even make it to check-in," describing the place as "shady," with "homeless and sketchy individuals everywhere," and a strong "stunk of weed." Another review echoed concerns about cleanliness, stating, "da place didn't look clean at all" and feeling the hotel looked "too ghetto" due to the perceived presence of "bims hanging round." These negative experiences, which led guests to cancel their bookings and even "haul ass," indicate a disparity between the brand's stated goals and the actual guest experience at times. Such feedback underscores the importance of thorough maintenance, effective security measures, and consistent adherence to cleanliness standards for guest satisfaction.
Potential guests should weigh the affordable pricing and convenient location against these varied accounts of the hotel's environment and condition. For those seeking basic accommodation close to the airport and main highways at a competitive price point, and who are willing to manage potential environmental concerns, the Red Roof Inn Rochester - Airport might serve as a functional option. However, for travelers prioritizing a consistently pristine and upscale environment, it may be advisable to consider other alternatives.

May 14, 2025 ¡ Michelle PhamI went to the Red roof hotel đ¨ and tried to reserve a hotel. When I went into the hotel I said 2 myself what kinda of hotel is this? #1, da place didn't look clean at all. And #2, I noticed when I went to this hotel I didn't see a lot of cars parked in the parking lot. So it raises a red flag. I said 2 myself no wonder why I don't see 2 many cars out in the parking lot cuz this hotel looks 2 ghetto 4 me. I noticed bims be hanging round that hotel đ¨ cuz it's so reggady. So when I went into the hotel, I just told da clerk, I had to get my credit card. But I made it all up though. I got n my SUV and hauled ass. I said no way Jose, I'm not booking no reservations at this dirty reggady hotel. That answer my â no wonder why I didn't see 2 many vehicles out in that parking lot. đ What they need to do is remodel the red roof hotel so it can look better.
May 13, 2025 ¡ ToijahAbsolutely unhygienic, filthy, and disgusting. Towels and sheets were stained with long hairs on them. Stains of all colors; black, brown, yellow, redâŚBathroom had knots of hair all over the floor and stains as well, and what looked like black mold. Fridge had layers of spills on every surface, and everything was in general disrepair. The beds werenât even made, just had foam blankets and pillows thrown over the mattresses with strange lumps under the sheets. This exact type of review goes back 5 years on Google with the same empty response from management that they appreciate the feedback and will look into it. That is obviously lip service because nothing has changed. Charged $80 for this room, but I wouldnât stay for free. Front desk person didnât argue with us when we said we wouldnât stay and was not unkind, but he couldnât give us a refund because we booked online; hoping that refund will come through like he said. We were lucky enough to find another room in the area. Donât stay here.
Jan 21, 2025 ¡ Nicole D'OrazioRoom filthy disgusting. Food crumbs on all surfaces. All bedding stained. Run down dirty place. Cancelled; did not stay there after checking out two disgusting rooms, but company only wants to give voucher for less money, and does not want to refund money. Place should be shut down and bull dozed.
May 05, 2025 ¡ Barb AnnNo refunds. These people will fart in a church for a dollar. No electricity from 8 pm, so no warming food or tv. Tv is old and has no netflix or amazon Prime, so it's useless anyway even if electricity is working. No soap in bathrooms, only one dirty towel even though i checked that 2 people are coming, no heat at night cause of no electricity, and of course no refunds... so you pay full price and get only bed. For 100$, i could sleep in my van and get a better night of sleep and be able to charge the phone at least. Ice everywhere outside, so have to be careful not to fall. The room had a table for the laptop but no chair(but since there was no electricity cant use a laptop anyway). And there is a 1 recliner, but it's across from the mirror, so i guess you can sit and stare at yourself in the mirror in the dark.
