If you're looking for amenities to entertain your family between travel sport events, do not book here. The indoor pool was too frigid for the kids to even wade in. The screen and connectivity features of the fitness equipment were not functional. The t.v. was too dated to stream. Also, we noted intent to return to freshen up between games and grab our groceries, but housekeeping had cleaned the room more than an hour before checkout. And, the sales manager offered no compensation on addressing these inconveniences. It costed me more for less.
For those in Louisville, Kentucky, seeking "Hotels Near Me" with a focus on extended stays, Residence Inn Louisville Northeast presents itself as a dedicated option. Located at 3500 Springhurst Commons Dr, Louisville, KY 40241, USA, this Marriott property is designed to provide guests with a comfortable and convenient home away from home, particularly for longer visits, business relocations, or family trips where the comforts of an apartment are desired over a traditional hotel room.
The hotel's environment is structured to cater to long-term guests, often featuring more communal spaces than a standard hotel. While some reviews suggest a need for updates in certain areas, the overall design aims for a residential feel. The property is situated in the Springhurst Commons area, which is highly regarded for its convenient access to a multitude of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Within walking distance, guests can find various restaurants, a movie theater, and extensive retail opportunities, making daily living convenient without needing to drive extensively. The location also offers easy access to major interstates, providing a good base for exploring Louisville's wider attractions, such as E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, and ensuring a relatively quiet neighborhood despite being close to amenities.
Residence Inn Louisville Northeast emphasizes services that support an extended stay. The staff is generally described as very nice and helpful, with many guests praising their pleasant demeanor and accommodating nature. The front desk operates 24/7, ensuring assistance is available at any time. For those with laundry needs during longer stays, the hotel provides on-site coin-operated laundry facilities and also offers dry cleaning/laundry services. Business travelers can utilize the business center, which typically includes computer stations and printing services, and meeting facilities are available for small gatherings. Complimentary self-parking is a key convenience for guests traveling by car. The hotel is also pet-friendly, welcoming furry companions (with potential charges, so guests should confirm pet policies directly). Additionally, the hotel offers a grocery/convenience store on-site for quick purchases, and luggage storage is available.
A primary feature of Residence Inn properties, including this Louisville Northeast location, is the spacious, apartment-style suites, all equipped with full kitchens. These kitchens typically include a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and essential cookware, dishware, and utensils. This allows guests to prepare their own meals, offering significant savings and flexibility, especially during extended stays. The rooms themselves are designed with separate living and sleeping areas (in many suite types), providing ample space for relaxation and productivity. Amenities include comfortable beds with premium bedding, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and complimentary Wi-Fi and wired internet access. Some suites may even feature a fireplace, adding to the cozy atmosphere. Desks, iron/ironing boards, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries are also standard inclusions. For families, rollaway beds and free cribs/infant beds can be requested.
The hotel offers valuable complimentary amenities. A significant draw is the free hot breakfast buffet, served daily starting early in the morning (typically 6:30 AM on weekdays). Guests appreciate the variety of options available, often including hot items like eggs and waffles, along with continental choices. While described as "simple" by some, the breakfast is generally regarded as sufficient and hot, offering a good start to the day. For recreational purposes, the hotel features an indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center. These facilities are important for guests looking to maintain their routines or unwind. However, it's worth noting that some recent guest feedback has highlighted issues with these amenities, such as the indoor pool being "too frigid" for use or fitness equipment having non-functional screens and connectivity features. Outdoor amenities may include a terrace, barbecue grills, and a picnic area, providing additional spaces for relaxation or social gatherings. The hotel also strives for accessibility, with features like wheelchair-accessible parking, paths of travel, and accessible rooms.
From a promotional standpoint, Residence Inn is part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, allowing guests to earn points for stays that can be redeemed for free nights and other benefits. This is a significant advantage for frequent travelers. Guests can often find competitive rates for nightly, weekly, and monthly stays directly through Marriott's website or other major booking platforms, with longer stays typically offering better per-night value. The hotel's location offers proximity to attractions such as Churchill Downs (approximately 18 miles) and the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory (about 13 miles), making it a suitable base for exploring the city, even if it requires a short drive. The immediate vicinity with its abundance of dining and shopping options adds to the appeal.
It is crucial to provide an objective overview, including all aspects of the guest experience. While many guests have positive stays, praising the spacious rooms, full kitchens, friendly staff, and convenient location, some recent reviews have brought forth significant concerns. Beyond the issues with amenities like the cold pool and non-functional fitness equipment, there have been reports of dated televisions unable to stream, and issues with housekeeping cleaning rooms significantly before checkout, even when guests intended to return. The lack of compensation or proactive resolution from management regarding these inconveniences has been a point of dissatisfaction for some. Other isolated concerns have included unworked appliances (stove, microwave, fan), dirty towels, and a general impression from some guests that the hotel is in need of renovation or better maintenance, despite staff efforts to keep it tidy. These experiences suggest that while the hotel offers desirable features, the execution and maintenance of these features can sometimes fall short, impacting the overall value for some guests. Prospective guests should consider these varying experiences when making their booking decision and are advised to communicate any issues promptly with the hotel staff to seek resolution during their stay.

Apr 26, 2025 · Melissa BennettNice Marriott hotel. My room has a full kitchen for my 20 day stay. Staff is very nice and the breakfast is simple but there is a variety and it's hot every morning starting at 6:30am
Apr 25, 2025 · Matthew MatherlyRyan and Sherry were working the front desk when I stayed here on 05/01/2025. They were so nice and helpful. I have never went through the trouble of writing a review before but they went so far out of their way for me it was the least I could do in return. Great crew, God Bless!
May 01, 2025 · Elizabeth SuttonI was treated terrible & lied too! They covered bowel movement from over flowed commode with towels for the weekend. I was long term promised $49 a night as long as I wanted to stay. During covid, house keepers didn't have to wear Gloves, one of house keepers' husband died of covid. I caught covid, was very ill and treated poorly as if I was just a sick old woman. In December of 23, the floor lamp was unproperally placed on the floor, when I walked to thermostat to adjust, ended up onto the floor. 2 people at front desk REFUSED to help me OFF the floor! I was hurt to bad to get up so I had to crawl to get my phone. The front desk wouldn't event call 911!!!!!!!! Finally, after struggling to crawl to my phone I was able to call 911 & EMS came, took me to the hospital on December 8. I was admitted for several days & then transferred to rehab until December 29. 2023. I called cooperate office & a lady said she would try and get me reimbursed from the extended stay while I was away in hospital and rehab. This never happened of course. Why am I so late in writing this review you may wonder. I have tried and tried, even speaking to District manager who promised to meet with me in March of 2024, take me to dinner, allow me to give my complete story & promised he would take off some of these charges. I texted him I believe April of 2024 asking what happened to March. I was ignored after all of his great promises. Even though I was promised a certain rate not to change. It was changed. Most of 23, I was charged regular rates most of the time. I never got reimbursed for the time I was in the hospital and rehab due to the negligence of the extended stay. I have loved extended stays with my travel, etc for over 9 years. So it's years that I've spent in extended stays; usually, I became friends with all managers. Out of all extended stays, this was by far the worst EVER!!! I have contacted corporate residence inn/ marriot with no one helping. I called a previous manager asking what I could do. His advice, go to the internet. I would have earlier but the fall left me weak to get out of there. I was told off by front desk when the heat didn't work, treated like I was a liar. Commode issues finally got resolved but prior I was told it was me. It was a nightmare and much more and no reimburses like I was promised. I know I'm late due to calling so many places and no results but please HELP ME! JUANITA SAUNDERS
Mar 24, 2025 · Juanita SaundersChecking into hotel without booking a stay in advance I thought would give us an issue, but not like this. The gentleman at the front desk couldn’t access his system in order to make door keys or anything. Check in process was a hassle. Was willing to overlook that because we didn’t book in advance, until we received a call while out to brunch during our day 2 stay. Call was hotel informing us that we left belongings in our room?.We weren’t scheduled to check out until the following day. So here we are rushing back to the hotel to try and get it all figured out. Being that he couldn’t access things during check in, we didn’t have an email or any kind of confirmation of our stay, except where our card was being charged. Management was not very apologetic to the very stressful and inconvenient situation. We did stay the one more night as planned, only to realize we were charged for yet another night. Nightmare for sure. Other than that the stay here wouldn’t have been half bad. Room was clean and stocked. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Location of hotel was great for our visit. Taking the good with the bad I guess.
