We stayed for an event we were doing at UMass medical school and it was the perfect location, only a 4 min drive. The suit and the hotel were clean, breakfast was okay, but I did not drop a star for that because they were very accommodating for my friend’s allergies so we were able to find something safe for them(and lets face it, it is a complimentary breakfast, can’t expect it to be fine dining). While I feel like the above was great, what stood out the most was the service we got from the front desk, in particular the women that worked in the evenings (I don’t remember her name but we stayed but we were there 3/31-4/2) She just was so kind and helped with all our question. All the staff made us feel we could have asked for anything and they were going to find a way to help us! (We didnt have crazy request but just the feeling we left with) Thanks for a great stay.

Residence Inn Worcester Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Worcester, Massachusetts, the Residence Inn Worcester, located at 503 Plantation St, Worcester, MA 01605, USA, offers an all-suite hotel experience, primarily catering to extended stays. As part of the Marriott brand, it aims to provide a comfortable, home-like environment for guests, whether they are visiting for business, medical appointments, or leisure.

The environment of the Residence Inn Worcester is designed to offer a sense of comfort and convenience. Situated on Plantation Street, it is strategically located with excellent access to major city points. Notably, it is just a short drive, approximately 4 minutes, from UMass Medical School, making it an ideal choice for visitors to the university or medical center. The hotel is also located beside Lake Quinsigamond, offering some scenic views or proximity to nature, with Quinsigamond State Park and Regatta Point Park nearby. The building itself was constructed in 2005 and has 129 rooms spread across 4 stories. While some guest feedback indicates that the room furniture might be "outdated" or that the property might be "a bit dated," other reviews describe the suits and the hotel as "clean." The property has recently undergone a change of ownership, with a private equity firm acquiring it in 2024, which may signal future updates or changes. The common areas likely include a lobby and potentially a lounge area. The hotel also features an indoor pool and a tennis court, adding to the recreational environment available on-site.

The services at Residence Inn Worcester are geared towards making extended stays as comfortable as possible. A complimentary hot breakfast is offered daily, although reviews regarding its quality are mixed. While one guest appreciated the staff's accommodation for allergies, others found the hot breakfast "always cold" with "burnt" and "rubber" items, suggesting inconsistency in preparation or temperature maintenance. Despite this, some guests still found the breakfast "tasty and fresh." The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout the property and in all guest suites, ensuring connectivity for work or leisure. For guests who prefer to cook, a free grocery delivery service is available, which is a significant convenience for long-term residents. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing pets (dogs and cats) for an additional charge, which is a key service for many travelers. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist guests, and customer reviews frequently highlight the exceptional service from the front desk staff, with specific praise for evening shift workers. The staff is described as "kind," "helpful," and making guests "feel we could have asked for anything and they were going to find a way to help us." Practical services include on-site coin laundry facilities, although one review noted issues with the number of machines and the requirement for quarters, indicating a need for modernization. Dry cleaning services are also offered. The hotel is a smoke-free property.

Key features of the Residence Inn Worcester contribute to its suitability for extended stays. All accommodations are spacious suites, offering separate living and sleeping areas, which provides more room and comfort than a standard hotel room. Each suite comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and all necessary cookware and dishes. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals and save on dining expenses. Rooms also typically feature flat-screen TVs with premium channels, work desks with ergonomic chairs, and ironing facilities. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, providing a year-round option for relaxation and exercise. A 24-hour fitness center is also available, though one review described the gym as "small." Other amenities include an outdoor space with barbecue facilities and fire pits, offering additional options for relaxation and socializing. The hotel offers meeting rooms for business travelers or small gatherings. Mobility and hearing accessible rooms are available with features like roll-in showers and grab bars, and the property has wheelchair-accessible parking and pathways.

From a promotional standpoint, Residence Inn Worcester, being a Marriott property, participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, offering member-exclusive rates, points, and other benefits. The hotel's marketing often highlights its all-suite accommodations with full kitchens, free breakfast, and pet-friendly policy as core selling points. Its proximity to UMass Medical School is a strong promotional factor for medical visitors. Promotional offers may include special rates for longer stays, discounts for AAA/CAA members, or corporate rates for businesses in the area. However, it's crucial for the hotel to manage guest expectations regarding the breakfast quality and the condition of some facilities, as highlighted by negative reviews. While some guests praise the breakfast, others find it disappointing, leading to a discrepancy in guest experience. Similarly, while the staff receives overwhelming positive feedback, some guests have noted outdated furniture and issues with the laundry room. Therefore, promotional efforts should aim for transparency about current conditions while emphasizing the proven strengths, such as the exceptional staff service and convenient location. Prospective guests are advised to call the hotel directly at (508) 753-6300 or visit the Marriott website to inquire about current rates, availability, and specific promotional offers.

In conclusion, for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Worcester, MA, the Residence Inn Worcester offers a practical and generally comfortable option for extended stays, especially given its all-suite layout with full kitchens and convenient location near UMass Medical School. While some aspects like breakfast consistency and facility upkeep receive mixed reviews, the consistently praised exceptional service from the staff is a significant advantage. Guests should consider the nature of an extended-stay hotel, which prioritizes space and amenities like kitchens over daily full-service hotel luxuries, and manage expectations regarding breakfast quality and laundry facilities.

The staff should keep in mind that this is not the Ritz. The hot breakfast was always cold. The breakfast sandwiches were always burnt with rubber eggs and rubber sausages. I can't even imagine the person setting up the breakfast would actually allow these to even be served! The room furniture is outdated but yet after all this said, this hotel charges top dollar and people pay for this! Talk about a slap in the face. The mgmt should dress more appropriately, considering again they charge top dollar, they should look the part. Laundry room is ridiculous. For as many guests, they only have 3 washers and the dryers are insufficient AND YOU NEED QUARTERS! Get with the times people. This place needs some major changes. And the outside garbage receptacles were always over flowing. Beware future guests, this is a wolf in sheep's clothing!

The entire hotel smells like shrimp! Each person renting is able to cook in their suite and the smells are atrocious. Don’t plan to use the pull out bed either. It is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. I didn’t expect luxury from a pull out sofa but you can feel every single bar and spring in the thing. Save your money and stay elsewhere. It’s so bad here I am planning to forfeit the money I spent on the rest of my stay and go elsewhere.

This hotel definitely needs some renovation.. Overall it gives you the feel of early 2010s hotels... The room reminds me the year of 2014, where I spent 6-month travelling and stayed at various Residence Inns.. Front desk was nice and very helpful. Good stay!

First I don’t know what ur put in ur nasty pool but it made me and all my friends sick if you guys are going to swim make sure to bring goggles because that pool is not for the weak, Right after I got out my eye were burning and very red then a whole right when I got home my head started to hurt and some of my friends threw up, Next the shower wasn’t really bad it was clean and I actually loved the hot water. But please check the hotel before ur stay in it .
