This place is desperate for some renovations. The carpet is quite old...and smells like it. I'm pretty sure the carpet is much older than me. When we pulled up, I was happy to see the outside had a fresh coat of paint. I thought "ok, they must be keeping up with the place" but then we walked in and the air was quite musty and a bit humid. Then we went up to our room and it also smelled a bit in there. I turned on the AC, which was quite difficult to reach, to freshen up the place and it let out a warm cough of wet gym socks. The AC did make things a bit better eventually. But we were pretty turned off by the smells and how old and dingy everything was. The bathroom smelled real funky, I couldn't place the scent but it made me want to not spend any longer than necessary in there. I will say the sheets were fresh and clean, the pillows were fine, but the ambiance made us not want to spend anymore time there. The staff were very nice and professional. I'd say this place shouldn't be charging anymore than $75/night in it's current state. For the price we paid I would have expected it to be a bit more updated, like at least have carpet from 2010...and not the 90s. When I saw it was a Choice Hotel I thought I knew what kind of place I'd be walking into, but this place is not up to snuff.

Jul 13, 2025 · Sarah SwindleRodeway inn is very run down. The exterior appeared to have a fresh coat of paint but the inside had 1990's time capsule vibes. The odor in the main lobby has a distinct and pungent smell of stale smoke and old pizza boxes. The rooms also had an odd smell, our bathroom was ripe with the scent of urine. When we turned on the AC it farted a foul aroma of gym socks in our faces. We feared the floors the most, the carpet was super icky and old, we didn't want to place our bags down. We were in Red Wing to celebrate a wedding and during the reception I discussed with my spouse and we decided we weren't spending the night there. The sheets looked clean but the rest of the room made us run back to the cities. The staff was nice, and I feel bad leaving two stars without mentioning anything to them but someone has to warn you. We read the reviews and thought "eh, it doesn't seem that bad," but I assure you, it's pretty bad. Rodeway charged me $140 for a room that really should've cost half that account. In summary: this place literally stinks.
Jul 13, 2025 · Val SchulzRoom was missing the refrigerator. You could tell the microwave used to sit on top of it (we also saw other rooms as we were leaving to check out, and that was the arrangement in those rooms). Our microwave was sitting on the luggage rack, and did not work. The tv turned on but was not functional. The room almost smelled like there was an electrical fire? Every time someone left their room, their door slammed so loudly that we jumped. Pool was closed for good. The air conditioner worked and the bedding seemed clean/bed was comfortable. Given that we only needed the room to sleep after a concert, and that was it....it was worth the low cost for that purpose. Had we desired a tv, microwave, fridge, or pool....I'd have given it a zero.
Jul 08, 2025 · Mandy KelloggRoom was clean enough. Air conditioner made a lot of noise making it hard to sleep. Pool is not open.
Jul 27, 2025 · Kate HindesMy fiancé and I came to the rodeway inn for a wedding in town for my aunt. Let me say this was a very pleasant experience as an affordable hotel for 2 nights. We came in and our room was very clean and the front desk attendants were very kind! Ive lived in redwing all my life just recently moved away etc so I've never been there before til recently.. But the overall experience and hospitality was awesome! But my fiancé being experienced with cleanliness and making sure our hotel room was clean bedsheets, towels, etc. everything was spotless! Also another thing that very much surprised me. While my fiancé and I were at the wedding we came back to a made bed and dirty towels picked up and also my tip jar that I get as a server was out because i got snacks the night before and i wasn't expecting anyone to go in there.. but it was untouched. I of course got nervous but my money was all accounted for and it is labeled as “Tip Jar” 😂😂 (my fault) but i was very surprised with that much money being out for grabs that no one took a single cent out of it.. I give my full trust on this hotel and the housekeeping and we were very happy about our experience there🙌
