My boyfriend and I stayed here, because we had stayed here before and they were really nice and accommodating. Not this time. The older gentleman that had checked me in also checked me out and had inspected the room before we left. My boyfriend and I travel a lot and we stay in a lot of hotels and we have NEVER been accused of smoking in any rooms at any hotel or resort we’ve stayed in and a lot of places now have the sensor that alerts security someone is “smoking” in their room. We were accused of smoking marajuana in the room when we hadn’t smoked ANYTHING. The older man tried to keep my deposit and I had to literally try to explain to him we hadn’t done it. He got mad at my boyfriend for swearing at him and I was really nice and apologized to him for that and explained that he was upset to be accused of something we didn’t do. He said the room smelled of it really bad and it honestly did not. We were given my deposit back but were told we aren’t allowed to come back and rent anymore. I didn’t make any complaints about anything during my stay there even when an older man on the other side would holler out for me or thee gentleman next to us kept having various visitors through the day and mostly at night. Out of all the shady stuff we had seen we minded our own business and went straight to our room and WE were the ones who got accused of something we hadn’t done and banned. To add to that the heating and cooling window units are horrible. The few times we’ve stayed there they wouldn’t work right. The AC wouldn’t cut on and I had to bring management to come look at it the first times we stayed when it was warmer and they fixed it but it was cold and the heat did not work. I had to keep working with the unit to get it to work right and when I did it was okay until you woke up and it’s just as cold as it is outside. Other than that the room wasn’t bad for the price and location. Just a lot of shady stuff does go on around there especially during the night hours and we’ve noticed it the few times we’ve stayed. So just be mindful of that if you book a room here. The smoking thing is just what we experienced. It sucks that that happened and we won’t be back even if we could. I was nice and honest about not smoking in the room and was mistreated. Like I had said we do travel a lot and we NEVER have smoked in any rooms we’ve ever stayed in and for this to happen to us was very upsetting.

Jan 12, 2025 · Christina RoenkerI always stay here when I come into Walhalla and not just because it’s one of the only motels here. They’re always nice to me. The rooms are always very clean and the area is very quiet. I highly recommend this place.
Dec 12, 2024 · Pita Bee5 star because... #1, Clean and smells good. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. No fancy breakfast, no pool, no weight room. But... very good bed (not too hard), cable TV, slower internet but sufficient to stream, quiet, closeish to Clemson at 70% cheaper than others on game day, family owned and we felt safe.
Sep 21, 2024 · Al NicholsI'm a young woman who has stayed here alone numerous times. I've never felt unsafe or unwelcome. I see reviews stating how it is dated, they felt uneasy, etc. . .while that may be some people's experience it has never been mine. I've only ever had encounters with one man at the front desk. I believe his name is Skipper. He is kind and very welcoming. I have chosen the wrong room online line a few times and he's always happy to change it for me. While the rooms are older they are always clean and smell fresh. This is not a sandals resort so anyone stating it was old and outdated should be more mindful when they book their reservation. There are photos online of what the rooms look like so there should be no surprise. It's a very cost effective hotel in a very expense part of South Carolina. I will definitely be back to stay.
