Jun 14, 2025 · Brittany AdamsLiving on the lake, it's nice to know that there's a reliable place to get a good meal, and The Root Cellar does not disappoint! All of the food was cooked to perfection; we didn't have a single complaint about our meal. A medium-rare steak that was, in fact, cooked medium-rare, seasoned well, and covered in sauteed mushrooms and onions. The fish fry was crispy, fresh and tender. The fries were well-seasoned and crunchy on the outside, while remaining smooth and soft on the inside. We will absolutely be coming back!
Jun 24, 2025 · Megan MurphyDecided to celebrate a friend’s birthday at the Root Cellar Restaurant, it was an excellent choice! We went for Saturday Prime Rib, we got there a bit early but were seated anyway, waitress put or orders in even though it was not quite time she directed us to the salad bar were we found the freshest salad fixings we’ve seen anywhere for a while, three of us ordered prime rib and the cuts were generous and perfectly done the forth person order a rib eye that was high and done to perfection, side were excellent and after dinner a grasshopper went down well! Our waitress was very attentive and took a bit of ribbing with good humor! All in all it was a superb meal and we will definitely return! Cost with generous tip came in at $250. for all four of us and was definitely well worth every penny spent!!
Jul 13, 2025 · Bob (Sandpit)We stopped Saturday at 5pm on the boat for prime rib. With new ownership we were hoping it would be better than the past few years. We were shocked, the food and service was amazing, like it was 15 years ago! We all 4 prime rib dinners and the pulled pork sandwich. Fantastic! Can't wait to try more menu items soon! My only recommendation would be to somehow get more boat parking available on the Lake! :)
Jun 30, 2025 · Melissa “Melissa W” WellendorfUnder new ownership, but menu remains the same. The bar service was fantastic. Bill is the best!!! They have a new concrete patio off the back dining room which is a great place to enjoy a refreshing libation or meal. Even in the UP summer, you can still find many days that are relatively bug free on the patio.
