ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging Introduce

For those exploring the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the charming coastal town of Falmouth, Massachusetts, ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging presents a distinctive option. Located at 59 Shore St, Falmouth, MA 02540, USA, this historic inn, dating back to 1806, offers a unique blend of traditional New England charm and a range of amenities designed for a comfortable stay. While some guest feedback points to aspects of its older character, it remains a popular choice for its prime location and family-friendly atmosphere.

The environment of ShoreWay Acres Inn is often described as a "beautiful historic inn" with a "New England beach town" feel. The property is a sprawling complex comprising six buildings, some of which are beautifully restored former sea captain's homes, alongside newer structures. This allows for a variety of accommodation styles, from cozy, traditional rooms to more contemporary hotel-style spaces, and even cottage-like vacation rentals with kitchens. The inn is set amidst extensive, well-maintained lawns and garden areas, featuring gazebos, umbrella tables, and barbecue grills, creating a serene and inviting outdoor space. Its secluded location on one of Falmouth's most historic streets provides a restful solitude, yet it remains centrally located. The overall ambiance aims to evoke a sense of authenticity and a step back in time, distinguishing it from more generic chain hotels.

In terms of services, ShoreWay Acres Inn strives to provide a welcoming and accommodating experience. A highlight for many guests is the delicious complimentary breakfast buffet, often referred to as a "Cape Cod Hot Breakfast Bar," served daily. This typically includes a variety of hot and cold items such as eggs, breakfast meats, cereals, muffins, pastries, fresh fruits, juices, coffee, and tea. The inn operates with a front desk staffed during limited hours, typically from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and guests arriving outside these hours are advised to contact the property in advance for check-in instructions. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas and often in guest rooms, ensuring connectivity. Free self-parking is also provided on site, accommodating various vehicle types. The inn offers concierge services and tour/ticket assistance, helping guests plan their local excursions. For special occasions, wedding services are available, and the inn boasts meeting facilities with 3,757 square feet of event space, accommodating up to 200 guests. Laundry facilities are also on site. The inn maintains a "no pets allowed" policy, with the exception of service animals, and is a 100% smoke, vape, and flame-free property. While a recent review pointed out a lack of 24/7 front desk support and difficulties with an offsite customer service line, other reviews praise the friendly and attentive staff, particularly at breakfast. Environmentally conscious practices are also in place, with eco-friendly cleaning supplies and systems, and an emphasis on sustainability.

The features at ShoreWay Acres Inn are designed to enhance both relaxation and recreation. The inn offers two pools: a year-round indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool (typically open from July to October, though some sources state June to September), providing options for swimming regardless of the weather. Saunas are also available for guest use. Many of the 80 accommodations include private baths, refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, irons with boards, hairdryers, and flat-screen TVs with cable channels. Some larger accommodations or self-catering rooms may include microwaves and full or mini-kitchens with cookware and dishware, ideal for extended stays or families. Connecting/adjoining rooms are available upon request. For outdoor enjoyment, the property features barbecue grills and picnic areas, often utilized for guest cookouts or even arranged lobster clambakes during the summer. Recreational activities such as volleyball, croquet, and badminton are available on the expansive lawns. While the inn retains its historic charm, some features, such as the use of traditional keys instead of RFID or scan card entry, reflect its older origins. Guest rooms may vary in their condition, with some being described as "dated" but clean, offering large refrigerators and good shower pressure, though shower ceilings can be low in older sections. There are no elevators, so upper floors are accessible by stairs only. Safety features on site include carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors.

From a promotional perspective, ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging emphasizes its unique historical character and central location as key selling points. It positions itself as an inviting alternative to contemporary hotels, offering a glimpse into authentic Cape Cod life. The inn highlights its "walk to everything" location, being centrally situated in downtown Falmouth's Historic District. Guests can easily walk to Main Street with its array of shops, art galleries, museums, and over twenty restaurants, ranging from sidewalk cafes to fine dining establishments. The beautiful Falmouth beaches, including Surf Drive Beach, are within easy walking distance (around 11-14 minutes). The Island Queen Ferry, providing service to Martha's Vineyard, is just about a mile away, making day trips convenient. The inn also promotes special event packages, including "Christmas by the Sea Weekend," "New Year's Weekend," and "Falmouth Classic Car Dream Cruise," along with customized packages for reunions, retreats, and school vacations. Seasonal lobster clambakes and dinner & dancing weekends are also advertised. Its long-standing family ownership and management are often highlighted, emphasizing a personal touch. While the pricing, especially during peak season, has been a point of contention for some guests who perceive the accommodations as more "motel-like" than a "3-star hotel," the inn consistently draws guests looking for a traditional Cape Cod experience.

In conclusion, ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging provides a distinct lodging experience in Falmouth, MA, falling squarely within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for those seeking a blend of history, comfort, and prime location. Its numerous amenities, including two pools and a complimentary breakfast, coupled with its central position allowing easy access to beaches and village life, make it an attractive option. While the historic nature of the property means some aspects might feel less modernized compared to newer hotels, its charm, family-run atmosphere, and convenient location continue to appeal to a broad range of travelers.

Marriott Gold Elite member here… I do a lot of traveling for work…. The room doors could be knocked down with a swift punch. They are literally the same material you have in closets for builder grade houses (MDF or cheaper). Bed comfortable. Room clean but dated. Accent furniture stained but not a big deal for me. Big fridge. Low shower ceiling. Good shower pressure. Bad toilet. No RFIDs or scan card entry to room - that’s how dated we are. This is a regular, old key entry place (aka motel). TV was not working, I pulled the armoire away from the wall and it was not plugged in. Okay, no big deal. Plugged it in, manually turned it on and it worked (picture was terrible, 2005 Esq). I go to use the remote and it doesn’t work. I call guest services and it’s a horrible offsite company answering and taking messages. The customer service was terrible. I could not understand the person who answered and it took me a minute to realize they have no one working the front desk or on call. So no help after front desk closeses. This is peak summer vacation time and they are charging $375 a night. Anyways, all I needed were batteries (for the remote) and I got NO help. I’m so over motel owners trying to exploit vacationers with sub par accommodations but charging premium pricing. This is not a 3 star hotel. It’s a 2 star motel located in a vacation area. Reluctantly, book at your convenience.

The Inn is super cute and the location was great however the functionality is bad. I heard the neighbors tv very clearly, the street traffic was loud, especially motorcycles. The toilet is so low to the floor and a tiny seat. The porch light was so bright that I couldn’t sleep. The worst was the AC was so loud that we had to turn it off at night to sleep then it was too hot to sleep. We left a day early because it was miserable!

Spent three nights here. What a superb place. We were greeted and welcomed in style. Old style hospitality. Our room was huge with fridge and microwave. Although cooking/eating in room not necessary as plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was in the hotel and great. But what was most outstanding was the staff. All were so friendly and helpful. Especially Paula.

Very conveniently located and wonderfully friendly staff. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice available. There is an indoor pool to use and there is plenty of parking available. The hallway carpets and skirting were a bit dusty/grubby in the pool building and needed a good vacuum... but still a great old school place to stay overall, especially if you like quaint decor. Lots of history with this hotel and a true survivor. Thank you for a lovely stay.
