A great place for family and couples. I loved the location and enjoyed the rooms. We didn't like the room that we first got because of the view. They offered us another room which was wonderful. I loved the artwork displayed in the room and found out that each room has different artwork. Cool! An inspirational hotel that encourages artistic expression. Will stay here again and have encouraged my friends and family to check it out.

However, some minor points of feedback have been raised:
Room Temperature: Some guests have experienced rooms that were too hot, requiring them to open windows to cool down, suggesting a potential issue with the HVAC system or its control.
Bathroom Amenities: A few reviews mentioned the lack of certain bathroom amenities, such as lotion, indicating a slight oversight in provisioning.
Bathroom Door: One review mentioned a bathroom door that does not lock from the inside and allows visibility from the corners, which could be an issue for privacy, particularly when staying with friends.
Location for Downtown: While great for Allston/Cambridge, some acknowledge it's "not the most convenient" if the primary aim is frequent trips to downtown Boston, requiring a bit of a commute.
Despite these minor issues, the overall experience is highly rated, with many guests expressing a desire to return and recommend the hotel to others.

May 19, 2025 · Tonessa West CroweStayed at the Studio Allston for a work trip. I really enjoyed how spacious the hotel felt for Boston. The lobby, bar, and outdoor area were quiet large and open with plenty of beverage options and seating. The outdoor area, while closed when I was there for drinks, was a nice courtyard with firepits and fresh air. The rooms were all nice - large for Boston and were pretty comfortable. The room was a little too hot (we were there on a warm week in March) so I did have to open the window to cool it down at night. Also the bathroom could have used a few more amenities (there was no lotion). Staff was all very pleasant. The hotel felt to me like a very grown up hostel (perhaps the beer taps, foosball, and lots of BU kids aided in that feeling). It was very minimalist but not barren. I did enjoy my stay - I felt like there were things I needed available 24/7, the location was easy for getting in and out.
Mar 26, 2025 · Stephanie McCortHidden (or not?) gem! Super close to the “city”. Very walkable to lots of good food places & stores. Nearly free parking which is unheard of around here! Art work is neat. We got a gorilla room which made us chuckle. Complimentary breakfast with quite a variety. Pool table, ping pong table in lobby. They even have self pour taps which is super cool. Our room was mostly clean. Our trash bin had no bag and there were a few things I took a picture of upon check in just so we didn’t get blamed for it. But the important things were very clean. (Beds & bathroom) The friendliness of the workers is TOP TIER. I do wish that upon check in, they told us if the amenities as we didn’t realize there was free breakfast so we had ordered from their restaurant on site. Would’ve been nice to save that money but the food was good. We had ordered a bagel but there were complimentary bagels with the breakfast. Oh well! We know for next time! We will absolutely be back, truly you cannot beat the value!!!
Apr 01, 2025 · Amorette WorrellA funky hotel that has a good location to Havard Square. A nice park located across the street. The rooms are spacious, a comfortable bed and great water pressure from the shower. The breakfast checked off all the boxes for us and was a nice touch. The hotel had a welcome night on Friday with a free drink - bonus. Overall, it was a great couple of days for us. Thanks!
Mar 31, 2025 · randy mckinnonMy kids and I stayed here for a fencing tournament because it was the closest hotel to the fencing club. I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was super easy (you do have to pay $10 to park there overnight.) The staff was friendly, the room was fun, spacious, and clean. I loved the citrus-scented soap. There's a restaurant downstairs with lots of kid-friendly food, and breakfast was included. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7:00. We came down early because we had to get to the tournament early, and I was happily surprised to see breakfast was already out, even the hot food. The scrambled eggs and French toast were a bit meh, but it did the trick. There was also fruit, yogurt, bagels, and a few different cereals. The only thing I think the hotel should improve upon is the restaurant situation. There are no waiters or even a host, and you are supposed to order your own food from the provided computer or your phone, seat yourself, and then pick up your food from a counter when you get a text that it's ready. However, none of this is clear when you walk in. If you aren't going to have real, live people there to greet guests, at least have some clear signage telling them what to do. It was busy when we arrived, with a large group around the bar. We stood around for a few minutes, trying to figure out what the deal was. We saw the computer to order, but weren't sure if that was just for to-go orders. I finally made my way to the bartender, who was very nice and explained the whole system to me. A bit later, a man who was sitting near us asked if a waiter comes to take the orders, and I had to explain the whole system to him. It shouldn't be that confusing. Overall, though, the stay met all of our needs, and the location was perfect for our purposes.
