Situated at 3302 Cinema Ave, Anderson, SC 29621, USA, this hotel aims to provide a simple and affordable place to stay with convenient access to local attractions and routes.
The hotel's location is generally considered convenient, being near Lake Hartwell, Anderson University, and about 15 miles from Clemson University. Its proximity to Anderson Mall and the Anderson Civic and Sports Center also adds to its accessibility for various purposes, whether for leisure or events. The area is described by one positive reviewer as a "good, safe locality." However, the general environment within the hotel elicits mixed reviews. While one guest praised the room as "neat, clean, and well-maintained," another described the place as "nasty and reeks of cigarettes and pot." This disparity suggests potential inconsistencies in room quality and maintenance. Photos from online sources indicate a relatively simple, no-frills exterior and interior, consistent with a budget motel. Some areas, like the main entrance, might be inaccessible, with guests directed to use side doors, which could impact convenience and perception of security. Customer service at the Super 8 by Wyndham Anderson/Clemson Area receives mixed feedback. One guest described the staff as "courteous, helpful, and professional," contributing to a positive overall experience. This suggests that positive interactions with staff are possible and do occur. However, the critical review highlights significant issues with service, including a room discrepancy (booked non-smoking, assigned smoking), lack of basic amenities (no coffee pot, ironing board, or spare toilet paper), and what appears to be unhelpful or misleading information from the front desk regarding breakfast requirements. This conflicting feedback indicates that guest experience with staff can vary significantly.
Promotional information for Super 8 by Wyndham Anderson/Clemson Area typically emphasizes its affordability and convenience. It would likely highlight its competitive rates, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers, including those visiting Anderson University, Clemson University, or attending events at the Civic Center. The "free light breakfast" and free WiFi are standard Super 8 brand promises that would be featured. The pet-friendly policy also caters to a specific segment of travelers. The official website emphasizes being a "dependable comfort" hotel, offering "simple, accommodating rooms." However, potential guests should be aware of the discrepancies reported in some reviews, particularly regarding the actual scope of the breakfast offering and the potential for cleanliness or odor issues in rooms. While the hotel aims to be a comfortable and value-for-money option, guest experiences can be inconsistent. May 19, 2025 · Vibhudatt KhatriI would NOT recommend, the place is nasty and reeks of cigarettes and pot. You can not enter or exit through the main doors, you have to use a small side door. They advertise offering a continental breakfast with Hot Waffles, and in reality you have a few granola bars a picture of apple juice and a coffee pot. As you can see in the pictures, everything is rusty. We booked a new n-smoking room, but we were put in a room that was clearly a smoking room, it reeked and had ashtrays in the room. We were moved to a dark ferment room, it did have an odd smell, but didn’t reek of cigarettes. There was no coffee pot, no ironing board or iron. When I asked about the Super Start breakfast that Super8 advertises, the clerk told me that Super8 does not require that unless there are over 300 rooms. Oh and we got less than a half roll of toilet paper and no spare.
Mar 09, 2025 · Laura WoodWe stayed here for 2 nights while we had some renovation work back home. Staff were friendly and helped us get checked in. Room was clean and we felt safe while we were there. At a past hotel we had random people knocking on our door. This was a great hotel!
Mar 04, 2025 · Evan MotesI was staying there on my fema voucher, because of the other fema people that were there before me was sneaking people I'm their rooms and stealing things, they said there are no guests allowed. I was kicked out an I'm disabled with my service dog at 1:30am in 20F degree weather for a noise complaint by a sheriff officer, when I had been asleep. They are letting people without a keycard in the building, blaming me/others for it. The owner threatened me he will have my service dog removed for me not taking her with me by animal control, but they allow pets there. The room was filthy, sticky stuff on the floors, TV screen was broke, 1 of the beds had a full body dip in the mattress very uncomfortable. The owner took one of my keycards and the other one punched a hole in it, threatening me if I lost it he'd charge me $5 for a new one. Very unprofessional, and rude. They do have phones in the rooms, with free local and toll free calls, but I called to be put through to my room and when my roommate didn't answer, I called back and asked to plz try again and the lady put me on hold an then hung up on me. I called back an a man informed me I'd have to call them on their cellphone, I told them twice they don't have a cellphone and they informed me it wasn't their job to put me through to the room requested and had told a few people that had called for me that I no longer lived there and I did. I'm still entitled to 11 days of my voucher but I want what they charge daily plus tax X 11 days back for me having to leave and find somewhere else to stay! Who's the owner over this hotel location in Anderson sc?!?!
