Upon checking in they told me my reservation was cancelled due to my card being declined. When I booked it the reservation said pay at hotel not pay at the moment of booking. They told me that they may have to book it again with a different price. After back and forth they booked it for the original price. Parking also was additional $15 which should just come with the room. We checked in and went out when we came back at About 12 am we had an issue with the toilet not flushing the lady told us to try to flush it up to 3 times. We told her we did and she said she’d figure out how to get it resolved by the time we came back. They provided us with a plunger to unclog it. Fixed the issue temporarily. But Still had issues with the toilet being clogged through out the stay. When going to bed I went to lock the door and there was no chain provided just a shoelace. In the middle of the night I heard a click and went to check the door and the door hadn’t even locked due to the door plate being rigged to the makeshift door frame. With it being the middle of the night I put a chair up against the door but barely slept due to feeling uncomfortable and seeing roaches in the room. Upon checking out we let the front desk know the issues that we had so they could be fixed so the next person wouldn’t have the same experience. I was met with a condescending attitude from the 2 men at the front desk. After a back and forth again they agreed to a 50% refund. Before leaving I checked my card and they charged me an additional charge of $81.79 so I said something and the older guy let me know that they weren’t able to do the 50% refund and that it would be a full refund. My problem I have is my card has now been charged $263 total. 81.79 two times and the $100 deposit. I’ve had issues with super 8 during a stay before but nothing ever like this experience. This room should be in way better condition if they are going to charge someone to stay here. The shower was disgusting, the bathroom door was all warped and water strained. Would not recommend staying here.

Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City Introduce

When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Atlantic City, the Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City may appear as an option due to its location at 175-181 S Tennessee Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, USA. For inquiries, the hotel can be reached at (609) 344-8956 or via mobile at +1 609-344-8956. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the hotel, incorporating information available online, including real customer reviews, to offer a balanced perspective on what prospective guests might expect regarding its environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional information.

The environment of Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City, based on numerous guest accounts, presents a mixed picture. While its proximity to key Atlantic City attractions like the boardwalk and casinos is a clear advantage, the internal condition of the hotel, particularly the rooms, has been a significant point of concern for past visitors. Recurring feedback describes rooms as having an unpleasant smell and showing signs of disrepair, including cracks in walls and warped, water-stained bathroom doors. The cleanliness of the bathrooms, specifically the showers, has been described as "disgusting" by some. Critically, some guests have reported issues with pests, including roaches in their rooms, which significantly impacts the perceived comfort and hygiene of the environment. The general impression conveyed by recent reviews is that the hotel's physical condition is not well-maintained and does not meet basic cleanliness standards expected of lodging.

Regarding services, the Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City, as a budget-friendly chain, generally aims to provide fundamental hotel services. However, guest experiences suggest inconsistencies in the delivery of these services. Check-in procedures have been a source of frustration for some, with reports of reservation issues, such as cancellations due to card declines even when "pay at hotel" was selected, leading to disputes over pricing. Parking is an additional cost, with a reported charge of $15, which some guests feel should be included with the room. A significant concern raised by guests pertains to a $100 deposit charged at check-in, which, combined with other charges, has led to confusion and frustration regarding total costs and refunds. When issues arise, such as a non-flushing toilet, the immediate response from staff has been perceived as insufficient, requiring guests to temporarily resolve problems themselves with provided tools. Furthermore, the attitude of front desk staff during problem resolution, particularly during check-out, has been described as "condescending," leading to prolonged disputes over refunds and unexpected charges. While the hotel does offer basic amenities like a front desk and presumably housekeeping, the quality and professionalism of these services, as reported by guests, appear to be a major area of dissatisfaction.

The features available at Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City are standard for a budget hotel. Common amenities typically include free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms, and a television. However, the functionality and security of these features have been heavily criticized by guests. For instance, a serious safety concern was raised regarding door locks, with one guest reporting a "shoelace" instead of a chain lock and a door plate "rigged to the makeshift door frame," preventing proper locking and leading to a feeling of insecurity. The presence of a plunger in the room for a recurring toilet issue also highlights a lack of proper maintenance for essential in-room facilities. While a Super 8 generally provides basic comfortable beds, the overall condition of the room, including the presence of cracks and disrepair, detracts significantly from any comfort offered. There's no specific mention of unique recreational facilities or dining options directly within the hotel itself based on the provided reviews, suggesting a focus on basic lodging. The hotel's affiliation with the Wyndham brand implies access to standard brand features, but the actual guest experience, as detailed in reviews, falls short of even basic expectations for hygiene, security, and functionality.

In terms of promotional information, Super 8 by Wyndham, as part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts portfolio, typically offers various standard promotions. These might include discounts for booking directly, rewards for Wyndham Rewards members, or special rates for AAA members, AARP members, and military personnel. However, the provided customer reviews do not mention any specific promotional successes or positive experiences related to these offers. Instead, the focus is heavily on billing discrepancies and issues with refunds, which overshadow any potential benefits of promotional pricing. The concern about being charged additional, unexpected fees, including a deposit and multiple charges on credit cards, suggests that any advertised low prices may be offset by hidden or disputed costs. Potential guests considering this hotel under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly verify all charges, deposit policies, and room conditions upon arrival and during their stay. The overwhelmingly negative customer feedback regarding value for money, coupled with significant concerns about cleanliness, safety, and customer service, strongly indicates that any perceived promotional savings might come at the cost of a severely compromised and unpleasant stay. It is crucial for prospective visitors to carefully weigh the reported issues against any advertised prices or promotions.

We stayed here for a show at the casino and it was gross. Charged for parking AND $100 charge at check in for a deposit. The room smelled, the bathroom was disgusting, there were cracks in the walls. Not worth it at all and definitely will pick a nicer place next trip we make. Do not go here!

If you’re looking for a laugh and getting what you paid for, this is the hotel for you. From the television with bad reception, weird banging noises at night that I decided to prop up the door at night because the door doesn’t feel secure at all and a nasty fridge and tub. The coverlet on the bed was dusty when my wife pulled it up so I advise to sleep with long sleeve everything. I counted 10 cigarette burns on the blanket and coverlet together but sure there were more. And we were in the no smoking section. It was hilarious. Oh and the last picture with the red door, can’t see it, but it looks like someone tried kicking it in so it was dented.

The rooms are as pictured in reviews. There are a few that are "nicer" than others. My check-in was smooth. But it was lengthy as there were guests in the lobby. It is hot. The AC was good. The room was moderately clean. Cigarette burns but it was a smoking room. It served its purpose. Some gnats or fruit flies were always about but we made a conscious plan to not leave open drinks or food due to other reviews. Toilet seat pinched our butts. It is a fun time hotel as long as you are behaving congenial.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location! The room we were in was awful! It doesn't even deserve one star! We couldn't deadbolt our door, the air conditioner plug was tapped to the wall, the marble counter was cut with saw which left sharp edges and the flush handle was under the counter. There were cigarette burns in the carpet and bedspread. A used bandaid was covering the peephole in the door, one of the outlet boxes pulled out of the wall when I unplugged my phone charger. A $100 deposit is required and parking is $15 a day. Stay away from this hotel!
