This place is awesome! I really don’t understand all the one star ratings and poor reviews, it’s an old hotel, the rooms aren’t gonna be “up to par” but the bed was very comfy, the place has so much character, very cool old elevator, and the hotel has a sick comedy club / bar in it! Looks like a sitcom set, very cool, I would recommend this place to anyone that isn’t a pu$$y

Absolutely horrible. Avoid at all costs. 2nd floor feels like being right in a night club on weekend. Dirty room, Bed is as hard as a rock, Noise level is insanely loud due to the club in the same building, Old outdated rooms, no working fan in bathroom, shower dripping 24/7, dirty bed sheets, nowhere to hang clothes, no reception on TV, key cards stop working after 12 hours, staff asleep at the reception desk at check out, no cleaning of rooms each day. No safe in the room.

Reasonable price option in Dupont circle. There's a comedy club on the ground floor. It was sold out the night we were there. Rooms are simple, small but reasonable. Coffee is available for free in the morning at the front desk. About a 6-minute walk to the Metro

You can’t expect the best from a cheap place but respect should be free. The hotel staff was eh. Nobody in that city has respect especially for tourists. The people around dc are the worst people you will ever meet. This hotel was nice but be mindful of the comedy club that’s under the rooms. I didn’t mind I found it wholesome hearing everyone’s laughs. But it may be a problem for people who don’t like that. I’m still waiting for my deposit to come back. One day isn’t true like the other review said it takes longer. Be mindful of that too ($150 deposit) $300 if you are caught smoking in the rooms too. Overall I enjoyed the hotel more than the actual city.

DO NOT STAY HERE—not suitable for safety or service. Over the course of my five-day stay, there was poor and at times no front lobby service, a police altercation in the lobby, and no water for shower, sink, or toilet multiple days—not to mention the keycards get demagnetized necessitating you wait at the lobby for someone to come and reactivate them. The lobby promised renumeration for lack of water etc, only to be hit with an additional $269 unexplained additional charge a week after checkout instead?! They do not respond to calls or emails, needing to submit chargeback and fraud through credit card.
