It’s a nice hotel in a great location, just below Kalorama and above DuPont Circle. So there are a lot of restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby. My room was large and quiet. My only complaint is that it took me asking multiple times to have the AC fixed before it was finally addressed. The staff were pretty friendly if not overly attentive. Last, there is a $25/night Historic Hotel fee charged at the end of your stay (it says this on their site), which would have felt better if my room wasn’t 83 degrees! Overall, though, a nice place, if only because of the location.

The Churchill Hotel Near Embassy Row Introduce

For residents of the District of Columbia and those who frequently find themselves navigating our vibrant city, discovering a hotel that combines historic charm with modern comfort and an unbeatable location can be a true asset. The Churchill Hotel Near Embassy Row, located at 1914 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009, USA, is one such establishment. This article will provide a comprehensive and engaging look at this hotel, specifically tailored for the local D.C. perspective, highlighting its unique attributes and why it might be your next go-to spot for a staycation, hosting guests, or a convenient base for exploring the city.

The Churchill Hotel is not just another lodging option; it holds the distinction of being a member of Historic Hotels of America, immediately signaling its rich heritage and architectural significance. While it maintains a classic, European-style ambiance, it strives to offer contemporary comforts. Guests often praise its spacious rooms and quiet atmosphere, a welcome respite in a busy city. Its location, nestled perfectly between the upscale Kalorama neighborhood and the lively Dupont Circle, means you’re never far from the best that D.C. has to offer. Despite some minor service hiccups occasionally mentioned in reviews, the overall sentiment points to a hotel that provides a good experience, largely due to its prime position and the quality of its accommodations.

Location and Accessibility

The Churchill Hotel Near Embassy Row's address at 1914 Connecticut Ave NW is undoubtedly one of its strongest selling points. This puts it in a sweet spot that offers excellent accessibility to key areas of Washington D.C. For locals, this means convenient access whether you're traveling for work, leisure, or hosting out-of-town visitors.

Situated just below the stately Kalorama neighborhood and a short walk above the bustling Dupont Circle, the hotel is perfectly positioned for exploration. Dupont Circle, a major hub, is home to a Metro station (Red Line), which means direct and easy access to virtually every major attraction in the city, including the National Mall, Smithsonian museums, the White House, and Capitol Hill. This Metro access is a significant advantage, allowing guests to avoid D.C.'s notorious traffic and parking challenges. Reviews confirm that Dupont Circle is an easy walk from the hotel.

Beyond public transport, the immediate vicinity is a walker's paradise. Connecticut Avenue is lined with numerous restaurants, charming cafes, and unique shops, offering a diverse culinary scene and ample opportunities for leisurely strolls. The "Embassy Row" designation is literal, as the hotel is surrounded by beautiful embassies, contributing to a sense of international sophistication and security in the area. Kalorama's quiet, tree-lined streets offer a pleasant environment for an evening walk or a morning run.

For those with a vehicle, the hotel does offer valet parking for a fee, though it's important to be aware of the cost (as noted in some reviews, around $70.80 per night including in/out privileges). This option, while costly, provides peace of mind in a city where parking can be a challenge. The combination of excellent public transit proximity, a vibrant and safe neighborhood, and vehicular accessibility makes The Churchill Hotel an exceptionally well-located choice for navigating D.C.

I was very happy with my stay her. I booked through booking.com it came with free breakfast which was a lot better than I expected it to be. The rooms and hotel itself was really nice and clean, bed and pillows was really comfy. I really loved all the details in the trim work. The location was great and I felt safe at night. My only complaint is not getting my room serviced even though I left the service my room tag out.

Just meh. Nothing outstanding, nothing really missing. Our check-in process was a little bumpy but…. It all worked out. “Supposedly” my buddy reserved a handicap room, which is suspect. Again, at any rate, the restaurant was nice, clean and friendly staff. the location was VERY convenient. Good rate, put this on your final properties to consider. The Generator next door ( two thumbs up) the cafe downstairs is a vibe !

For the price I paid for one night in deluxe king suite I expected much better service. The room was dirty, bugs in the shower, toilet don’t flashing and the room didn’t see to be vacuumed for very long time. No hospitality or costumer service at the front desk. They don’t even say Hi to the guests. When I complained about my issues in room only answer I got. “ ok I will let manager know and have a good day”. The area is ok but there is not parking for the vehicles. I hope they will improve the cleaning quality, learn how to do costumer service and hospitality.

The rooms were large and very quiet! The hotel is also in a good location. The rooms are never cleaned during the stay. In addition, the towels are not changed. We only hear this from other guests, they didn't inform us when we checked in! We had breakfast included. Unfortunately there is only 1 coffee, 1 juice, 1 pastry and 1 yogurt! Far too little for me! In addition, 2% commission on card payments was added to the total amount, which has never happened to me anywhere in the world!
