Did not stay overnight but booked a private party in one of their event spaces and can't rave enough about the experience - it was quick, simple and personal to get everything set up and taken care of, the catering options are many and all incredible, having a private bar for our small event was a treat. The staff was above and beyond friendly and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommend for your next private event or party!
For those in Concord, New Hampshire, seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" that offer a blend of historic charm and modern luxury, The Centennial Hotel presents a distinctive option. Located at 96 Pleasant St, Concord, NH 03301, USA, this elegant hotel aims to provide a memorable experience for both overnight guests and those utilizing its event spaces. You can contact the hotel directly at (603) 227-9000 or +1 603-227-9000.
The Centennial Hotel is housed in a stunning 19th-century Victorian mansion, offering a unique and charming atmosphere that sets it apart from typical chain hotels. Its location on Pleasant Street places it just minutes from downtown Concord, offering convenient access to local attractions such as the New Hampshire State House, Capitol Center for the Arts, and various shops and dining establishments. While being close to the city's vibrant center, it also provides a somewhat tucked-away and quiet environment, as noted by guests. The hotel is situated along a medical services corridor, near Concord Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic, which can be advantageous for visitors related to these institutions.
The hotel has undergone renovations, reportedly in 2024, combining its "timeless 19th-century architecture" with "sleek, contemporary updates." This blend of historic elegance and modern design is a significant aspect of its environment, from the lobby and event spaces to the individual guest rooms. The overall aesthetic aims for a polished and sophisticated feel, creating an enticing alternative for those looking for more than just a standard hotel stay.
The Centennial Hotel offers a range of services and amenities designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers, as well as those hosting events:
However, a critical point of concern emerged from one guest review regarding unexpected charges. This guest was charged for "Gym and Water Bottles in the room" after check-out, despite being told the water bottles were free and not using the gym. This incident caused significant dissatisfaction and highlights a potential issue with clarity regarding resort fees or incidental charges. It's crucial for guests to clarify all potential extra fees (such as resort/facilities fees, which can include items like fitness center access and in-room bottled water, as some external sources indicate a resort fee of approximately $16.28 per night) at check-in or during booking to avoid such surprises.
The Centennial Hotel boasts 32 individually furnished rooms and suites across its historic building. The rooms are designed to blend "modern style, quaint history, and friendly service."
Despite the overall positive aesthetic and comfort, the unexpected charge for amenities like water bottles and gym access, which the guest believed were complimentary or covered by the room rate, is a significant feature of concern that impacts the perceived value and trustworthiness. This implies a need for clearer communication of all potential charges upon arrival.
The Centennial Hotel positions itself as a premier destination in Concord, attracting guests with its unique blend of historic charm and modern amenities. It appeals to a discerning clientele looking for a more personalized and elegant lodging experience compared to larger chain hotels.
While the hotel generally receives strong positive reviews for its aesthetic, cleanliness, and the friendliness of its staff, particularly for events, the isolated yet impactful negative review regarding hidden or unclear charges is a critical piece of promotional information. Prospective guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" who are considering The Centennial Hotel should always inquire thoroughly about all fees, including any resort or facilities fees, at the time of booking or check-in to ensure full transparency and avoid unexpected costs, thereby guaranteeing a "NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN" experience does not become their own.

May 10, 2025 · Elizabeth BaskervilleI gave a good review on Expedia...wish I did not. I don't mind paying for a nice hotel, and I paid over 200 for 1 night. Come home and they charged my card, I called and inquired why? And they said that is for Gym and Water Bottles in the room. I said I didn't want the water battles which we were told they were free....and we only stayed 1 night. So the over 200 wasn't enough, you had to charge for water bottles I didn't want and a Gym we didn't use. I thought the 200 per night could of covered that. Enjoy your extra 20 bucks, because I would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
May 14, 2025 · Timothy RisonOld nursing home turned into a hotel. Our room was huge, nice, with comfortable beds. Large shower with thick towels and bathrobes. The only issue we had was that there isn't any place in the bathroom to hang your clothes or towels, and the dining room is closed till further notice. We did find a restaurant close by
Jan 30, 2025 · Bonnie JamesonWe had a wonderful stay. I will admit the outside of the building had my sixth sense on alert but once we entered it was beautiful. Checking in was a breese and I was assured the ghosts were friendly. The room was modern, clean and warm. Shower was large and bed was really comfy. I thought it was a great price and I had no encounters of the supernatural..to my dismay.
Jan 26, 2025 · Bethany jonesMy husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. We purchased the "Romantic Package" and it was a wonderful experience. The building is lovely and our room was very comfortable and included a covered deck area. There was a cheese and cracker platter as well as a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. The staff was welcoming, including the wait staff at the restaurant there. Overall, an excellent time!
