The overall experience was not great. Just know that it may be hard to reach for some unless you have a SUV or 4 wheel drive, because it is a steep and graveled road. Furthermore, online it said that you had to come by a certain time to get lunch, so we arrived early but lunch and it was not provided. When we asked about it she said "it's only on request " so we requested it, but then came back 10 minutes later and told us that the cook wasn't on site. And we couldn't have that but suggested we go to the nearest convenience store. We did get breakfast and it was decent but came cold. Now the glamping tent was nice but the deer rugs made a huge mess and the fur got stuck in my socks for a long time and there is NO PRIVACY. there is a huge open window build into the tent that is directly in front of the bed and the only thing they have to cover it is sheer draps that doesn't reach across the whole thing. I had to tuck my own blankets i brought with me into the seems to have make shift blinds. Not to mention the host said they were going to be in the house if we needed them and that some other guests were going to be arriving soon she was going to "set up the room for them" (no other tenants arrived) and we didnt see her again until morning but when we woke up we saw her coming out of the tent right next to us with PJ's on... so we assumed she stayed there. Which honestly made me feel really uncomfortable because we were the only guests there but she chose to stay in the tent next to us...(which is the only one with a hottub and grill included) And the shower only runs cold water so look forward to that. For over $300 it was not worth it.
For Georgians seeking an escape that combines the tranquility of nature with the comforts of a luxury hotel, "glamping" presents an increasingly popular option. The Glamp Inn, nestled at 1369 Lakeshore Estates Dr, Lincolnton, GA 30817, offers a distinctive take on this trend, providing a unique resort-style experience. It aims to blend the allure of the outdoors with sophisticated amenities, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the serene beauty of the region without sacrificing modern conveniences. This destination is designed for those looking for something beyond a traditional hotel stay, offering an opportunity to reconnect with nature in a luxurious setting.
The Glamp Inn prides itself on providing a "glamorous camping" experience, often featuring spacious domes that are far from conventional tents. While some customer experiences have varied, with specific concerns raised about accessibility on gravel roads, dining service consistency, and privacy in some accommodations, the fundamental concept of The Glamp Inn is to offer an elevated outdoor retreat. It aims to create a memorable ambiance, particularly for couples seeking a romantic escape or individuals looking for a quiet, rural haven. This overview will provide a comprehensive look at what The Glamp Inn in Lincolnton offers, allowing you to weigh its unique features against your personal preferences for a Georgia getaway.
The Glamp Inn is situated at 1369 Lakeshore Estates Dr, Lincolnton, GA 30817, USA, a location that places it in a serene and picturesque part of Georgia, specifically on the enchanting shores of Lake Strom Thurmond (also known as Clarks Hill Lake). This expansive reservoir is a major draw for visitors, offering a wealth of water-based activities and stunning natural beauty. Lincolnton itself is a quiet, rural community, providing a true escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
While the rural setting contributes to the peaceful ambiance, it's important for prospective guests to note that, as mentioned in customer feedback, the access road to the property may be "steep and graveled." This suggests that vehicles with higher clearance, such as SUVs or 4-wheel drive, might be more comfortable for navigating the final stretch to the resort. Despite this, the seclusion is part of the appeal, allowing for a truly immersive nature experience. The Glamp Inn's location on Lake Strom Thurmond grants direct access to the lake, which is ideal for activities like swimming, kayaking, fishing, and boating. Nearby state parks such as Elijah Clark State Park, Baker Creek State Park, and Hickory Knob State Resort Park offer additional opportunities for hiking, wildlife watching, and exploring the natural landscape of Georgia. While remote, the setting ensures a tranquil retreat, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a peaceful connection with the outdoors.
The Glamp Inn focuses on providing a curated glamping experience, with services designed to enhance the stay:

It is strongly recommended to contact The Glamp Inn directly to discuss availability, confirm amenities, and address any questions you may have before making a reservation, especially given the specific nature of the accommodation and past customer feedback. For residents of Georgia, The Glamp Inn in Lincolnton presents a unique and potentially suitable option for a distinctive local escape, especially for those seeking a blend of nature and luxury without traveling far. While recent customer reviews have highlighted significant concerns regarding road accessibility, dining service consistency (cold breakfast, unavailability of requested lunch, and a chef not on-site), privacy issues due to sheer drapes and a host staying in an adjacent tent, and non-functional amenities like a cold shower and a broken hot tub with unfulfilled refund promises, it’s important to understand the concept and potential of such a unique offering.
For Georgians who are adventurous and appreciate the concept of "glamping" – glamorous camping – this resort offers a different kind of retreat compared to traditional hotels. It caters to those who value being close to nature and enjoy unique accommodations like luxury domes with en-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes. If you're a local looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape from city life, and are willing to manage potential minor inconveniences that can sometimes arise with unique, off-the-beaten-path experiences, The Glamp Inn could still be a consideration. The setting on Lake Strom Thurmond is genuinely beautiful, offering opportunities for water activities and relaxation by a fireplace on a private deck.
However, prospective local guests should take the reported issues seriously. It would be advisable to call the resort directly and explicitly confirm the functionality of all amenities, especially if booking a dome with a hot tub, and to clarify the meal service policy. Understanding the gravel road access and ensuring your vehicle is suitable is also key. For Georgians who are flexible, prioritize a novel outdoor experience, and are prepared to communicate their needs clearly with the property, The Glamp Inn could still deliver a memorable and distinctive local adventure, offering a "classy" stay in nature that differs from typical resort experiences in the state. It's about weighing the unique allure of glamping against the candid feedback to determine if this particular retreat aligns with your expectations for a local Georgia escape.

May 03, 2025 · Cass TatI booked the dome with the jacuzzi which was more expensive than the others. Although we spoke several times before my arrival I was never informed that the jacuzzi wasn't working until I attempted to use it. I was then told that a part was missing. When I expressed my displeasure our host said she would try to compensate me with a refund for the extra money I spent. She never mentioned it again though so I emailed and asked and she confirmed that she would refund us. Then she never responded to my messages Again. Honestly disappointed by the experience.
Sep 01, 2024 · Shayna JWhat a wonderful time we had ever in The Glamp Inn !! Awesome time! Our first time glamping was exciting, fabulous and memorial. The glamp inn has very comfortable domes that is from good cleanliness and hospitality. My husband got the nice fish close to this area so we can also enjoy the natural wildlife. Additionally, we really love such a delicious breakfast made by this host. We wish we would like to have a dinner next time. We will definitely come back soon!
Aug 13, 2023 · RINA MORIHands down one of the best “just because “ trips ever! Everything was glamorous and made to feel like a home away from home while enjoying nature. Shayne and Michael added to the experience with the best hospitality ever. They ensured we had everything we need and more. If coming please make sure you order dinner, the food was amazing. My husband and I will definitely be returning!♥️
Jan 16, 2022 · Niecy HinesShayne was very accommodating for a last minute booking for my boyfriend's birthday. She was also very patient and understanding when a business emergency came up and we could not arrive the time we told her we were expecting to. Everything was put together nicely, food was amazing and he really enjoyed himself. She was able to come up with other options when told about our food likes and dislikes, being that I booked 3 days before his birthday and was not able to do her traditional vetting prior to arriving. We definitely will be back and will recommend to family and friends.
