I would have given zero star if I could. Joined a budget tour to the Fall in 2019 and got thrown into this dump. Room was like it had never been renovated since 70s. Carpet was wet and sheet was smelly.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the iconic destination of Niagara Falls, New York, The Niagara Inn at 454 Main St, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, USA, emerges as a budget-oriented accommodation option. However, it is crucial for potential guests to approach this property with managed expectations, as recent customer feedback indicates significant concerns regarding its condition and service quality. While some older or less specific listings might present it as a straightforward hotel, current user experiences paint a more challenging picture.
Niagara Falls, New York, is globally renowned for its magnificent waterfalls, including the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, as well as attractions like Niagara Falls State Park, Maid of the Mist, and Cave of the Winds. The location on Main Street suggests proximity to some of the downtown attractions and access to the wider Niagara Falls area. For visitors prioritizing immediate access to the Falls, a short walk or drive might be appealing.
The environment of The Niagara Inn, according to recent customer reviews, is largely characterized by neglect and a lack of modern upkeep. Guests describe rooms as appearing to have "never been renovated since 70s," indicating a significantly outdated aesthetic and potentially worn furnishings. Mentions of "wet carpet" and "smelly sheet" point to serious cleanliness and maintenance issues that could severely impact a guest's comfort and perception of the property's overall environment. One reviewer explicitly states, "this is clearly not being used properly. It seems its private owners are severely neglecting the property." This suggests a general state of disrepair and a lack of investment in the building's infrastructure and appearance. While the address on Main Street in Niagara Falls might imply a central or convenient location, the internal environment appears to be far from the standard expected of a hospitality establishment. Such conditions create an unwelcoming and potentially unsanitary atmosphere, making it challenging for guests to relax or feel comfortable during their stay.
The services provided at The Niagara Inn, as reported by guests, appear to be severely lacking and, at times, problematic. Key issues highlighted in reviews include:
The overall picture of services is one of disorganization and unresponsiveness, where basic guest needs are not met, and interactions with staff are negative. Such an environment indicates a failure in providing essential hospitality services, leading to significant guest dissatisfaction. The comments collectively suggest that the property is operating at a minimal level, potentially understaffed, and unable to manage basic guest requirements effectively.
Based on the provided customer reviews, the features of The Niagara Inn are consistently described as substandard and unreliable, falling short of typical hotel expectations.
One review states, "Overall I don't think this even qualifies as a hotel, let alone a 2-star," which is a strong condemnation of the property's overall features and standards. While a hotel typically offers features like comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and functional common areas, the feedback for The Niagara Inn suggests these basic expectations are not consistently met. Any features it might offer, such as basic furnishings or a location, are overshadowed by significant deficiencies in maintenance and service quality.
For local users and visitors searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Niagara Falls, NY, The Niagara Inn should be approached with extreme caution, particularly by those accustomed to standard hotel comforts and services. Promotional information, if available, would need to honestly reflect the current state of the property, which is largely unfavorable according to recent guests. Instead of traditional promotional appeals, a more realistic approach would be to manage expectations for a very budget-conscious stay where comfort and standard amenities may be severely compromised. The overwhelming advice from past customers is "If you're thinking of using this - simply don't!" This highly negative sentiment makes it challenging to recommend the property for most travelers. While its address at 454 Main St might be considered central for some attractions, the internal conditions and service issues appear to negate any locational advantage. Any potential low pricing would need to be weighed heavily against the reported issues of cleanliness, broken facilities, lack of expected amenities, and poor customer service. Guests seeking a comfortable or reliable stay in Niagara Falls should strongly consider alternative accommodations, as The Niagara Inn's current state, as described by recent visitors, suggests it may not provide a satisfactory experience.

Nov 01, 2023 · Ricky MakAs others have stated - this is clearly not being used properly. It seems its private owners are severely neglecting the property. When we arrived the lift was broken (our room was on the 5th floor), no food items whatsoever in the hotel (even though the website stated otherwise), all our tour group’s keycards didnt work so took us 1hr to get into the room. All information by the few staff that was there was incorrect, invalid and rude. Overall i dont think this even qualifies as a hotel, let alone a 2-star. If you’re thinking of using this - simply don’t!
May 10, 2023 · M SELECTORWe have come through a tour company & chose to pay extra just for the location. It looks very gloomy the moment you enter. That’s when I decided to go in with zero expectations. Every one else has commented enough on the quality & service of this Inn. We are just grateful that we got a place to sleep & shower. But never again!
Jul 12, 2023 · Teja Majali GavankarIf you're over 5 ft 8 the shower will be a challenge. The bed wasn't comfortable, it was very broken in. The carpet felt soggy and damp. The bathroom sink was partially clogged and drained very slow. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and welcoming.
Jul 20, 2019 · Gary CandiesStaff is nice, but had some issues since a change of ownership. Lost our reservations, not just once, but twice. But then they did make it right. Location to the falls is about all this place has going for it. An easy 15 minute walk. The hotel is old and very run down. I heard from a hotel employee that the new owner is only keeping it open through tourist season and is going to knock it down and build a new hotel on the site. New owner is putting $0 into current hotel upkeep and it shows. One star for nice and friendly staff, one for location. Would not stay here again.
